Like if it was a natural suicide where tf are his feet??? If a squirrel or bird or something took it after it fell off (again.. even that sounds weird because it would have smelled and had the decomposition falling from the tree… sorry but I’m being realistic. And he would have like … eh nvm) but someone would have likely seen a squirrel or bird eating a human foot unless it was perfectly dragged out of sight. But if that’s the case… where is the decomposition material that should be in the soil? Did they test the soil? I AM SPIRALING.

I live in Missouri, only some minutes away from Trenton and my cousin is the one who actually told me about this case while it was going on. I can absolutely attest to the fact that this state doesn't have dry heat. At all. Ever. Summers are always incredibly hot and humid and storms are very common. Everyone who lives in and around Trenton knows he didn't commit suicide. But, when you have the authorities saying he did most people who aren't from around here tend to believe it. Everyone around here knows he was murdered and everyone knows who did it.

A good friend of mine - the type of friend who was always smiling and joking, and would do whatever to put a smile on your face, the type of friend who was always there and would never fail to reach out just to see how you’re doing - walked out of the house one day in a seemingly happy and content mood, and hung himself in a small wooded area on the side of the highway. A homeless man was the unfortunate soul who eventually found him…
Sometimes we just don’t really know what someone is going through internally. They become so good at hiding it because they don’t want you to hurt or feel the way they do. It unfortunately happens far too often. However, I’m not so sure that’s what happened here. This is a tough one. I start to lean in one direction, but then I think of all the other circumstances that just don’t fit or make sense. Either way, whatever the truth may be, I hope his family finally gets the answers and peace of mind that they deserve.

I feel so much for his family and friends. I've unfortunately witnessed how police can just brush off the death of an addict and not truly investigate. I had a good friend who unfortunately got herself into a bad cycle with drugs. She would be clean for a year and then fall back in with her old crowd and relapse. During one of those relapses, she was found outside a trailer with red markings on her neck. Police said she died of exposure and closed the case. Thats still how it remains today a few years later despite everyone thinking her friends that were in the trailer know more than what they are saying. She was so much more than just a drug addict, but that's all the police will see.

My husband’s cousin was brutally attacked and left for dead a few years ago. He’s barely alive, will never walk again, has had multiple strokes, can’t live without medical assistance. He had a couple of minor drug convictions and the cops decided on scene that he was jumped for drugs and they weren’t going to investigate. He had a joint left in his pocket but his shoes, wallet, shirt and hat were missing. He was also beaten elsewhere and dropped where he was found. The cops don’t seem to think a crime was committed because he has a past with drugs. It’s absolutely infuriating. We lost all evidence years ago, no one swabbed him for any DNA even though he had multiple massive defensive wounds. Whatever was used to crush his skull left behind evidence which was just tossed. They do not care.

I know the family hired a PI but other than that I don’t know if they ever found any answers. Of course it’s possible that’s what happened, but with that much clean time it’s just as likely that something else happened to her. You could hold a gun on someone and force them to shoot themselves, threaten their family. The most likely scenario is that his body wasn't there and someone put it afterwards. If he was going to kill himself, at least one person in his family or friends would have noticed something in his behavior, maybe not realizing it at the time, but after learning what happened they probably would. It makes no sense, this looks like a crime scene setup to throw the investigation off track. I have no idea, but that's how it looks to me

I think it's really hard to have an opinion on things like his feet when the information available is so vague. (For example his feet were missing as in there were clean cuts, or his feet were missing as in decay/scavenger activity. In my opinion, when it is hot and humid out, all sorts of things would happen to a decomposing body. Without going into too much detail, animals and insects would definitely have been involved and the body would not be able to stay intact, hanging from the neck. The human body has gases that start to break down after just a few minutes. He could not have been there for 6 months in a hot & humid environment. I do not believe that at all. Someone had to have put his body there recently, prior to him being discovered. I am praying for this family. 🙏 sending nothimg but love and good vibes. Thank you for covering this case. Honestly I don't believe the police had anything to do with whatever happened, but I do believe they weren't too concerned when he went missing. A year ago he had been a pain in their butt from what this says, they probably figured he just went on a drug run that turned to a binder. They eventually looked into it if they went to that farm. The police chief did ask the community not to go out looking for him because we could mess up evidence if there was any or get hurt snakes love woods. I know my mother tried to go looking but at the time she was very sick and blessing internally so was only able to look inside one vacant house but only threw the windows. If you believe he hung himself there, ask yourseld, " Do you really believe with the population of busy body's what it is here that nobody would call the FDA. If they smelled something like that?" This is just a speculation, but it's possible that he mentioned a random name that wasn't real to his mom because he was going to meet some person he didn't want his family to know about. He was young with a new family of his own, maybe at some point he felt that he needed money in order to meet the needs, he may think that he had no other choices in a small place like that, but to go to his past. And, unfortunately, that's exactly what happens sometimes in these situations. Such a small place where everyone knows everyone, it is possible for someone to know something and not talk.

