You are 100% the reason why I went natural 5 years ago and I thank you for the inspiration. I love your other videos but a good hair video once in awhile is great. Your hair is Beautiful!!!!
I'm so glad!
OMGoodness. I would have never guessed that your hair was so long. The shrinkage is insane. Your curls are absolutely gorgeous .
Lol I know right. Whenever I wear a wash and go I always get asked if I cut my hair lol
The cut came out nice but that might not necessarily be heat damage in the front. There was a time when I didnt use heat for years., kept trimming my bangs and my front was still loose. A hairdresser explained to me we stretch the front alot with hairstyles, ponytails, braids etc. causing the curl pattern in the front to loosen.
💯👏🏾 I'm glad somebody said it
This is true. I stopped wearing ponytails during the pandemic and my curls in the crown and bang area regained their texture in a few months.
it was definitely heat damage. I got right after flat ironing my hair
I agree, do what you like with your hair. Why didn’t the entire strand of hair not look like the end part if heat was applied to the entire strand or all of the hair that was in contact with the heat? I’m asking because I’m trying to learn and understand. Is it possible that your curl pattern is different throughout your head
@@waterca178 normally heat damage will affect the ends of the hair first. Now some times you will see it throughout the hair but for people who don’t use heat often it’s normally towards the ends from what I’ve noticed. My sisters was on her ends and she only straighten once a year. I’ve never straighten my hair since going on my natural hair journey and it’s been almost 10 years so I think I will get it straighten for the Christmas holidays this year and I’m hoping I don’t get any damage.
Wow! This is what you call professional and quality service! Excellent job, looks fantastic!
Thank you
I wish we had such Talented Curl Stylist in Germany. It looks sooo good.
And Italy 😭
Ladies with type 4 hair.. pay attention to detail. This was the perfect wash n go. Raking product through hair in smaller sections then drying.
This is by far the best natural hair care tutorial I have ever seen. Which I could find a natural hair stylist in my area. Thanks
Wow, thank you!
Shanique you literally held my hand virtually as i began transitioning and eventually becoming natural. All of your twist out and braid out videos saved me in high-school lol now my goal is waistlength hair! We have similar hair so I've been using your tips for years! I love that you continue doing what's best for your hair 🥰
Love your “Curly Cut”! I agree I love getting my hair washed at the salon.
thanks girl!!
So true about sitting under the dryer. I’m not a wash and go natural but I have noticed better results when I would sit under a dryer versus air drying.
I like how gentle she is
You've always had such thick beautiful hair. And yeah, you'll get your length back.
Yes! Thank you!
She was so gentle with your hair.
yes she was :)
I didn’t see damaged hair but if you like it I love it. She definitely CUT it!👀
Your hair is gorgeous. The hair can be cut in the way that you wear it most. You can also request a stretched cut (lightly blown out and cut symmetrically). after it’s styled curly your stylist will go in and take any rogue curls. This way when you’re ready to twistout I’d flat iron you will have more symmetry.
I’m a Texture Expert/Tight Curly stylist in Sch’dy (2 hrs from Montreal.. 6 from Toronto).
I love the points you made. Heat sets product absorption, prevents uneven drying, breakage and major shrinkage. I don’t recommend air drying. Your curls are beautiful!
Hello, out of curiosity why not air drying?
@@Loved_24 I don’t want to bombard someone else’s platform but as a quick answer, air drying prevents even drying because of constant air flow and the temperature raising and lowering, an unknown dew point (which can cause frizzing “poofy” and shrunken hair), it prevents product absorption, and an unpredictable outcome of styling. Those are a few. I recommend a dome dryer as the best option then a blow dryer as second (as well as a finishing tool). Don’t use a diffuser for tight curls (it’s made for wavy hair) use the concentrator attachment. I go in depth in the salon and in my guide. You’ll see the difference with dome drying as Shanique pointed out.
@@LavidaLovesCoils hey, do you have an Instagram?
Yes you have another one. I would watch your videos religiously in 2016 when I started transitioning and in 2017 when I first was natural. Thank you girl, from “Journey to Waist length to now Shanique Buntyn. Thank you girl, now I’m a little past bra strap length. It’s great seeing your videos again.
that's my favorite part, the scrubbing when shampooing.Aslo the wash in general.
Yes it feels so good!
Thank you for telling us aboutbyiur full experience with these kinds of cuts etc. Transparent and informative as usual from this channel. Your hair looks beautiful.
Glad you enjoyed it!

The level of detail you've showed us in this video is really good 🌼 I'd love to see an at-home version of this as a YT tutorial - product name/type, amount of product used, technique & maintenance 🙏
This is absolutely fantastic. Highly impressed. 🙏🏾
Thank you so much!
I almost fell asleep and it’s not even my scalp getting washed. I need to take a weekend getaway to Toronto
When you shared, “I personally don’t like washing my own hair…” I was like “YES - THIS RIGHT HERE 😂”
Sunday is my Wash Day and I’m constantly trying to figure out how to skip from Saturday to Monday, because I too have a lot and long hair.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!!

