Rhett waking up to fight a wasp explains so much about him
This comment is spot on and I love Rhett!
in the future Meatigan wakes up and fights human sized wasps for breakfast.
💯
😂
M ac
my beef is with people who use a product review page to complain about the delivery process and not the actual product. you know, the person who rates the thing they bought one star because the delivery took five business days instead of four or whatever. complaints like that are for the company’s general feedback page. the product reviews are for you to talk about what you liked about the actual physical object you have purchased and used.
This.
And the fact that people complain about product size being too small or too large when the exact and correct measurements were in the pictures and description.
It's one thing if measurements doesnt match description, but many reviews are like buying tubberware and complain it's "smaller than expected" when it clearly said 7" x 5.5" x 3" on the website. Like what else you want???
YES. Also when people answer product questions on Amazon with “I don’t know, I didn’t buy it.” THEN DON’T SAY ANYTHING!
Yes omg thank you. Or the reviews that say "great product, love it" but they only give like 2 or 3 stars. Why??!
@@thewanderingwolf7116 I think they see two or three stars as average
@@avianastrunk5585 great product, i love it but I’ll give it an average rating
Daaaang, if I were Taylor I would be pissed too! They totally stole a little kid’s idea! I’m mad for him!
I'm not saying it's right but they probably got the same response from thousands of kids lol
@@TaylorBrown419 true haha
@@TaylorBrown419 This is true I have found there were quite a few kids that mailed in that suggestion
It's called capitalism sweaty
My dad swears he invented spicy ketchup. 😂
Now I SERIOUSLY want an episode about Kaylan’s experiment. 🤭
"Yeah, no" is simple. The "yeah" is confirmation that the question has registered and is valid. The "no" is the answer to said question. It also serves as a processing buffer giving you an additional second to think and formulate an answer.
It's how our lizard robot brains process language
Thank you! I was yelling the same thing at the tv.
🤯 this! Thank you!
Exactly! It's a simple way of saying "I've heard you, I acknowledge what you have said or asked" man, I thought this was obvious. It's actually kind of a nice polite thing to do.
And No, Yeah is the same for me. No yeah means yes/agreeing. Yeah no means no/disagreeing
In Australia one of the most common phrases is "yeah na" (meaning no) and "na yeah" (meaning yes)
Rhett intentionally stopping the wheel on Gifticality is always one of the most wholesome things on the internet
He does that?? Whoa!!
@@ssall3879 yes he does it a lot
@@ekbrandon93 I'm only hearing about it just now, that's amazing!
I always love it when he does that! It makes me even somewhat proud of watching and supporting GMM all these years
That, combined with Link's sweet side-clap when they donate, makes me warm and fuzzy inside.
13:00 What Link is talking about is called "discourse markers" and they have a variety of functions in communication :)
And I love them!! My favorite is “so”
The "Yeah, No" issue comes up when the first word usually just happens because it's just a way to acknowledge the case and the next is to say yes or no to the actual question
Same with the reporter thing Link was talking about. “Yeah”, “right”, “of course”, or “exactly” are all ways of acknowledging that something was said to them and they heard it, and then they respond with an answer.
Exactly. 😉
@@rgoodfellow This is exactly my explanation as well. The first word is an acknowledgement of your question. What follows is the answer.
I just wanna share lol. My weirdest beef is with Fifty Shades, they were filming 50 Shades Darker in Seattle on my birthday. I was staying in a fancy hotel and they towed my car because they put signs up saying they'd be towed after some time, only after I was already there.. $200 to get it back. Will never forget 🤣
that is tragic, we’re here for you
My weirdest beef is peanut butter. I’km trying SO hard to like it. I can stomach it if crunchy honey roasted but only in small small doses.
Link is explaining an active listening interview technique that I was taught while studying to become a social worker. It's weird I suppose but it's meant to let the other person know you're understanding what they are saying. 🤣 Now I'm going to have a complex while interviewing.
i think link meant it with regards to "cutting" through a statement or into a conversation, as opposed to indicating you're understanding what the other is saying
like, "right! But/anyways..."
On Link's comment on reporters, this little pause helps them realize if the question has ended or the host/person will continue talking. If they straight up start answering it is way more likely for interruptions to start happening, and that is a lot more distracting than a couple words. That's my interpretation at the very least
Rhett: “Right”
Rhett: stares at camera while patronizing Link and Link has no idea 😂
they haven’t joked about hating rochester since i moved there for college 3 and a half months ago, and i will say it feels nice to be included.
Taylor, I feel you. I sent in a picture idea for the label (similar thing heinz did) of vines and leaves..... now their label is vines and leaves
And also still solemnly only like Heinz ketchup.
