The Best Value in Adventure/Dual Sport Boots: 2 Year Alpinestars Corozal Boots Review

  • I've been wearing and loving the Alpinestars Corozal boots for two full years now. I've worn them on and off the road. I've worn them in the snow, mud, rain, and heat. I've even worn them as my only footwear for multi-day camping and riding trips. Not once have these adventure motorcycle boots let me down. The short version of my Alpinestars Corozal review? They're amazing dual sport boots.
Check out the Alpinestars Corozal Boots: bit.ly/3mNXEEY
If you're looking for the best value in waterproof adventure motorcycle boots or waterproof dual sport boots, it's hard to overlook the quality of the Alpinestars Corozals. I've put thousands of miles on these boots and my overall Alpinestars corozals review is overwhelmingly positive. The Alpinestars DryStar liner does an excellent job of keeping your feet dry, and the overall protection of the Corozal boots is fantastic. How do I know? I dropped my fully loaded Africa Twin on my foot wearing the Corozals, and I escaped relatively unscathed. The Alpinestars Corozal adventure boots are amazing, comfortable, and sturdy and I give them my highest possible recommendation. Honestly.
I paid for my Alpinestars Corozals with my own money, and I don't regret a cent.

"accidently" drank a 12 pack. Good stuff right there. I understand...it happens. Love your vids. I used to backpack/tent camp years ago. Stopped for a couple decades and now getting into motocamping. (Been riding for 46 yeaars, now have an 08 KLR with tons of mods) Your advice and videos are very helpful in getting new gear together. So far I have been on 3, 2 night trips. Still refining my stuff and hoping to do a LOT more of it. I bought the Gaerne Balance Boots in 2017 and love them as well. Very comfortable and easy to walk in. Have several thousand miles on them.

As always, great video, love your content! I've had these same boots for almost two years now and same exact experience. I've dropped my KTM 790 on it several times with no damage to me or the boots. They have held up very well and keep feet dry. Squeaky but I can live with that. I'm thinking of a MX boot for my dual sport single track days but not sure yet. Love these boots!

Went out to the Get On! ADV Fest last year with these boots, and the first day out I managed to "drop" the bike straight on my big toe wearing these. The rear end of the bike dropped into a heavy rut, which pulled the front end up in the air, then the bike fell sideways (and straight into my toe as mentioned). I broke my toe, which should tell you how hard the bike hit the ground, even with all of the protection these Corozal's offer. I can only imagine what it would have been without the protection of the boots (likely an amputated toe).
Oh, and along with the broken toe, I managed to crush the crash bars into the bike, and couldn't pull them back out by hand or with a ratchet strap... The more I look back on it, the more impressed I am that all I had was a bum toe for the weekend (still rode all weekend). A+ in my book!

I have Alpinestar MX boots I bought in 1983 and still wear them. Hi Point Alpinestars. I can't believe they are still in decent shape. If I buy new boots, it will be the same brand and well worth the money. I like the fact that they are well broken in and you can actually move your ankle to shift gears.

Nice review! looks like although less expensive than the Toucan (which I own) the Corozal appear to be more durable. The Toucan uses some sort of synthetic soft rubber on one of the surfaces that teared off within less than two years. A local shoe maker replaced those by heavy leather to fix that fault. The other thing is the Toucan's soles wears quickly. Mines do not look as good as yours after two years. But unlike the Corazol, the soles on the Toucan can be replaced. Once done with the Toucan. Thanks to you, I'll give the Corazol a shot :-) Thanks!!!

Thank you for this recommendation. The Corozal sounds like just what would fit my ADV riding style best. I'll use your link to check them out and get a size from your source. (Just FYI, I have a "many years-old" pair of Chippewa all- leather, heavy duty boots for riding my Electra Glide on (mostly) street. Riding alone, one early morning, thru Joshua Tree NP, I managed to "tuck" the front end - in black sand at a turn-off and, like you, pinned myself, facedown, under the left pannier. I mean pinned !)with the bike's 900 lb weight pointing my heal straight down, into the hard ground, against my downward-facing toe. Ouch!! I was stuck until an elderly couple drove by and saw me under my bike. The 75+ couple managed to help me crawl out. Those $200 boots saved my ankle from breaking - with only a 14- month sprain to heal up! Good boots are with every penny!!!! Thanks for your great videos.

I have the Alpinestar Corozal boots as well. I've used them for a couple years now, but recently upgraded to Garne Fastback Enduro boots. The reason for the upgrade is basically more protection for offroad use. I found that I need a little more protection on a BDR trip this past summer. Don't get me wrong, the Corozals are great for pure adventure riding, but lack a little in the off pavement department. What I like about the Corozals, comfort, and they are waterproof and windproof. What I don't like, I can bend the toes back with my hand and the side hinge can be bent over if pushed hard enough too. If I find myself pavement riding in the winter time waiting for the snow to melt in the mountains, I'll wear my Corozals, but in the summer on BDR or something I know I will be off pavement the Fastback. Just my thoughts on this boot.

How do these feel compared to an MX style boot? That's what I am suing now but man are they stiff and super uncomfortable. I'm looking for something that feels almost like a work boot, I think? I hate not feeling my levers.... I'm a completely new rider so I'm still trying to feel my way around.

If they only had replaceable soles… I’m wearing their little brothers, the Belize. Will be moving to a taller boot soon. Maybe these, maybe the Gaerne Fastback, which are only bombproof, not waterproof. Or maybe Corozals. Not sure yet.

  • @mikeguitarification
    @mikeguitarification 2 года назад +2

I got the shorter version of these (Belize) and love them. Use them for riding when doing street/light offroad which is 90% of my riding. Very comfortable for all day riding. Not hiking or long walking boots, but that isn't what they are designed for.
Heavier offroad I use my Alpinestars Tech 3's, which are also awesome in my opinion.

I also wearTech 7s and even though they aren't a hiking boot they will protect your foot, ankle and sides of your legs very well and they are very comfortable for riding. A friend in new Formas hurt the side of his leg pretty bad this last weekend. Be careful of boots with a lot of side flex. There is a trade off like anything else.

Buy it for life? I have never worn a pair of boots more than about two seasons. Not due to failure of the boots, but due to the smell. Seems like I find myself in water over the top of the boots once a month, and unless I bake them in the oven for an hour or two on the “warm” setting, the downhill slide into toxic funk begins. Hint - Do this when your spouse and/or roommates are out of the house...
That said, I decide on what I am willing to pay for gear based on imagining the injury without the gear, and then with lesser gear. I have never said to myself “I don’t need a functioning brain THAT much,” so I can save some money on a cheap helmet. I also like to be able to walk around, and I often ride into the bush alone, so good gear and an emergency beacon are must-haves.
