Wow! I am just now watching the Pillars of the Earth,(didn't really notice it when it first came out) but I am thrilled to find out they are adapting this novel too!
Omg! Omg! This is sooooo cool! I just started reading the book :D I knew they did the pillars of the earth but now I'm so happy that they did the sequel ^_^ can anyone please tell me where I can watch it online?
Unfortunately, "World without End" simply isn't as compelling as "Pillars of the Earth", though it's still a damn good show and one of the best period dramas ever made (amidst a sea of utter mediocrity and endless Austen, Brontë and Dickens rehashes). There's no character as likeable as Prior Philip or Tom Builder, instead there's a preponderance of arrogant arseholes with few redeeming qualities, and the "good" characters are all rather flat and simplistic in comparison with those in PotE. Nevertheless, it's still a good show... but yeah. I still haven't finished it after two weeks, whereas I devoured PotE in two days. That really says it all about the quality discrepancy.
Having just read the book after watching the series I definitely agree. It's like they followed first half of the book and completely changed the second half.
I would hope the tv show is better than the novel. I picked up this piece of junk at my senior center library with hopes of learning something of the Black Death era. Instead I got an excessively silly yarn patted with what the author thinks is tantalizing sexual episodes just to satisfy the interests of the ladies who buy this stuff. Believe me, as an old fart I’m not interested in cope a feel incidents with teens. I started really losing interest and focus when teen novice revealed he could watch dalliances of the local bishop by pulling out a loose brick from a wall. Oh my. I got rather hostile to the author to think he would think I needed such silliness to spark interest. Real stupid stuff. And then it gets worse.
Never saw a series where everything that could go wrong actually went wrong!😂

True, its not as good as the book was
Yes, Queen Isabella was nearly non-existent in the book.
They didn’t change the story, they BUTCHERED it!

This looks nothing like the book, but I'll check it out.
I watched it and it makes me sad that i have to agree with you, it's not nearly as good as pote :)

Seen POTE twice, never seen WWOE but plan to next week. But this trailers makes it look like the same story, just not as good!
Unfortunately it isn't...
Doesn't do the book justice.
As did the first one, as unfortunate as it is.
I have watched clips from this show. That was enough. I wont watch this shit, totally ruined the book.

The writing frusterated me. (Tv show not books)
Looks like the producers are desperate to put women at the centre of history.
Isabel ruled England as regent during this period, medieval times often had women at its centre.
This show was aggravating and predictable
