The MK Movie Character Skins seem to have fewer intros than the default voice actors of Johnny Cage, Raiden & Sonya, especially with the DLC characters.

In these times, it’s understandable. Their age, the pandemic, it’s possible that not too many was done with their voices for security reasons, well possibly. Might be other reasons.

You can tell that Linden Ashby has wanted to play Johnny Cage again for a long time. Listening to his performance here, it's like the first movie had an actual good sequel where Cage never died.
I mean, the reason Cage was scripted to die at all was because that happened in the game's plot.
So no one was high.

I like he's doing his own take on the lines and not just imitating the normal VA, really helps give the performance its own life.
Linden's Cage was way more laid back and cool than the Cage from the games, so it makes sense that his delivery has kind of a chill vibe to it.

@Dante2014 Yeah. The one with Scorpion in particular I find, "But you'd be co-starring with yours truly!" Vanilla Johnny says it like "you have to share the spotlight with me!" but Linden's Johnny is more "you get to share the spotlight with ME!"

I am most likely going to be buying MK11 as soon as I'm able to simply because of all the original movie actors who have reprised their roles in this game. Whatever I have to do to get these versions of the characters I will absolutely do it.

One thing I wished is that the voice actor of Kano was still alive. That would of been perfect 😊. Even tho I adore the one now.
What's cool about Linden Ashby being in the game now is he pretty much defined what the Johnny Cage character would be like from 1995 to now. The guy improvised a lot of his lines, including the $500 sunglasses one.
Same with Trevor Goddard who played Kano, he's a ruffian Australian in all the games.

Most memorable line in the whole movie. I never forgot it and would have loved to hear it again.
With how much Netherrealm has embraced thr movie I am surprised it wasn't somewhere in the game.

Just like Rayden’s voice actor, Liden Ashby is still badass as Johnny Cage since the 1995 movie, it makes me want to watch the movie again. THANKS MK fire and ice for making me feel nostalgic. Linden Ashby still kills it as Hollywood’s arrogant fighter to this day.

I honestly believe we should thank Cary Tagawa for this....his willingness to reprise his role as Shang Tsung probably helped pave the way to this DLC.

I am loving Linden Ashby’s voice acting. His ego and assholish personality is what I have been dying to see the side of Johnny. I enjoyed the movie and enjoying the intros.
Linden as Johnny Cage reprasing his Johnny Cage role, even in game form is as close to a cinematic universe as we'll get. I say the same thing with Gary, Bridgette, and Christopher.

I'm sorry, hearing Lindon talk about the $500 sunglasses is like a billion times better than hearing the other guy. I don't know if it's my childhood bias, but the nostalgia is overpowering. And to believe, I cheered the first time I heard that line because they referenced the movie?
It's not bias. It's the truth. Linden did the voice acting of Cage way better than the default voice actor.

I love that they gave the movie skins there OG voices because even though they have the same voicelines, the different voices, inflections and deliveries makes them feel like a version of the characters from a different timeline to me
Especially Johnny's definition of Baraka is good. Original voice states it and this one is asking about it.
Of the 3, Linden Ashby did the best job, he doesn’t sound perfect but still good. Sonya is kinda off (still better than Rousy), and (sadly) I just can’t understand Christopher Lambert.
Unfortunately, Lambert's voice was a victim to his chain-smoking.

We need to consider the fact that they had to read over original VA with the same speed etc. so I guess that was quite a challenge. Nevertheless I think Linden Ashby has still his own voice not altered that much by age, and he's a skillful actor. He delivers real cocky Johnny we know and love so kudos to him. Brigitte Wilson was never as talented IMO, so I don't hear much of improvement over Ronda Rousey when it comes to acting but she has still overall better, more feminine voice. Christopher Lambert is 63 now, and sadly it looks like he's voice really changed. Which is real shame because it was always so iconic. Maybe it's age, his health or life style that caused this but you can clearly hear something is off and sound designers couldn't do much with it obviously. They did somewhat better job with Stallone's Rambo (he sounds little bit off, but mostly fine), and I was pretty impressed with Tagwa's Shang Tsung (his voice may be more monotone than in the movie, but it still fits the character really well).

The difference is very simple. Canon = truth, authentic. Cannon = a siege weapon.
Linden Ashby did a great job. He sometimes sounds like he's reading, but Cage-Con and a Double Double or Poser or his other interactions work well

That Shang Sung intro about Master Boyd just makes sense with this skin feels like they added it for this.
After seeing Johnny in MK1, you can see a mix of both Johnny and Linden in his character design.

Personal opinion here. Linden Ashby and Andrew Bowen are equally good as Johnny Cage. Both have their unique take on him. Makes me wish Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa wasn't the only actor from the 95 MK movie to reprise his role in the story mode. Linden would've been great as young Johnny while Andrew would've voiced old Johnny.
