    This scene gets me every time. I am literally bawling me eyes out, sobbing out loud, tissues all around me. I know the premise of the movie seems so cliche, but it is worth the time. It captures your emotions. The movie is relateable, even if you haven't lost your mom to cancer because you know how devastating it would be if it happened to you. When Ben says, "That's not good enough" and when Anna shakes her head crying after the mom says it's okay is the worst. Gets me every time.

    This video gets me everytime.
    I used to watch this with my mother and we would both cry together.
    My mom passed away from Cervical Cancer 10 months ago, and I just bawl everytime I see this movie.
    It's so sweet this movie but so depressing.

    By the time the Susan Sarandon character says," okay now with the whole family". I am a bucket full of tears. The look she gives the Julia Roberts character is I'm not going to make it, so raise my children. Luv it!!!

    I always cry during this ending because I can relate to it so much. My mother passed away from cancer the week after christmas when I was 14 and I remember just sitting by her side and saying the same kind of things to her. This ending is almost exactly how it played out with my younger sister and I, but it always gives me reassurance because I just think of what my mom told me. She'll always be with me and she'll always be there to guide me. Such a great movie; I love you mom ty for everything!

    You know? I've watched this movie dozens of times and am always so wrapped up in the moment that I've never actually noticed that Julia touches Susan's hand there at the end. I'm always so wrapped up in the amazing expressions on their faces that I've always missed that very subtle, very powerful gesture. An already remarkable scene just got that much better. Thanks for showing it here.

    'You have made my life so wonderful.' This line reminds me so much about the essence of humanity. It's not about money, or looks, or fame. It's about being with the people you love; mothers, daughters, fathers, sons, sisters, brothers, husbands, wives...the only thing that truly matters!

    I love this movie. I am always so touched by the friendship that eventually develops between mom and stepmom. My favorite scene in the movie is when Susan Sarandon asks Julie Roberts to meet her at a bar with the intention of apologizing to her for chewing her out. Julia's character confesses that she's worried about living in "mom's" shadow. "Look down the road to her wedding day......" starts the conversation and she ends with the fear that the daughter will be thinking "I wish my mom was here." and Susan Sarandon says, "and my fear is that she won't." It's heart breaking and has me in a puddle of tears surrounded by piles of used Kleenex.

    I met Susan Sarandon not to long ago and asked her about some trivia from this movie. She told me two things;
    1. It was her idea to put the song, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” in the movie. She was working out on a treadmill one day and the song came on and upon hearing it, she wanted in the movie.
    2. She is still in contact with the actors who played her kids.

That's why 80s and 90's movies like this are awesome and interesting and really get the emotions and ideas. This movie is so underrated, no constant foul language, and very well script. This gives me an idea for a movie that would people would like.

    My daughter's father and I split when she was a baby. A couple years later she would cry so hard when she had to leave me because she missed me at night. I told her if she needed me to touch her heart and know that I was thinking of her too and right there with her. She is 14 now and still remembers that. She also has a stepmom who happens to be my ex best friend. The only positive is I know how much she loves my child. I can not even IMAGINE having to prepare my child for anything longer then a couple nights. This movie is so beautiful, one of my favorites and I can not watch it without sobbing.
