this is a prime example of a good driver. I'm lucky enough to work in parts supply in Norway (incl. Mercedes Trucks), so this is one of our main customers! Trucking in Norways hills is for the pro guys.
Hello Concrete Man, this was an incredible trip, and I really think this was probably one of the best videos you've done. You are very skilled to be driving that huge truck through those narrow tunnels and roads. Lovely scenery thanks! 😁👍
I was really wondering why the comment of my most loyal follower is missing?😊 Thanks for the compliments and I hope you are well, too. God bless you!
What does this video have going for it? -An incredibly competent driver/operator. -Going though some of the most gorgeous scenery in the world. -With high quality equipment. -Also sharing the road with other competent drivers -On an absolutely crazy road. -Well shot and edited. Edit: I'm almost certainly sure this wouldn't be allowed here in Canada and you'd have to heli it the last stretch.
The last 8 years of my driving career was operating a cement mixer truck in the Ozark mountains in Arkansas USA. We went to some pretty wild locations, a couple times we needed a bulldozer to help pull us up the steeper inclines. And getting stuck up to our axles was a common occurrence.
hi really cool movie you made the skill you Norwegians trukers must have is largely compared to a Dane 😉, the road from the gate up the mountain is it private?
Thanks for the appreciation. We had access for trucks, but I don't know if it is also open to tourism. It leads to a hydroelectric plant. Theoretically, I think it is open.
what is your balance % between engine braking and using the air brakes ? so that you prevent overheating the brakes going downhill. Beautiful nature what a place to have a office :) and you make this look easy.
There is no balance rule when it comes to braking. It depends a lot on the experience and skills of the driver. But, you must be sure to use the engine brake in most situations. Yes, excessive use of the service brake can overheat the wheels. Heavy trucks have an extra engine brake called a retarder. It closes the intake ducts, thus slowing down the car.
@@adrianopol Thanks firstly for sharing your videos and second, if that truck has the retarder, the Mercedes Benz retarder, I only can say that is the best brake you can have... I usually drove in the past a 1998 Mercedes Benz 2540 3 axle V6 engine and telligent gearbox... It was a nice truck and the thing I remember the most is that super effective retarder, never drove a truck with similar "brakes"... Awesome! and btw... those mountains are incredibly nice... a pity not every mountain road is open for the public; i know some of them you have to pay a toll and others are closed to 4x4 vehicles like mine...
@@adrianopol Slightly late reply, but are you not worried about the rear wheels locking on a loose surface like this during engine braking or using the retarder? Or, do you have the longitudinal differential locks engaged, or is this mixer heavy enough where that's not a problem like it is on a 4x2 tractor?
Thanks for the question. When we talk about off road, people often have only one image in mind. But there are several types of offroad: rally raid, cross-country, rock crawling, muding, dune blashing, green laning. There is no space here to describe each one separately, but the above episode falls into this last type called: "green laning"
I use the engine brake, which brakes more efficiently using the retarder. The level of use of the retarder depends a lot on how loaded I am and how steep the respective valley is.

Dear friend, in my opinion, followers of any religion, even atheists, are respected, and I want to say a sentence that respects all opinions....I have understood that even if we believe by our own free will that there is no God, we really cannot Let's consider beauty and wonder as the birth of the Big Bang or any other spontaneous evolution. Fantastic trip in the Norwegian mountain. Narrow roads and steep hills with lots of turns. Very good driving skills. Thanks for the ride.

Pretty cold summer at 12 degrees C. We rarely get that in winter in Australia in most places. Lovely video. Thanks.😀
We had an 8 degree in July but and 27 degree in same summer. Thanks, too.

Nothing off-road in this but cool ride.
thanks!
Beautifull place
Yes, it is!
Terrific scenery, great driving skills! No seatbelts??
With seatbelts, of course. Only in cases where I have to be prepared to jump out of the truck. :)
Да, в Норвегии клаустрафобия не грозит, проезжая туннели😁
Are over 1.000 tunnels in Norway. But not than this episode 😅 . This was really narrow.
How many screens do you want? all
😂😂😂

I agree with you!
Wow! amazing road, how and why was it built?
This road connects to a hydroelectric plant located in the mountains.

It is a good idea. I will think about it. Thank you!
Der var det smalt og bratt og svingete. Ikke bare bare med svær lastebil! Flott manøvrering 👏👏 hvor er dette🤔😃

Flott film! Er dette Stora Volavatnet ovenfor Evanger?
YES, exactly! :)
There is no bottoms of the hills in Norway
No valley is too deep. Including the gaps in our lives.
Come in Romania 😊

all the trap is off road 😅
No cb radio to call out to other trucks ??? You would think this would be a necessity
Not because I rarely deliver over such long distances as here...
do you use jack brake or do call it as retarder brake and at which stage 1 2 3 ?
