TO start with, you're using OLD cactus! I get a GOOD crop of nopalitos TWICE a week, cause I like to serve my family fresh(and tender) nopalitos. There's SO MANY ways of preparing them. ALSO, the way you took the thorns off, sad! Next time, get a mexican Abuelita to show you how it's done! SOO simple! I will try MAKING my nopalito fries your way (using fresh, tender ones). Thank You for the receipe.😁
Thank you for this comment! I really had no clue what I was doing when picking or preparing the pad lol definitely did it wrong! I will find a fresh one next time! I’m sure your fries will come out much better 😊
You need to get the tiny nopales. That baby ones. That was is old. We throw those away. Lol the pears are like little pears and are purple and are sweet. It’s like full of seeds. Lol
Haha ya I totally picked the wrong one! I need to try it again with a younger pad. Didn’t know what I was doing but it was fun! Thank you for the comment!
I’ve had cactus. It’s really good to eat and very healthy. I’m not sure how exactly it’s supposed to be, but when I cooked it, I did it on the pan. It tasted a bit like asparagus. I’m not sure how to pick them. I saw it in a Mexican grocery store in the U.S and decided to give it a try
My favorite new channel. I've had grilled cactus at two different Mexican places in alabama. One place it was still slimy and the other place made it my new favorite food. It was so good.
Dude, yes. Here in Buffalo, NY we eat cactus all the time! You just need some Frank's Red Hot on it is all...PS I have that exact same Sony portable radio...Lol
I just tried cactus fries in Sedona, Arizona, at the Cowboy Club. They were delicious!!! I think you picked a wrong cactus and maybe didn’t cook it enough before frying it.
O.K., I've watched a few of your videos & now that I know you have a Firebox Stove I can subscribe! The PP Cactus in Western NE isn't as thick as the pad you used. We've grilled them a few times with spices and they turned out alright.
Haha thank you! I believe I picked a terrible pad (because I didn’t know much about it) I have since done some more research and believe I need to give it another try someday!
Yes.. I’m still suffering from heat stroke. Haha!
Nothing better than a honest youtuber, if it taste bad or weird, it is what it is! Great content like always! 👍👍👍
Thank you! Yup If I don’t like it you will know haha! 😂

Can fries be made with jarred
d napolitos
I believe you're supposed to peel them. The outer skin is tough. Mexican brands of it in jars are peeled. :)
Cool
I just get my cactus at the store.

Great video! Glad you survived that intense desert sun! Maybe next time you can try to cook a snake instead?!?! Might be good breaded 🤢
Haha I’m glad I survived too! I’m glad I wasn’t too far out and it didn’t come to that! Maybe I could eat snake, if I was starving to death Lol!
@@BaumGrillinzBBQ oh come on, snake might be good. If i see any when im on my cruise in a few weeks ill try it and let you know

Whats it taste like?
Not sure how to describe it.. i think I would of had a better description if I had a younger pad to eat. I picked a bad one lol
@@BaumGrillinzBBQ Read my comment up top!