The whole "no sawing on the bark" thing doesn't make sense. He doesn't have to have been hoisted from ground level. If a group of people came out in the night with a ladder, they wouldn't have to hoist his body by dragging the rope over the branch, they could just tie it from the top of the ladder. It could also explain why the hanging doesn't seem like a drop hanging - he wouldn't be able to ease himself off a 20ft branch, but other people could ease him down with very little difficulty, creating the conditions of a suspension hanging.
His feet being missing feels a lot like a revenge/torture aspect, and the smashed up apartment with his favourite hat sitting in the middle of it says a hell of a lot as well. Nothing about this looks like a suicide.

His hat being at Jeremiah's is proof he was there that day and it makes perfect sense that a drug-dealing hoodlum would want revenge, and would do the same thing, since they can't exactly go to the cops. As far as why Tanner randomly went over there, he could've needed money and thought J was an easy target but the tables turned when he realized more people were there, showed up or J pulled a gun first, etc. Tanner didn't plan on being gone long so that smacks of a 'quick robbery' to me. The newness and excitement of turning ones life around eventually becomes mundane, he very well could've had that itch for some quick cash, especially with the pressures of a new family. When I read mummified hands I instantly thought 'freezer'. During decomp, skin sluffs off so signs of torture would definitely be gone. 20ft isn't that high, it would be easy for Jeremiah and his crew to eventually go out and hang him. If the hyoid bone was intact then they definitely did a suspension hanging period. Lastly, as I said, 20 ft isn't that high - everyone is acting as though they'd have to look waaaaay up in the tree to see him. 20 feet is equivalent to two kayaks or two basketball hoops so he would have definitely been seen and smelled. With that said, the caller that said he was hanging somewhere else and then moved there absolutely makes sense due to the elongation of the body and loss of feet. Honestly the cops were just over it. One less criminal to worry about. It's terrible that some police stations are like that but there's always bad apples everywhere in everything. Look at Steven Avery's situation, my stars, if that doesn't convince people of police corruption nothing will!

Jeremy's case has many things in common with Tanner's, including police indifference and clinging to the suicide theory despite obvious evidenceto the contrary. Absolutely everything points to homicide. That M.E. is brain-dead...

That's how we're all going to end up one of these days. Embalming doesn't last long at all. We turn into a stinky, smelly, thick soup inside of a small box. The smell lasts for decades under the ground. Not for me. Cremation is the way to go. Over and done with in a few hours.

The smell is unforgettable. Pungent and sweet in a horrific way. I used to work in body removal and the smell would linger in clothing for days, even after washing. No way no one could smell him if he'd been there for a long time. Plus the scavengers would be noticeable. Nature doesn't waste a thing.

The bs attitude that some people have towards addicts, sex workers and/or people with criminal records drives me up a friggin wall.
Now, I know that what I'm about to say might sound a little crazy but please hear me out before you pass judgment.
I've heard plenty of people say that certain events that took place in Europe during the 1930s and 1940s couldn't possibly happen today.
Sentiments like that make me want to laugh in their faces and say, "Where did you get a stupid idea like that from? It's already happening. It happens every day in the US."
    Why do I say that?
Because few people see addicts, sex workers, criminals and/or gang members as people who are worthy of sympathy, respect, justice or even general acceptance
I'm sure that toxic minded people would be more than willing to pop right up and say, "That's completely different. It's not the same thing at all."
Yes, it is...as a matter of fact, it's exactly the same.
In both cases, members of a minority group are seen as lesser creatures and, therefore, of less importance than the rest of society and easily cast aside like week old donuts.
Just because the members of a particular minority group aren't being eliminated in a methodically organized and industrial manner doesn't change a thing.
Sorry for going off on a rant like that...hypocrisy makes me so mad that I feel like my head is going to explode.

