This is the hardest project that I've designed and built! I'd just like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped get it over the line, and particularly to my dad who helped me the most when things got tight. I also want to thank each and every one of you for being interested in my projects! I couldn't do it without you viewers so thanks for watching!

A thorough joy to watch not just your process but how much enjoyment you get out of it personally, and how you share that pleasure with those you love.
I don't know if you've heard of Tim Hunkin (you probably have) but this one felt like an episode of The Secret World of Machines. Tim is still going and now making videos for RUclips, and I think a collab with him even just sharing notes on building projects would be unmissable.

Nobody (or very few) are talking about the fact that Matt has put all this effort into those speakers and yet they have not been tested on camera! That speaker build was insane, especially the subwoofers! I am surprised footage of the sound quality didn't make the cut in the final version. I am sure it sounded well, I had quality headphones on standby waiting for that portion to come! Nonetheless, absolutely fantastic job and I was very pleased to see your name on the Guinness World Record certificate. Well deserved!

There is something left to be said about the single HDMI cable between the TV and the computer hardware behind it.
It's quite contrasting how 4 differential pairs push all that signaling when you see all the ribbon cables scattered around, from the PCIe cable for the GPU to all the interals from the TV.
As someone who's built giant stuff for various production houses, WELL DONE.
I hope you'll be able to wind down after all that stress and backbreaking work. You've outdone yourself yet again and deserve some good rest.
Knock on wood that hopefully nothing happens by the time Guinness World Records comes over.
Here's an anecdote: when I built world's largest Game Boy replica, I was doing some finishing touches at the museum where GWR was going to hold a photoshoot. I painted some finishing touches and was gone for half an hour and the whole project fell on the floor after someone accidentally pressed a light switch, but the switch controlled a gate.
Apparently the project was resting against a gate, how about that.
Well, with the original Game Boy circuit board behind it getting damaged and a few structural parts I had about 3 hours to fiw it before GWR's team came over.
Luckily I had my childhood Game Boy with me and had a spare FPGA board, it was a bit painful but that was the quickest I had ever soldered.
The whole project was a rollercoaster of stress and overcoming problems, but definitely worth it on many levels. The most important being the amount of improvement in skills that came with it; soft skills such as handling stress and all the skills required in producing the project in itself with limited tools.
Anyway, thanks for the inspiration and congratulations. 🎉

I built one much like that big fancy one Matt made using a standard bowens mount reflector. It's not amazing, but it's very small and cheap. You can also get more expensive and larger bowens mount modifiers that work better.
Instead of making a gigantic tank of water to put in front I was able to use the filter mount in the reflector to put the filter much closer to the light and therefore make it much smaller.
Also containing water is a massive pain (not to mention heavy), but I found out that certain clear bathroom silicone caulk has the same effect. it's so much easier to work with, you just squeeze it into a mold and wait a couple days for it to dry and you never have to worry about leaks or water getting gross. I believe I used clear GE bathroom silicone (the cheapest stuff in home depot), but you might wanna try out a couple of different ones to find the one that looks the best. The filter I made works really great though.

Hey Mr Bloom! The front camera is an OBSBot Tiny 2 with all its pan/tilt features removed. I found it to be the 'webcam' with the best image quality by a significant margin (same class as a DJI Pocket 3 imo).
The other cams are indeed a bit tricky, but it was the best combo I could find. The Sony presents itself to be connected to as soon as the phone is plugged into mains power (the camera is left 'on' so when usb power is detected it activates). As for the Canon, the rings need to be removed (they're magnetic) and an FN button pressed followed by a confirmation on the touchscreen, which connects it to a mobile hotspot that the phone is also connected to, so it's able to be accessed whenever without disrupting Internet access. It's a bit convoluted but it's the best I could come up with!

There are certaintly plenty of people who do this, being an expert on glue is a true skill. Did you know that on modern air planes many parts are glued? Because it brings less tension than welding, has better behavior if entering failure mode etc (a glue will bend, while a weld will break) and so on.
