Apparently there is an inactive/left-over code in GTA V which was responsible for damage and car physics just like in GTA IV but they have deactivated it due to technical limitations of PS3/X360 which were really old consoles at the point of V release in 2013.
@@p13k4r3 hmm, so GTA IV that released on ps3 and xbox 360 in 2008 didnt have those limitations but in 2013 it was a problem? I saw a theory they didnt make destruction as big as in GTA IV because it would mess up with the first person view, like blocking your view etc
@@Dartnitt first person wasn't a thing until xbox one, PS4 and PC, the reason with the hardware limitation could be since GTA V map is bigger and has more vehicles than GTA IV
@@commanderblack5045 I dont know, its a weird reason, its not like more impactful car destruction would make the game significally heavier to run, especially that there are mods now that change that and it has no effect on the performance

They really need to bring back car physics and destruction from GTA IV to GTA VI
