Scoups is actually the kind of manager that does all his subordinates work too lol. Woozi leads when recording but otherwise he's super lenient (which is why the vocal unit are trouble makers), Hoshi is scary when it comes to dance practice but outside that he's the one causing problems and getting lost. Scoups as the general leader keeps the kids in check, represents them in front of the company and makes sure their image is maintained overall. Also ofc his most important job is doing the introduction and goodbyes. He's on hiatus rn and the team is a mess lol
Also, if you do anything to SVT, he is very scarry. He is not able to be part of ISAC anymore because of that. I miss him. Glad he was at MAMA even if he didn't perform.
Since they were trainees, they were really strict with each other when it comes to their performance. If I remebered correctly, in some interviews, the members said that the very strict & "scary" members were S.Coups, Woozi, and Hoshi... and they did end up becoming SEVENTEEN's leaders. Also, I like their "rookie mindset" even if it's already 8 years since their debut. They just do their best with each performance, and they keep getting better! I do hope every Carat see them perform live, it's really worth it.
I knew this would be next lol. If Aju Nice was their big hit song in Korea, this was their first big breakthrough internationally. This song and their 2x dance (esp Jeonghan) is what made me stan
Scoups is the general leader of Seventeen and even Carats. He also represents the team to the company but he already said in an interview that the team is more important to him than the company thats why he often gets in argument with the company. He is also the hiphop team leader although it doesn’t mean that he only raps, he actually loves ballads and can sing and dance pretty good too. He is soft when it comes to his members but can be very scary if you dare hurt one of his members. Members said that during trainee days, Scoups, Hoshi and Woozi are the scariest of them all. Hope you’ll get to react to the Seventeen Guide by Caratland17! There are basic info about the group as well as per unit and individual.
We don't mind pausing! Also the different locations in the MV aren't that deep(or more like it's a general feeling and theme but not a story) , there's like one which is a house which is think is like the scene of a breakup and like the loneliness. It was filmed in LA. The song is about wanting to hide your tears and sadness after a breakup. Don't wanna cry was really huge, I think I heard before I ever knew about seventeen or cared about kpop. Like 5 years before i started becoming interested but when I heard it again I got vague memories of the song. Also I do think seventeen are actually pretty self managing but scoups is a great and crucial leader, esp when it's comes to external communication. The way the different sub unit leaders, scoups hoshi woozi, act with their unit is pretty different and funny. And just the different vibes of the units, vocal unit are unhinged
carats are very, very okay with longer videos! like we love/enjoy more than 30mins reactions to less than 3mins songs hahaha! so even if you react to the Super Long SVT guide in parts and with a lot of pauses, it'll be more than okay, really 👍
Yes, let's do the super long svt guide! You can do it in parts so you have more time to process the amount of information in the videos. Also, this is just a personal request. 😊 I'd like to see you react to Pretty U (choreo video) and Fear MV back to back. Those songs are, in my opinion, at opposite ends of their spectrum and it'll show you a great deal of how much they've grown and matured in their music, dance execution, fashion styles, and mv production over the years and is a testament to their versatility as artists. 🫡🫶🏻 As always, loved and thanks for your reactions to svt!
First of all, their main choreographer said that there are no members who are bad dancers in Seventeen. They also practice a lot and are fast learning dancers. even to make their latest MV with the song God of Music, Hoshi said they only practiced the choreography (which is shown in the MV) for two days before they recorded the MV
Thank you so much for doing this song! And taking recommendations from us. Feels very poignant as yesterday Seventeen won their first ever Daesang (Album of the Year) at the MAMAs after 9 years of hard work 🥲❤
being the leader of a kpop group is actually a lot harder than one would think. they are responsible for everything, when the group don't do well or messes up, even if it's not their fault, it will be their fault. if the groups disbands, it's on the leader. they sacrifice a lot and always have to think of the group first before themselves. a lot of weight on their shoulders though they're just teenagers when they debut! that's why i'm glad Scoups have Hoshi and Woozi (we call them 2 captains) as the other leaders. the Super Long Guide is actually very entertaining, it will go by! idk anymore how many times i've seen it through reactors lol
I think, given your reaction to this choreo, you should check out their actual dance practices (in their Inside Seventeen playlist). Where you get a chance to actually see them work out different choreo. I think you will love them just as much!!!!
Ohhh I can't recommend it enough you guys definitely need to react to Kiss of life. Each of the members had a solo this year before debuting (and they had a super great come-back recently 🤩)~!
the members, esp performance unit ones, will watch themselves in the mirror and be like "oops, my arm is 1 degree off, i was two miliseconds ahead, etc"
IMO the unit names work because the units aren't actually a 1:1 match with the rap, vocal, or dance positions or abilities. Dino is (I believe) officially a lead rapper, even though he's not in the hip hop team, and there's lots of other members who can and do rap in their songs (Hoshi, for example). Similarly the Performance team =/= the dancers, because everyone's a great dancer, and the Vocal Team =/= everyone who can sing, or everyone with vocal positions. The names are more about the various focus they have when making their unit songs. The units also experiment and try out various genres more than just "rap, dance, and vocal" would suggest. The vocal team doesn't do only ballads, and the hip hop team doesn't only rap, or the performance team do only dance songs - they've all got a lot of range, even within their respective focus.