Gotta agree with the beef of Stuart Little --
They should have used a rat, they're *MUCH* smarter, *trainable* and *love* to be loved. Rats are caged micro puppies.
but the book the movie was based on didn't have a rat, it had a mouse. Mice are also super smart and trainable and loving, I had two as pets as a kid.
They probably didn’t want to encourage kids to ask their parents for a pet rat! 😂
That’s why the creators of Phineas & Ferb gave the main characters a pet that would be much trickier to find if kids wanted one of their own (a platypus).
Mine is “I’ll be honest with you”. Thanks for giving me a heads up that you’re not about to lie.
NGL I agree
or "Trust me" from a complete stranger.
Im from Rochester and I always love when Rhett continues the “rivalry” love it
How come Rhett has beef with Rochester.
I’m right down the 90
The episode about pork and someone wrote an article about it and in a More later on, he was being Rhett and created beef. Both are really really funny
by the way...
the "yeah, no ... " is not them contradicting themselves the "yeah" is "yes i heard and understood your question," and then they continue on with their actual answer.
I do think Rhett has a good idea with the Peanut Butter though, not in the hands exactly, but bring in your own container and fill it up instead of getting a new one.
This is an option at a chain of bulk grocery stores (where I’m from), you can also opt to putting it in one of their plastic bags Lol
I was going to say something similar. A refillable/reusable container.
Yea I’m able to get peanut butter from a local health store this way
Stuart Little isn't a mouse, he's a human boy that looks exactly like a mouse.
You have to admit that whole situation was weird.
No that’s what it was in the book only. They changed for the movie. So it went from really weird to just kinda weird.
I think Katelyn might be in a Hallmark movie 🤣
I have no idea why but the entire idea of Stuart Little boils my blood too. I felt it in my soul.
I got tonsillitis a couple days ago and it's been pretty rough. Super glad to maintain some normalcy with GMM as a part of my daily routine
Thanks for all you do, Mythical ♥️✌️
Feel better soon fellow mythical beast! 💚
get well soon kaleb!
Thanks so much you guys, I really appreciate the support 🥰
In the book, Mrs Little literally gives birth to a mouse. None of the questions this raises are ever answered.
I would also like an explanation for George Shrinks. My kids loved that show and thinking about his origin gives me nightmares.
@@staceyn2541 i always loved (and still do) any story where large things got tiny. Honey I Shrunk the Kids, certain episodes of Magic Schoolbus (watched while babysitting my nephews), and some comic in the old 80s Highlights magazine... they all super intrigued me. being small in a world of large... it's fascinating to my brain.
@@jlt131 You would enjoy Studio Ghibli's Secret World of Arietty, based on the Borrowers books.
@@jlt131 1957 movie...The incredible shrinking man is good.
The "yeah, no" and "no, yeah" thing is basically an unstoppable tic for us Midwesterners. So yeah, no... that beef ain't valid to me! 😅
So true
Totally agree haha.
Yea, no
I’m Scottish and it’s the same here, except it’s “naw, aye” “aye, naw”
i thought it was just a california thing! i've been saying "no, yeah" and "yeah, no" my whole life.
Taylor should sue, honestly.
They absolutely stole his idea, never to be credited in any form.
Unless he wans't the only kid who thought of it..
Yep true!!!
🤣🤣 we have a store called "Bulk Barn" in Canada and it's all types of nuts and candies and baking ingredients. Well, they have natural pb there (honey and molasses too). And... you can bring your own reusable containers. 😌🙌
i can’t wait for them to restart this program for all their items (the ones near me stopped due to covid)
@@golovastik.mp3 same! At the start of covid we had an employee guiding every customer 🤣 you tell them what you want how much w.e. lmao I stopped going till they stopped that 😂
Lots of grocery stores in canada have bulk PB in their bulk section too! I remember thinking it was weird as a kid, did you just pour it into a bag like with the bulk candy?! (of course not, you can also buy reusable tubs there)
I brought my own jars until the pandemic contact infection misperception. But the employees *hated* doing the tare.
Petition to make Heinz make things right
hearing rhett say rochester felt like a jumpscare
You know how he feels about Rochester New York, it’s on sight, apparently
I live in Pittsburgh, (well a little outside Pittsburgh) I work for PNC Park & Heinz Field. I can honestly say people are passionate about Heinz ketchup. I once had a customer yell at me because we used fancy ketchup & he told me “how are you not using Heinz ketchup, Heinz is right down the road!! Go get some.” I have no beef with Heinz though lol
I’m also at work now at Heinz listening to this 😂 I am cracking up
It's the Festivus airing of grievances!
