I faithfully add organic matter to my spots every year......plus the mulch I put on. Gotta love a compact tractor with a tiller I would be lost without the one my landlord has !!!! Merry Christmas ☺💕
At 11:35 I didn't know rocks could grow Danny! ROFL! I knew exactly what you said but it struck me as funny thinking rocks could grow! Sorry I haven't been to sleep yet! Insomnia... Merry Christmas Danny and Wanda! Enjoy your holidays hopefully with family.
If its a male, Frost. Its winter and bull rider Lane Frost. Lu Lu if a female. Love the build cant wait to see the metal arrive, along with planting for spring. Merry Christmas Danny/Mrs. Wanda, may the Lord continue to bless you both and the farm.
Hello everyone. I'm new at planting and growing food. Got a question can I plant seeds directly into the soil in my garden or do I have to first plant seeds in a container than transfer to soil? Thank you all for your help
Generally, plants do best growing where they are planted because moving them disturbs their roots. People start transplants indoors to get a jump on the season for plants that take longer to maturity than the local growing season has. There are many ways to extend the growing seasons, both earlier and later. Research online; there’s a whole education available and you learn best by finding out for yourself.
Really appreciate yall showing exactly what fertilizer you are using, and, telling us what plant it is for. I'm going to try to keep up with you on some crops, and, it helps to know what you use. Thanks!
Think I'm finally caught up on y'alls video. The bombing in Nashville knocked out a good portion of Kentucky's infrastructure. No cell phone, internet or 911. The stores were cash only. I don't own a TV so I was in complete silence 36 hours and didn't find out until 24 hrs later about the bombing by making a run to a local restaurant. Glad I'm back online, I missed watching y'all. Great job cleaning up those rolls Wanda. That is some fine looking dirt Danny, tilled up just right and ready for them English Peas. Onions look mighty fine and the English Peas look really good too. Y'all have that garden touch. Those Cows, gotta love em, they have such personality. God bless!
I have the same problem with ground cover - just a bit of excess dirt on top and weeds are sprouting and growing roots through the cover. Name for the new bull - Dandy
how can it be cold if your getting rain, if you have rain, that is warm,, i am just up loading what we got after a 38 hour snow storm, witch is normal. but about 2 weeks early this year for the big ones. with temp of 27 below and a wind chill of 36 below

Here in Maine, we have carpenter ant issues all around our garden...we use dry sugar and Borax powder mixed together and so far it works...we have very tall pine trees and the ants eat out the inside of trees, then the trees fall...we mix up a solution and sprinkle it heavy all around the base of trees...ants will take the powder back to nest and soon the ants dispatch themselves...
Danny, would you consider putting in a railroad tie retaining wall southwest of the new cabin (small shed) where you talked about on the video? The retaining wall could bring up the ground plain in 4 foot lifts so that you would have a flat plain next to the shed to make driving around the shed a lot easier than right now.
four weeks.. wow... we have 2 months till we start plants and can't put them out till the first of May.... there are some things i most definately miss about living in the south, but i love my snow here in Kansas too... so.. i will just enjoy watching ya'll plant.... Merry Christmas
Hi, Danny and Wanda, I was wondering ,how did your high tunnels do during any of the hurricanes, We are debating staying here in Fla.or moving to Mo.. I am wondering how it will do (the high tunnels) during hurricanes
You mentioned potting up a peach tree. I would be interested in what size pot you will be using, and, if you know where to obtain something similar. I am ordering some fruit trees to pot up for the first yr at least. I have some of the large black cattle mineral tubs I plan to use, but, if I need something bigger, I need to try and get it now. I'm afraid pots are likely to be hard to come by this spring. One last question, what gowing zone are you in?
Its days like your having that you appreciate the protection that you get from both windshields. My Ranger use is on hold for next several months. Our temp with the windchill is 25 below zero and we had about 10 " of snow last night.
Good morning Danny and Wanda I'm going to have to wait until April before I can plant anything zone 6 the she shed is coming along nicely it looking good Happy Holiday Danny and Wanda and Stay Safe 💝💝💝
Maggie Sue, or Maxamillion or just Max. Thanks for sharing. In 4 to 6 weeks we'll still be looking at snow ! 18 out this evening. Happy Holiday's to you 2 and the family. Stay safe and healthy. God bless
This inspires me to start a homestead. Will be a bit in the future but love the content guys. I learning the art of gardening myself right now. Thanks again!
Oh, your video makes me want to get out in the garden but it'll be about 3 months before I'll be able to do that. Cold and windy in Wisconsin this morning.
Merry Christmas y'all!!! Girl - Holly and Boy - Nick :) Just ordered the last 3 packets of seeds needed for the garden, but won't be planting outside for a while. Had a foot of snow last week and downpours yesterday and into today (Christmas Day), Thank you both for another great video! Much love and blessings!!
Danny, how well do you like your Kubota? I’ve had a sub compact for 17 years and love it, but have been thinking of sizing up a little and was wondering how the bigger tractors perform and hold up. The build looks great by the way!

Merry Christmas first of all. Since you have ponds, and you love to experiment, have you considered chinampas, those sorta floating gardens that the Aztecs used to grow food in the middle of the cities? I would love to see you try one of those on at least one of your ponds.

Do a video when you replant the peach trees

Can we use tomato fertilizer on our garlic and onions instead?
As long as it's high in nitrogen.

Another benefit from bones is they're rich in Phosphorus, a vital nutrient that is often in short supply.
Gotta love what phosphorus and calcium will add to your soil. Heck i paid plenty of money thru the years for bonemeal.