Hi, my granddaughter has the same texture of hair, she is of the age 13 where she no longer wants the little girly styles. I will try this method when next she has an event to attend. For school I just do twist. It's just so much hair to deal with. Your style came out really nice ❤️
Thanks for sharing!!
Gorgeous cut💕
Thank you! 😊
Love this! Thank you
You're so welcome!
I loveeee your results ! I too had to start over I had stress alopecia then got covid my hair took a huge hit 😰 but the Lord has healed me any my hair recovery is flourishing now🙌🙌🙏.I pray both our new hair Journeys are successful.God bless
Loving your hair as always 👍🏾
Thank you!!
The cut is so cute
Thanks girl!
The cut is lovely I really like it. She did a great job.👌💜 I've been looking at the Cut It Kinky stylists, and they have some cute shapes for cuts as well. I don't plan to get a short cut I just like looking at all the angles they create. My hair is healthy so it only needs small trims, and my aunt does them for me. I don't really have a length goal I'm just letting it grow as long as it wants. Recently I decided to let it grow to tailbone length, but I held it at hip length for almost two years. Unlike you, I don't like getting my hair shampooed by other people. Instead, I totally enjoy being in the shower and letting the water run down my strands and body. It's very relaxing for me.
So beautiful I love how your hair turned out. I have a dryer I can sit under I will try this to avoid shrinkage as it is an issue for me too!! Beautiful cut and definition!!
You are so welcome
Love it!
So glad!
Beautiful cut and the shrinkage is soo real soo healthy looking ❤❤❤
Thank you
Very Nice. thank you for the tip regardiing cut and changing to silk press
No problem!
Your hair looks lovely💗
Thank you so much
Love you cut. You are not attached to length but health.
Thanks for the thorough video and the tips
No problem!
Thank you for sharing your salon wash n go. I was especially interested in seeing your stylist's use of Mos Def Mousse coupled with gel. I've tried the mousse only wash and go and it doesn't look the best once dried so I've been in search for tips from someone with a similar hair type.
Wow, your hair looks amazing! 😍
Thank you so much 😀
beautiful and thanks for sharing. going to purchase hooded dryer.
You are so welcome!
She did a great job styling and shaping 😍 Embrace the length! I miss this length it’s a breeze to twist.

Nice work! I may have to invest in a hooded hair dryer.
You should!
Gorgeous!
Thank you! 😊
The 3 day reveal is so pretty 🤗 really beautiful
I think so too!
I am getting a cut soon as well. Too many split ends. Hopefully this time I will get regular trims so this won’t happen again.
I love it❤️
glad you do
Cut looks lovely, like the way it is styled at the end of video!
What lipstick shade are you wearing? Looks 👌🏾
Looks really good 🌺
Thank you 😋
beautiful caz I love it
Thank you!
Please keep me updated on your waist-length journey. That's my goal this time around. I've been in my hair for 2 weeks and im seeing results
Will do!!
Your hair turn out beautiful, I love curly hair, my hair is 3c4a! Wash and his I ❤️
Thank you!!
Beautiful hair! Curly cuts work best for folks who don't wear it their hair straight. If you're wearing it straight, hair should be blowdried and lightly straightened to see the ends.
Yup I agree. I mentioned this a few times in this video
@@ShaniqueBuntyn Your hair is beautiful it's healthy, shiny and the definition is everything❤
I like it. Curls are more defined
Yes I’m so happy the damage is gone

Thank you! Cheers!
C'est magnifique ❤❤❤❤
merci!
Your hair is gorgeous! Jenn is my stylist too and she's awesome!
Thank you so much!!
Great video 💖
Thank you
@@ShaniqueBuntyn Ya'Welcome
Very beautiful as always! I’m very curious to see what it looks like when you straighten it; because I think what you said about curly cuts looking choppy when straightened may be based on the method used by the stylist. I don’t think all curly cuts are the same.
they arent the same but i definitely have a few areas that are really long and really short. but i dont think its as bad as some curly cuts ive seen
Your hair looks really nice and healthy! Are you planing to do the inversion method again?
Thank you! No, ’m in no rush to grow my hair out again.
She did a awesome job look very nice on you.
Thank you so much!
Beautiful cut! Random what kind of Apple Watch do you have? Series? Size?
I have the SE size 44mm
Looking very beautiful 😍 👌 ❤
Thank you 😊
Nice ❤
Thanks 🔥
Your hair looks beautiful.
Thank you so much
🥰
Hey!
@@ShaniqueBuntyn hey! I'm so excited to see the new look.
Hair👍🏽
I started the natural hair journey about almost 2 year and just need to know what can I use to maintain it less tangled or what oils are recommended and detagling comb it’s best to use for less breakage as my hair gets really notted? Thanks
Hi! I started mine 3 years ago, and African argon oil , jajoba oil, and coconut oil has helped my hair tremendously! I'm still trying to figure out the detangling too, my brushes are hard bristle and takes out hair but combs don't do me any good either so idk lol
For some reason the links for the shampoo and conditioner isn't working.
Thanks for letting me know. I’ll update the description box
Your hair looks great. Is she taking new clients? would love to get my hair done.
She should be.
And thanks!
Love your hair didn’t like like how she cut your hair
Your always supposed to sit under a dryer for every hairstyle even twist outs and braid outs , hooded dryer help set the style 💯
What if you don’t have a hooded dryer?
@@jayd524 you can use a diffuser attachment on a hag held blow dryer too but a hooded dryer is better . It's best to budget and save up for one.
Freaking Gorgeous
Thank you so much!
Did she use warm water to rinse? Did you have your hair steamed?
Hey she’s used Warm water and no steam. She only did exactly what was shown/mention in this video.
😭😭 health over length ❤
All day every day!