😂 thank you for the George castanza reminder 😂
Rhett's right about the landfill thing I feel like, I was on the recycling team in middle school and we took all the bins and emptied them into the dumpster outside :(
well, at least you tried.
Damn, thats gotta be kinda soul crushing...
MY MOM WHEN SHE ORDERS FOOD “hi, what can i get for you” AND SHE RESPONDS “yes,(starts order)” I GET YOU LINK
I bet someone has beef with people who go on dating apps that aren't looking to date 😂
the "yeah, no" thing is just acknowledging what someone said like "yeah, i get what you're saying" then following up with "but my answer is no", and vice versa. and/or a clarification of english grammar. like in korean if someone says "you don't like this?" you'll say "yes, i don't like this" or "no, i do like this", but in english if someone said "you don't like this?" and someone said "no" it's an affirmation. "you don't like ice cream?" "no" is acceptable. my two reasonings thus far.
They were probably Asian lady beetles, not lady bugs. We get them on our house every fall/winter
We had an infestation of those when I lived in Minnesota.
We had a huge problem with those every year. Finally got our house sprayed to prevent them this fall and the difference is night and day.
I personally dislike both for the same reason, because it's definitely not only the orange asian lady beetles that get in my house.
There may be more of them than the red ladybugs, but they're both there in hoards 😂
I understand Kalyn's frustration. I have that beef with the whole world.
0:03 I saw that! And I can't put in words how much I respect you guys for it.
Speaking to Rhett on behalf of Rochester, it's mutual. However we are in 100% agreement on PB&J sandwich preferences.
Wait why does Rhett have beef w Rochester? I love Rochester 🥺
Well, if it makes that guy feel any better about the ketchup, I’m sure he wasn’t the ONLY person who ever gave them that suggestion, and it was a huge failure. No one actually wanted to use green or purple ketchup. 😂
As if I needed another reason to love Rhett & then he mentions Fievel!!!! 💜 so much nostalgia 😭😭🤣
Wow, Rhett! Great story about wasps, etc.
My childhood bedroom was terrifying, wasps in the attic had me sleeping on the couch at least once a year. Sometimes it was a bird or squirrel slowly dying, sometimes it was roaches. For many years, I slept with the blanket tucked all around and over my head like a mummy.
I would love to see Rhett and Link attempt to be environmentally friendly for a full week. And they should vlog it of course!!
I have chills just from talking about the styrofoam.
Good mythical morning y’all. Hope everyone has a great week heading into Christmas. Be safe and love yourselves and others. 💙
Thanks for that! I just got a bunch of drunken angry texts from an old friend. Peace and love to all!
Thanks! You too! 💚
Christmas is miserable. Try spending all of them alone or stuck with abusive, toxic people.
@@englishatheart I do spend them alone every year. And i have also spent them with both abusive and toxic people. But it still don’t stop me from hoping people have a good time. I know not everyone will but it’s better to be positive then negative.
@@killercorpse100 Well said! ❤🎄 🎅
Yeah, No = Yes, I understand what you are asking; No, is my answer to that question
I need to know Rhetts thoughts on Rochester New York…because that’s a little close to home 🥲😂
It bothers me when someone asks, "Can I ask you a question?" or says "Let me tell you something." It's like, just ask or just tell me what you're gonna say. Why the lead up?
6:14 "Ladybugs, you go into the bathroom and there'd be like twelve".
They've gone to the bathroom in a pack to talk about their dates.
This has been one of my favorite episodes
I have never related to Link more than about the NPR interjections. When it's someone buying time to think, I wish they could just be comfortable with a bit of silence. It's so awkward.
I have a beef with correspondents starting their answer with "So...."
I always viewed it as an acknowledgement of what the other person’s saying. Rather than it seeming like you’re Ignoring the other person to state your own opinions
I’m proud to say I just joined the mythical society as a new member!! 😁😁😁😁
In Heinz-sight Taylor should have recieved some royalties.
👏👏👏👏
You guys should try all the hot pocket flavors
Glitter is the devil's sand.....
I love that
*"Like I take this extra time to like get the peanut butter jar clean, but I'm using a bunch of water to do that. And then I'm using hot water, which is using energy. And then I have an existential crisis and just think there's no answers."* ~Rhett 2021
*_I feel ya, definitely quite a conundrum..._*
Put the peanut butter jar in the dish washer. Works like a charm. But only if it's marked 1 or 2.
If you have a dog they work wonders cleaning peanut butter jars and will do it free and happily.
@@gl15col *Wouldn't a dishwasher be using more water though?*
@@gamesman0118 *True, but they wouldn't be able to completely and thoroughly clean it though...*
@@winniebae4alwayyz963 A little rinse with a good grease cutter like dish soap should get the rest. Also what they don't get should be very miniscule and might pass the recycle place test.
