PLEASE JUST COME TEACH MY STATS CLASS. Like even though this is only the beginning, I have a very bad stats teacher for my first semester according to everyone. YIKES
Math videos like this make me question the school system. They need to stretch out a lesson for hours every day, I honestly just learned more in a couple on minuted than hours at school
It is possible to solve the question, what is the median, and what is the number that represents the lower quartile and the upper quartile in the question:34,35,36,38,40,42,42,43,45,50,55,65
Shouldn't Q3 be 14.75? Since the formula to find Q3 is [3(N+1)]/4, and N=12, Q3 would equal 9.75 which means to say Q3 would be at the 9.75th position right? 14.5 would be halfway between the 9th and 10th number which is 14 and 15 respectively, but Q3 should be at the 9.75th position, meaning it should be 14.75, no?
But 14+15 divided by 2 is then when the value of Q3 might be 9.5 .that indicate get the value Q3 = size of 9th item and + size of 10th item divided by 2. 14.75 is correct
Excuse sir! Can you explain how you got 12.5 when finding the median of the second Quartile? I thought the median, in this case for even numbers, was to take the 2 middle numbers, add them and then divide by 2.
MySecretMathTutor You're beautiful! Thank you! I have my first statistics exam of the semester and you're going to help lots! You've got yourself a new sub!
My stats prof says it is a seminar class so I assume that you have gone through the book yourself. I'm like how can I even imagine what the shit is this
The 1.5 is an often used "rule" to determine outliers. I say "rule," because you could technically choose other values like 2, or 1.6. You can thank John Tukey for the wide use of 1.5. i know right!!!
I agree with you in spirit. It takes a bit more time to explain when you're also managing 20-30+ teenagers, who are all learning at different paces.
You are so good at explaining things, it makes it a lot less scary.
After nine years (2021) you're video still able to help me. Thank you so much !

Where did u get the 1.5 from.?
it's called Modified boxPlot where 1.5 is consider to check outliers.
is it constant for all box plots?
No it depends on your nature of analysis BUT 1.5 is standard to take.
Mercedes Ruiz its the IQR so u have to subtract 12.5 from 11
He should have explained where this 1.5 came from. At first, I thought it was an arbitrary number, but it isn't.
Great video, thanks!
Very helpful video! Thanks much :D
Thanks, this helped a lot!
Thanks it really helped me out!
Thanks! So helpful
It was so helpful
Thankz sir.superb
how did you get 1.5?
its definate value Its 1.5 times the interquartile range thats why always put 1.5xIQR Add up with Q3 and subtract with Q1
why did you pick 17 as the high? because the 22 was chosen as the outliers?
it's helped a little but how did u get the .5 on of the answers I thought u had to add them and them and then split them in half
thank you man really helped
Thank you I have a test today, wish me luck, please!
Best of luck. Your hard work will pay off! :^D
Handwriting tips please :P
Very helpful

14.75 is correct
Thanks for this!
Thank you 🙋♂️
Would this be more of a modified box plot?
Thanks million
Excuse sir!

Where did you get the 1.5 at 2.50?

My stats prof says it is a seminar class so I assume that you have gone through the book yourself. I'm like how can I even imagine what the shit is this
