• Rating Explanations:
➤ Half a star counts as one level point (goes up to 7 stars max, or level 14).
➤ One skull rating includes both level 15 and 16 charts, with level 17s starting at two skulls (goes up to 8 skulls max, or level 23).
➤ ??? represents levels 24+. These are either incredibly difficult charts or require multiple people (co-op) to play.
• Version Differences:
➤ v1.00: This was the beta version that was released in test locations in Mexico. Calorie ratings were not included in this version, and Final Audition Episode 2-2 was available immediately.
➤ v1.05: Calorie ratings were included at the end of each credit. Valenti and Fighting Spirits also made their final appearances in the game here.
➤ v1.08: Valenti and Fighting Spirits (including its Another charts and World Tour missions respectively) were completely removed likely due to licensing issues. This version features brand new Another charts for Witch Doctor #1 instead that was not playable in any other version at the time.
• Additional Notes:
➤ As shown here, Training Station and World Tour are disabled in Event Mode.
➤ You must accumulate either 100 or 200 clears of Final Audition Episode 2-1 in Arcade Station to unlock Final Audition Episode 2-2.
➤ You can either go through World Tour or insert between 20,000 and 50,000 total credits to unlock more content in Special Station and World Tour.
➤ There are plenty of hidden charts in Special Station that can be accessed by using a special trick to force the machine to play an unlisted mode for the song. These charts may be incomplete, very similar or exactly like their arcade counterparts, and/or brand new charts.
* To be able to play these hidden charts in Special Station, choose the mode you want to play on the song to the side of your desired song, and switch over to that song right before the counter hits zero.
• Personal Discoveries and Notes:
➤ Final Audition Episode 2-2 was unlocked for me after 100 stage passes of Final Audition Episode 2-1. Failing the song and backing out to the operator's menu did not count for me. All other content was also unlocked for me somewhere ranging at 20,000 and 30,000 total credits.
➤ My hard drive is labeled v1.04 while the game says v1.05 in the operator's menu. I've noticed some more minor differences after comparing with owners with kits that are labeled v1.05 (i.e. the first song for the Pyongyang mission is Valenti's beta Crazy chart for me while it's Bust Back's special Nightmare chart for them).
* Unlock conditions may or may not be inconsistent based on my personal discoveries and comparisons with other NX owners.

The increase in difficulty between Exceed to Zero era to NX was insane IMO
Star grading system is the pump it up equivalent to the imperial measure system.
So glad they took it down.
I liked the Skull Icons and ???????? for mystery and a more dramatic way to let you know the difficulty. The newer system is boring.
This was my first piu version. Not the best, but I fall in love with pump it up after play it
so touching for an excellent video
I remember hating this UI when it came out. Even nowadays, I can still say 101928 bad things about it... on the other hand, the New Tunes are ALL so great!

Zero was my favorite UI back then, next came this and I loathed it. Then I couldn't find any zero machines in my city, only exceeds and nxs :(

If I recall, the song: U by Judain (from Exceed 2) is only available for World Tour in NX. Really sad it's not on Arcade Station and that's my first song I played back in Exceed 2
J-Bong, Street Showdown, Come to Me (Clon), and Fire are the others I've been able to find.

NX is the last version where the original songs' channel is called "BanYa" channel, right?
Pop was also replaced to World Music after Fiesta was introduced, I believe they want a better name I think.

i don't understand with the leveling in this version.
If i'm not wrong, half star represents 1 level so a star is 2 levels. And for a skull represents 1 level. And for the ????? Is for level over 24

Skull: 17-24
?????: Over 24
Like I see (just an idea)
Stars = 2 levels
Skulls = 4 levels (for example: bullfighter song in XX have a D20 and here that level is represented by 5 skulls. So, if you do that operation 4 levels x 5 skulls = LVL 20)

How do I play doubles on this version?
Change difficulty with the up-left and up-right arrows, and choose either Freestyle (easy) or Nightmare (hard).