Great video bro!
Which bro are you referring to?
Episode idea: What's the best ketchup?
Love you guys :D
In Texas, Whataburger sells its ketchup in HEB stores.
Rhett’s hair does something to me 😍
Yinz know that Heinz really ain't local any more. WE all got a beef with them.
I think Link's beef is that the "yeah" or "right" is irrelevant to the question "What do you think about the senator?" If the correspondent said something like, "Well Sally..." instead, don't think there'd be a problem.
5:08 feels like an episode of the office.
omg this just unlocked a memory of there always being ladybugs in my grandparents’ house. not an infestation, they just got in a lot. thanks for bringing that back!
Thats cool, Carrie apparently has beef with the entire mid west
I will never buy Heinz ketchup again….
I won’t either! We also don’t like ketchup, so it’s pretty easy 😅
If you knew how many companies have done this, you'd not buy a lot of things.
12:29 So… literally Every Midwesterner?
My beef is with people who say "how's it going?" or "how are you?" in passing 😤 Like why?? Don't ask unless you want an answer! Just say "hi" or "hey" or any other non-committal greeting and keep it moving!
My partner recently told me it drives him up the wall when people say "you know?" after a sentence as conversational filler, and now I can't stop hearing it EVERYWHERE.
In Canada we clean all jars and cans for recycle. We never throw things away that can be recycled, that would be bad for the earth.
Yeah, right, etc are interjections that give people a second to formulate their answer in their mind. It's subconscious
A hitch! Yes, Rhett! Thank you
Rhett's face when Link was grammar policing is hilarious
i love you guys !!!
It's time for my 2 cents! In response to Link's beef, I tend to do that same thing; however, it's not a conscious decision. I'm a verbal processor, plus when I'm engaged or excited about a conversation, my instinct is to verbalize my thoughts and feelings to confirm them myself and share them with the person I'm talking with. I'm also not as bothered by these things because I'm fascinated by human nature and what a person does unconsciously.
Good Mythical Morning to Rhett and Link and fellow mythical beasts!
Omg... wasps?!?! No way would I sleep there!!!
Ladybugs don't infest houses, Asian Lady beetles do. Ladybugs are mostly solitary insects.
The NPR senator bit was sooooo random and sooooo perfectly Link!!!!
as someone who lives in/around Rochester, New York, I understand 2:45
You can thank the Midwest for yea, no & no, yea. Whatca gonna do about it?!? Maybe definitely means NO! 🤣
Loveee yalll
*Rhett and his vinyl siding* 💀💀
Pittsburgh!! That was shady tho Heinz 🤣🤣
Good mythical morning everyone 🌅
The “yeah no” hater. Would really dislike all Canadians. 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂 “yeah no for sure”
yeah, eh?! that one's more back east though, i recall the first time I heard someone say "yeah, eh" as an actual full sentence and i've never looked back.
Rochester don’t have a beef with you!
Dirt Dauber? We called 'em Mud Daubers where I grew up in Texas
Taylor deserves justice lmao, lets start a petition.
I think they are called “Mud Daubers”
I love the Heinz History Center. Favorite Pittsburgh museum!
Well hello to you too from Honolulu Kayln!!!
It's a NY city problem lol. A lot of people are on the dating apps but they're just as fast as the city
12:30 so they have a beef with the entire Midwest?
Thank you for making me laugh
🤣🤣
I completely get what Link's saying. I despise people saying they have a question before asking it. "Hey Amber, I have a question" so freakin ask it! I just stare at people until they ask the question. Don't announce it, just ask it.
Why not just tell em to just ask next time. Just staring at them doesn't tell them anything and just causing you more frustration in the future
My son has always done this for his entire life. He’s almost 12 now. “Mom, I have a question” I think it could be a sign of respect like, “excuse me”, so I don’t want to be mad, but damn does it drive me insane. Just ask the question!!!!!
Or asking "Can I ask you a question?" Well you just did...
@@casachezdoom2588 exactly!
At my workplace we have to ask “May I?” and wait for a response before asking a question or addressing somebody. I find myself doing that to all sorts of people who are probably very confused as to why I’m asking their permission to speak 😂🤷♀️
It is awesome to watch good mythical morning on youtube I like the will it videos
Sir Kensington's ketchup is pretty good.
I've noticed the NPR thing too. But I think they are answering the question with, "right" as in yes that is the question, that is the next logical thing to ask and here is the answer. But thats my take.
They were more likely to be Asian Lady Beetles. They are pretty common in my area. I've never had it happen to me but apparently they can also bite.
