Butter or ghee is not suitable if one is vegan and this recipe is a vegan recipe that is also gluten and sugar free. 💖 Vegans do not eat, wear, use, etc anything that comes from an animal, so no eggs, no honey, no dairy (inch includes butter), no meat, no fish, no gelatin because it comes from the hooves of cows, no white granulated sugar (at least in the US and a few other countries as they use charred animal bones for whitening the sugar), no leather items, no fur items, no feather wearing,, no pearls or seashells, and the list goes on. If it comes from an animal who has not given explicit permission for it to be used or consumed, it is not vegan. Vegetarians, in the other hand often eat eggs, dairy and honey, but vegans do not. Neither butter (nor ghee which is simply clarified butter) is most certainly not healthier than avocado oil. I am not sure where you are getting your info stating that it is healthier or if it is merely your opinion being stated, but avocado oil been scientifically proven to be healthier than butter and why it is recommended as a fat source for people who have had heart attacks, angina attacks, etc and are told to avoid butter and other animal fats that clog the heart’s arteries. If you are getting that info being stated as fact, I would love to know your source and how old the info they are using is. Could you please share the source, as it is not scientifically accurate. Although in all honesty, butter and oil are both unhealthy in general, although fat is essential for the body, the fat should ideally be in it’s natural form, so eating an avocado or mashing it up ro use in recipes instead of oil, but that is not always easy to do and people do not always want to go with what is healthiest for their body. I grew up as a meat eater, on a farm, and I do agree the taste of butter in baked goods surpasses that of oil, but as a vegan, one can achieve really tasty baked goods but that don’t harm any living creature.
Do you think this recipe would work with a couple of changes due to anaphylactic allergy to nuts? Would oat flour, alternative milk & half oil/half apple sauce work to replace nut butter perhaps?
