Very interesting and informative video! And, I could understand the narrator perfectly. I personally don't like dry cleaning because of the chemicals involved and the fact that I have extremely sensitive skin and acute asthma, but my husband and other family members would not survive without it! The dry cleaning process though is absolutely fascinating and I have to admit that my husband's and other family members' clothes look absolutely beautiful when they return from our beloved neighborhood dry cleaner! ❤
Thank you for sharing the details with us! I've noticed that many companies, such as OXXO Care Cleaners, are now adopting eco-friendly technology and discontinuing the use of harsh chemicals in their cleaning processes. They're also providing 24/7 pick-up and drop-off services, as well as same-day laundry services.
I am happy that I live in a country where most shops aside from grocery stores close at 6 pm and all shops are closed on sundays. Life isn't as stressfull as in other countries and people have a work-life balance.

Hi. This is just to be helpful. Can you put subtitles in your videos? Your accent is really heavy. It makes it really hard to understand some of your words.
They still put the clothes inside the machine and spin them. Clothes with vulnerable materials will not survive this, like if you have clothes with embroidery or sequins, it will completely destroy them. I wonder how they dry clean wedding gowns or any party gowns, do they also load and spin them in the machine? I guess I would never dry clean my dresses anymore after knowing this. Maybe I will just do them myself at home. My friend who owns a laundry business taught me how to do dry cleaning at home. All I need are just solvent, stain remover if needed, a spray bottle and standing steamer. It costs a fortune as well to send them to dry cleaner. Imagine how many wool, cahsmere clothes, down jackets and coats we are wearing during winter, and each time winter ends, I am broke 😂
For dry cleaning, traditional water-based washing cycles are not used. Instead, dry cleaning employs chemical solvents, with the most common one being perchloroethylene (perc) or other less toxic alternatives like hydrocarbon solvents. The amount of solvent used in a dry-cleaning machine varies, but it's typically much less compared to water in a regular washing machine. Here's an approximate breakdown: Solvent Usage: On average, dry-cleaning machines use about 0.5 to 1.0 gallons (1.9 to 3.8 liters) of solvent per cycle for each 10 to 15 pounds (4.5 to 6.8 kg) of clothes. Recycling: Most modern dry-cleaning machines recycle the solvent, reducing waste and lowering the amount of new solvent required per cycle.
Haha this is such a joke! Most dry cleaners are down right ghetto. I’ve lost items on the first try. Ask them to HAND IRON. It’s more expensive but if you find someone who knows the art it’s worth it.
Good video and script, but I wish it were read by someone without such a hard to understand accent. Having the captions on doesn't even help as they're all over the place!
Someone's got trichloroethane and trichloroethylene confused, and also you're showing Miele wet cleaning/commercial washing up machines while saying they're dry cleaning machines
Lol.... he is trying too hard to catch a western accent....but doesn’t realize how terrible and desperate he sounds. Its not any particular accent but this guy is bangali. I feel bad for him.
dry clean only clothing is still a scam. no article of clothing needs to be in the $10 range to clean. the manufacturers are the scam though, not the guys like this who need to learn the arbitrary rules for cleaning bad fabrics
Perc collects all the dirt and grim from fabric, collected, recycled, and used in metalwork factories after recycling. After that it's recycled again, and used in oil industry. I don't know where it goes after that. It's expensive, so it's not wasted.
That would be too expensive. Like you are trying to replace the water with liquid solvents. Who wants to buy giant jugs of chemicals every so often just to wash your clothes. Besides, water does not damage your clothes. You just have to be more delicate with washing and drying your clothes. They only put dry clean only because throwing in the machine might cause damage that they don't want folks to complain about to them.
The only video on RUclips that describes and shows the entire dry cleaning process. Thank you.
