4:00 one thing that bugged me about the character reactions this season was that they all seemed to think being unable to kill Salem meant they couldn’t truly fight, or at least not fight and win. You can’t “kill” tornadoes or hurricanes, but that doesn’t stop dedicated individuals from tirelessly working so that in America their lethality is dramatically reduced and their kill counts, while always tragic, seem laughable compared to what they were even a century ago.
More specifically it seems a dedicated force could find a lot of ways to contain and defang Salem, even if it wouldn’t be perfect. Can she be restrained? What happens if you tie her to an anchor and drop her in the ocean? What happens if you tie her to a hundred anchors? What happens if you shove her full of enough sedative to knock out an entire city, tie her up with the ropes used for a hundred anchors, put all of that on a spaceship, and then aim that spaceship at the moon?
Well the reason why they aren't acting rationally is because they're just finding out and processing that info. To add onto your analogy, death counts for natural disasters didn't go down over night, it happened when people had a chance to step back after the damage was done and assess what to do next. For a bunch of teenagers who just had their world turned upside down, it's understandable why they're reacting the way they are.
Honestly sending her on the first rocket to the sun would get my vote if she won't stand down.

Dude. She literally live since Remnant was born. She's so frustrated of being immortal for a long time. The only way to remove her immortality is for her to realise her mistakes and learn that life is something she should meddle with. One of the people who would make her realise that is Ruby. Violence isn't always the answer, sometimes a simple talk can end a long time conflict.
