honestly though i cant really dislike ling even if she becomes cruel at the end. no one in the palace ever showed her any kindness, and every single one of these women are prejudiced against her from the beginning. even ruyi and hailan. had they just been kind to her she wouldnt become so hateful like that.
Ruyi & Hailan tried to be kind but they noticed early on she was tricky & strange. But then A'Rou tried to upgrade herself too at the expense of her mistress Ruyi.
I think you're right. I feel like Ling could've been a great friend, especially considering how Jia bullied her and they all shared a common dislike towards her. She might have been shady, yes, but in the beginning she never really sought to hurt other palace women...though the thing she did with Ling Yunche was horrible
@@susanbrady1074 yeah ling is a little ambitious but she doesnt have the priviledge of ruyi and hailan coming from noble families. what else is she gonna do but try to raise her standing? ruyi is really naive in wanting complete sincerity from the emperor imo.

ofc ruyi won't play nice with her. she's mad over what yanwan did to ling yunche, who at that point had become a great friend of ruyi's. if it's me, I won't play nice with my bestie's ex who left him for a better prospect after abusing his generosity either
