Hardline “Life” album - Who Wants to Live Forever (Queen) Freddie Mercury tribute 2019

- Johnny Gioeli singing Hardline’s cover of the iconic Queen song “Who Wants to Live Forever.” The track will appear on the band’s sixth studio album, LIFE, as a tribute to singer Freddie Mercury and Queen. LIFE is releasing on April 26, 2019.
In 1991, I was recording the most career-changing and musically creative projects of my life -Hardline’s “Double Eclipse”. During the recording of this album, we lost one of the most epic, talented, unique, creative and authentically real humans - singer and songwriter, Freddie Mercury. I was certainly a Queen fan, but never focused on the intricate details of the music and the band. In 1993, Hardline was on tour with the band Extreme in the UK, and I had the pleasure to perform at Wembley Arena and meet the great Brian May. What a gentleman. Humble. Real. Talkative. Human. I still envision my girlfriend (now wife) sitting with him and his wife in the catering area having dinner, chatting and laughing. I’m looking and thinking..OMG. that’s Brian May!!!! It will live in my mind forever.
Here we are 25+ years later, and I feel the need to pay tribute to one of the greatest singers ever. I did this to pay homage to Freddie, as so many of us singers understand his worth in the history of rock and roll. The new movie certainly added to the inspiration.
Please enjoy Hardline’s version of “Who Wants To Live Forever.” I hope I have done Freddie and Queen proud in this remake. I poured my heart and soul into every word as best I could. I'm a guitar player of 41 years and I can only dream of having a voice like yours as a singer. Your talent only comes along a few times in a generation. I don't mean to be blowing smoke up your...I have followed your career for almost 30 years. You, by far, are my favorite singer of all time. Of course, there are great voices out there, but there is just something about your glottal compression and tone that sets you apart from the rest. My dream supergroup would be you, Doug Aldrich, somebody like Rudy Sarzo or Marco Mendoza, and Brian Tichy or Tommy Aldridge. Maybe even throw in a Reb Beach and you would have the ultimate Rock band of all time. I loved the old Hardline with Neal Schon and your brother. But it seems you are taking the band, Hardline, to new heights! Man, keep up the great work and please keep those powerful, inspiring songs coming. BTW, you are on my top 10 list of great people I would love to meet one day!
OMG! I just read my comment to you, @Johnny Gioeli, and I sound like a teenaged metal fan idolizing his favorite band. I'm 57, have been a long time metal and Rock guitar player. I just had to laugh at myself. but that's what your voice does, I guess! Makes me long for those ol' glory days!

Send love through would be a great idea for a cover since the masters were accidentally destroyed in a fire at Nelvana studios in 83 it was sung by robin Zander and Debbie Harry for the film rock & rule which’s Canadian cut aka its original cut was also lost in yeh Same fire with the Lou reed tracks only versions are a dusty cassette tape or reconstructions from the various versions on the internet.it’s just an idea given the rough times have given me a lot to think about

In terms of vocals it's better than both original and Adam Lambert's version. Adam Lambert sings higher, though, his voice spectrum is way thinner.
