My boyfriend is Italian and it’s so interesting how he could compare even a simple glass of water from here in the US vs from Italy- taste wise. Really makes me crave a trip to Europe to see what I’ve been missing all my life 😩

So many Europeans seem to think nothing of being needlessly prejudiced, condescending and rude over the most mundane things and then have these audacity to call us arrogant when most other Americans I know are curious, excited or intrigued about silly differences.
okay y'all, here's a life hack for when you're in college and you're broke: prepare a box of Annie's white cheddar mac and cheese per the instructions. Halve the butter and swap out the other half with cream cheese. Allow to melt completely. Add the cheese. Add a teaspoon of garlic powder (NOT garlic salt) to the cheese mixture. Add some black pepper. Mix in the pasta. It's amazing. It's cheap. You're welcome.
Two key things 1) mix the powder with the milk and butter BEFORE you return the noodles to the pot. Whisking it without interference ensures no clumps 2) HIGHLY recommend melting some mozzarella in before adding the noodles as well. Totally elevates the dish.
I actually made some homemade Mac and cheese for my Italian fiance and his brother and they actually like it a lot. The grocery store here Lidl sells a pretty good cheddar cheese during "American" week.
@@shelster they don't have Mac and cheese, just the cheddar (not the sliced kind they always carry) I used to make it from scratch. Also during English/Irish week they often have a very good white cheddar.

You should show him that Italy was the first ones to create Mac and cheese lol. The pasinis (I could have that wrong" just found that out and ofcourse now her husband loves it😂
They know that, it's just the idea of powder cheese is shocking. Too processed when you can buy good quality cheese and make your own mac&cheese anytime here.
I'm Californian and my G-ma always made it the Polish way. Boil the water with a pinch of salt Add ditalini pasta to boiling water Cook 5 minutes then drain water out and add 2, 1 inch cuts of butter Add buttermilk, then melt in farmers cheese or if she hadn't home made that cheese co-jack would do. Boil with stirring the mixture. Then add cut up sausage and herbs. Plate and serve, best Mac n cheese ever
When i was 8 we moved from Scotland to the Netherlands as my dad was in the RAF. I made friends with a bunch of American kids who lived mear my house. One invited me over for mac and cheese because its my fav meal. I was so confused when they took a box out of the cupboard to make mac and cheese. In my family we make it from scratch and add wholegrain mustard to the cheese sauce. While pasta is draining, melt butter, remove from the heat, add the cheese, while wisking add small splashes of milk. This is the best way to take boxed Mac n cheese to the next level without any additions. I don't eat this stuff anymore, but if I had to, it's gotta be made this way.
Dario is right. Just boil right shape macaroni or shell noodles. Grate cheese, use milk, butter, season with salt & spices instead of pre-packed ingredients with preservatives.
You're supposed to mix the annies cheese sauce before adding the noodles back in. Let them sit in the drainer and actually cook the cheese sauce for a moment, until it gets bubbly. You're welcome.
Annie’s was the only stuff I could have for a while when I went gluten free to try to help with some stuff thankfully I can now have non gluten free Mac and cheese witch just hits different
Travel hack. If you're going on a long flight like over seas but you have to pack light and you want your american boxed stuff, just pack the cheese packets. They hardly take up any room at all and you can buy pasta anywhere even just regular elbow noods or ya know shell type, w/e. This was easy in Europe and I'm assuming you can find this pasta anywhere. I used this trick when I use to nanny
Not that it would make it taste much different, but I always thought you were supposed to heat up the milk with butter and cheese and then pour it over the macaroni......?
Yo I will probably never eat box Mac again. It's pretty easy to make it from scratch at home and I am no chef 😂 I feel the same about the liquid cheese
Here's the thing in canada its called "kraft dinner" and I think thats much more honest and good, because while I like the stuff a lot it ain't exactly macaroni and cheese is it.