Listening to your description of suspension hanging kills me. I can’t help but wonder about my friends who chose that option. Did they instantly regret their choice? Did they try to back out but couldn’t? How long did they have to suffer and what were they thinking during that time? Did they know how long it would take? How terrible it would be? Did they think it would be more like a drop hanging? In the time it took to go unconscious before death, did they change their mind?
Suicide is not to be taken lightly but i feel that when a suspicious death is essentially “written off” as a suicide, there’s a huge disconnect between those who decide its suicide and those who know suicide intimately and know what it would take to go through with it. I’ve had a death date, planned for months, and still couldn’t go through with it.
Also…how did he get 20ft up? Did they find a ladder? Were branches low enough to climb up? Sounds like a coverup to me

While reading your comment, it really resonated with me.. then i saw "I've had a death date planned for months.." 😔 please don't 🙏 😢 😭
When i had those same thoughts, I told my sister in law, and she really fkd me up when she told me that when we commit suicide that we come back and live the same life until we get through it naturally.. 💔 oh HELL NO.
we never know when we will die, and it's not us who decides, but i BELIEVE TOTALLY that there IS SOMETHING else beyond this life. My 82 yr old dad just passed away on May 5 2023 (he was diagnosed with dementia a month ago) but 5 days before his death (((this is a true story))) i had cleaned & changed him, got him all comfy and settled in his bed.. and he was unmedicated at the time.. as he closed his eyes in comfort and snuggled down, his eyes popped open, and he was staring over my right shoulder, he reached up and his face had the MOST beautiful look , and he was throwing kisses kisses kisses and talking to someone (i did look over my shoulder, just in case) but he saw SOMETHING SO BEAUTIFUL.. and 5 days later, he passed. I SAW the look he had.. and i understand.. people have different ideas of the "afterlife" or lack of.. but when you SEE it happen, its impossible to deny.. and that's not the only time something otherworldly has happened to me, and i don't claim to know every answer.. people believe in different ideas.. but please know that you are important, you are not just taking up space, and when your time comes naturally, you will also know the joy of pure love. ❤️ you are loved

I’m glad you brought up FOIA, because while you were describing the ways in which local law enforcement seems to be stonewalling this family in a willful attempt to withhold information….I wondered to myself if they had tried to get the files through a FIOA request. In every case similar to this one there will be certain details that police don’t want to share with the general public, especially the victim’s family members. There will be details that law enforcement believes will cause unnecessary trauma - details that might prompt vigilante justice seekers to take the law into their own hands - details about persons of interest that could result in physical danger toward innocent people before they can be officially cleared - details that only the killer would know, which police purposely withhold from the public to confirm knowledge of the crime & scene while questioning a suspect - and a whole bunch of other reasons….but that’s all stuff that can be redacted by law enforcement before releasing it. It doesn’t make any sense for them to refuse to provide a full police report for a case that’s closed after being officially “solved” to the victim’s direct family. Those files are public domain. There are even people/clubs/groups/organizations that review cold case files to seek resolution & those cases are still officially open cases, but they are given the files by police without problems.
This family should submit a FOIA request - they deserve to see all of the evidence for themselves. And law enforcement should WANT them to see the case files if they’re telling the complete truth about the results of their investigation - the files would back them up, right? It feels like something very important is being hidden from them, but I can’t figure out what that might be

    • @wvgal7788
      @wvgal7788 Год назад +5

I agree. If the police feel like they did a thorough investigation amd truly stand behind it, they should hand that over, no problem. The family should definitely file for that and get third party to go over it as well. I pray they find the truth and get the answers they deserve. My deepest condolences. 💔

Most times that law enforcement doesn't want to release files, is because it makes them look bad.

Old Jeremiah is an informant. When the "hostage scenario" takes place it's usually because they owe money to the dope dealer, or they ARE the dope dealer.

I think the whole situation is sus af, but the phsycial evidence points to suicide. When the circumstantial evidence indicates one thing, but the phsycial evidence firmly shows something else, I stick with the phsycial evidence.
Also, regarding no one smelling the decomp: I live in southern Illinois on the border of Missouri and during the summer we get the smell of decomp all the time. Animals in sewers or ditches or streams and the smell will linger for days and weeks. It's very possible people DID smell his body, but assumed it was dead wildlife like it is 99.9% of the time.