Enjoying your reactions to Seventeen, I am also a UK fan of kpop. you should react to some of their japanese mvs as well at some point they have so many songs though so i'm sure you will get there eventually. also if you want to know them more they have their Going seventeen show on their youtube channel.
i love dont wanna cry. i became a carat in 2022 but dont wanna cry has been my ringtone since 2020, i just loved the song. also seventeen is the first group i stanned. i just love ther songs. and they are amazing performers and singers and so funny. also i got to see dwc live and i cant believe it. tho sadly s.coups and jeonghan was not part of it. :(
Thank you for liking SEVENTEEN more and more! Each time you drop a new reaction vid, I can feel how much you're ready to dive into them deeper. So please do... Idk if you have a patreon or you may have to edit if here in yt, but I think "Game Caterers x Seventeen" is a great show to start with (if not the long guide).
You may have seen it, but another fun dance practice they do is one where they switch parts they have a version of this song. they play up the parts other people do and are pretty funny with it
I probably discovered Seventeen about the same time as you. But I just discovered you, so I am trying to catch up on your reactions. I don't know if you've learned of this about seventeen, but I wanted to share something about the leadership. While there are unit leaders and they are important, Seventeen also follows the elder line concept of Korean culture. For instance, Joshua paired up with Jun - Jun says several times how grateful to Joshua he was and that he helped him integrate into the group easily, even though Joshua was also a foreigner and was still learning Korean. Same thing with Joenghan pairing up with The8 and Dino. So, it's the whole 95-line taking care of the younger ones. As they've grown, of cause things have changed. For instance, Mingyu is credited for being the key negotiator for their re-signing even though his in the middle group. But at the beginning, the older 3 were taking care of the younger ones quite a lot. In different ways.
Hi i'm back! I absolutely enjoy and am endeared by your reactions and dynamic together hahaha! "I need a document that explains the video... to be provided by you in the comments :)" really got me laughing! Love from the Philippines!
I will never understand how S. coups does his job. Organising the chaos that is 17 must be a highly challenging task [just keeping track of Hoshi can be hard enough in itself]. If you do the super long guide, im here of it. [thats the only one wotrh doing, there are too many members for the shorter guides to provide meaningful details]
Enjoying your reactions and the fact that you’re “warming up to them” 😅 ❤ With the long guide video, would you film it bit by bit, make it a series? Maybe that would make it easier for you. As a suggestion, next time there are no subtitles, maybe you could google the English translation of the lyrics and read them before watching. I think it would help you understand the storyline and emotions. Although music is a universal language, and most of it is being portrayed through dance too, it’s still nice to get the full poetic meaning, because their song lyrics are ever so beautiful!
Thanks for another reaction. You can check out the super lomg guide but as the name suggests its long so you can go at your own pace. I dont mind long videos and the pauses i like to know your thoughts on the song and mv as a whole
Super long guide 2023 will not feel long if you watch it 😂 Make part 1, 2, 3 is okay Intro + hip hop team Performance team Vocal team I love your reaction Didn't get bored watching the video for more than 30 minutes 🤣
Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. Love ur hair Kerry. Don't Wanna Cry , is a fav. Just stunning, perfect, chef's kiss for me. Love the feels. Love the choreo and fits. Really a stand out song. Amazing vocals too. Just a pleasure to listen too, really. Woozi, Jeonghan, Joshua, and DKs parts really stood out to me. Also, Wonwoo, and the other rappers low parts. It's a lot of practice. Figuring out the members by hair color is not a good idea. They change hair color and style often. To me if ur hurting and u live in a city u would go walking or run. If u love the ocean u would walk with ur pain there. The imagery fits the song. S. Coups is the rap unit leader, yes. For SVT its best to watch MV and dance practice in one go. Behind the scenes too if they have. I just use BTS model for all, lol. MV or song if no MV, dance practice, behind the scenes, performance vid if there is one, the other MV if there is more than one. U know the standard, lol. Borahae. -NY USA 2019 Army💟
We do realize how hard it is to learn all members of Seventeen. How about if every time you react to a Seventeen group MV or other video, you additionally watch one or two short videos that's focused on a single member? Like you could go in age order and say ok this is gonna be S. Coups day so suggest to us what fanmade videos or other videos to watch that's just S. Coups focused. Then next time it's Jeonghan day and so on. I think if you get them individually like that it's easier for the faces to stick. That way we can recommend videos to you like S. Coups being a leader compilation or some Hoshi tiger agenda video or The8 being savage etc.
Hmm.. what WOULD a single seventeen member be called? lol Well, Seventeen members are often called 'Sebongs'. It comes from the romanization of Seventeen's name in Korean - 세븐틴 as Sebeuntin. In Korean it's ~cute to change words ending in the 'n' sound to 'ng' so a shortened, cuter name was born - Sebongs. So maybe a singular member would be a Sebong? lol And now I've hyper fixated on this thought for too long so I'll just say thank you for more Seventeen reactions! The longer the better tbh! The guide will definitely answer some of the questions you've already asked and add insight to things you've mentioned being curious about so when you do get there I think you'll definitely get a better feel for the dynamics and where each member falls within the strengths of the group as a whole
I don't want to be that person, but... I just feel like when you pause the video, you kill the vibe and emotions. 🥲 I know that's how you guys used to and want to do it. But maybe pause when one section of the song passes by and discuss. This is just my opinion, sorry guys, don't come at me pls 🥲🥲🥲
Thanks for another reaction. You can check out the super lomg guide but as the name suggests its long so you can go at your own pace. I dont mind long videos and the pauses i like to know your thoughts on the song and mv as a whole

