  • As revealed in the Emerald Tablet, by Hermes Trismegistus, there are seven stages of spiritual alchemy.
The first stage is Calcination, which refers to the burning off of all the superfluous elements of ourselves, until we are purified and all that was calcified is removed.
Our preconceived notions about our identity and our beliefs are put to the test in the calcination stage. Our ideologies and neuroses lessen their grip on us and our true spirit begins to awaken during Calcination.

In inner alchemy, a different understanding to the process of calcination of superficial ego structures would be to focus on air - to enhance the inner fire, the soul's tendencies enough as to start dissolving the ego's bonds (i.e., understanding them from generation to completion by the veil of fire); This way, clusters form, they are slowly isolated from one another and the inner fire makes place among them. After enough effort in this direction, the inner fire takes up the majority of space in the superficial ego, thus enhancing a dormant property of the bonds and identity of ego (like a lighter on gas). From this point the isolated superficial egos can start dissolving into the fire from a position of complete control further enabling other practices. From this point I view the calcination process as an air process, it is about creating the right conditions, atmosphere, for the inner fire to manifest in such a specific and preseverent way - missteps generating disasters (if we view the process as the collapse of superficial ego into the inner fire, i.e., a fire process, such "disastrous" posibilities would not make much sense).
Hope this dimension of thinking may bring more clarity to further adepts of this subject.
Cool video editing, it really promotes a meditative and perceptive state of mind, curious about the next videos. 👍🏻

Thanks for sharing your depth of understanding and enhancing the discussion. I’ll work on step 2 when I can. If you send your thoughts I’ll try to incorporate them.

@@aleximou3BridgesWest Furthermore talking about the practical incorporation of inner alchemy (doing the ”first 3" stages at once) I think an important aspect of dissolution when used is to correctly adjust the dillution based on one's interaction with reality. By working the inner water, no amount of dillution, be it low or high, is permanent, while in the 3 stages it is vital to use water as a buffer for what may disturb the work from outside. This is an aspect I've not seen covered in detail.
Don't know what else to highlight on it. I wait for feedback.

Thanks for the insight, especially the clarity about water. I’ll incorporate the next three together. I appreciate your thoughts.

@@aleximou3BridgesWest yes, the 4th, conjuction would just be the body, the basis on which the 3 are applied. If one does not make damage by losing control over the practice, there's no need to alter anything and there's just a jump to 5.

I wonder where you heard this. I have a book that defines Thoth as "An Egyptian symbol of the Christ-mind. Related to Hermes/Mercury."
