I just finished Piranesi. I was so blown away by it. When you think a human being has created books like Johnathon strange and Piranesi, it makes you believe in real magic. Thank you Susanna.

I love Susanna Clarke, her imagination and wittiness. I hope she finds enough strength to write something new soon. ❤ Thank you for this interview ❤

The line that Susanna said that she wrote in her twenties is "Spray as high as the Ceiling exploded through all the Northern Doors. The Spray caught the Sun; it was as if someone had suddenly thrown a hundred barrelfuls of diamonds into the Hall." During my first read of Piranesi, the beauty of this line really stood out to me. It's incredible to hear the history behind it!

Attended this event, and I can say watching this felt like eavesdropping on two old friends catching up after a while apart. Totally charming to get an insight into the working mind of two AMIABLE writers bouncing experiences around. Thank you Suzanna, Neil and 5x15.

As someone who also suffers from chronic fatigue syndrome, it's so good to know Susanna is doing better and is still writing.

I love the story, The Ladies of Grace Adieu. It's amazing, just like Neil Gaiman says.

I admire both of them. I love listening to them. We live in wonderful times. We see that special effects caught up with their imagination... i am so happy about that.

I remain convinced that Piranesi is a loose sequel to The Magician's Nephew, and that Valentine Ketterley is the grandson of Andrew Ketterley. Running magical experiments on people by imprisoning them in other worlds seems to run in the family.

I have to say that I had tears to see so much friendship, so much love and admiration, revealed here by these two geniuses and human beings of a sensibility and a unique look at the world that surrounds them, it is so beautiful to see this pure friendship, this pure love and admiration for each other's work are without a shadow of a doubt Beings almost Anjelicais, I want to send a kiss and many, many hugs to all of you, a huge hug from here in Portugal

I love them both! I really enjoyed watching their conversation! Susanna Clarke's Piranesi is the best book I've ever read, I can say it wholeheartedly.

I wrote the Epilogue first; it was brief but defined the main genre, and I liked it. Once the main story was finished I wrote the Prologue, and it gave the story and whole new slant.

Neil acting surprised that he "predicted the future" that Strange and Norrel would be popular. Mr Gaiman, I only read that book because you were gushing about it and I'm sure many people heard of it directly through your efforts. So as always - we write our own futures. (Ms Clarke of course wrote her own future as well. Meeting all the people in her prescient photo was not a Total fluke of fate either, as she was actively reaching out into that world.)