One of their most iconic songs!!! The 2x dance is crazy
The long guide is so worth it. Knowing the members is loving the members. You get to understand the magic of the group so much better :)
Seventeen group leader: S. Coups
Hip Hop team leader: S. Coups
Vocal team leader: Woozi
Performance team leader: Hoshi
I knew this would be next lol. If Aju Nice was their big hit song in Korea, this was their first big breakthrough internationally. This song and their 2x dance (esp Jeonghan) is what made me stan

UGH YES THE PRETTY U X FEAR COMBO IS A GENIUS SUGGESTION!
And totally agree with the super long svt guide by caratline17
The super long guide? I'm in! ❤❤❤
You guys are so silly but why do I love it 😅 I actually get excited when I see you uploaded a Seventeen reaction.

This was my first video I saw of them. Their choreo immediately drew me in. Great musicality. I will watch your reaction to the dance practice next.
I LOOK FORWARD TO THE LONG GUIDE!!
Honestly the “Super long SVT Guide” sounds more intimidating than it actually is😂 Every reactor i’ve seen so far is surprised how quickly it went by
Yes!!! Do the super long guide!
I feel like the lyrics of this song makes it much sadder ❤️❤️
I think, given your reaction to this choreo, you should check out their actual dance practices (in their Inside Seventeen playlist). Where you get a chance to actually see them work out different choreo. I think you will love them just as much!!!!
“I don’t like emotions”
Can’t wait for SVT ballad reactions 😏
Sad lyrics hiding in a cheerful song 😂
Ohhh I can't recommend it enough you guys definitely need to react to Kiss of life. Each of the members had a solo this year before debuting (and they had a super great come-back recently 🤩)~!

Waiting for super long seventeen guide 2023 reaction
You can do a super long guide by separate them in parts!
Super long guide 2023 will not feel long if you watch it 😂
Make part 1, 2, 3 is okay
Intro + hip hop team

Vocal team
I love your reaction
