It’s like you’re watching a artist paint a picture from start to end and every part of the picture has a purpose. It’s like if you watched a painter start painting a picture and tell him to stop. Then you say it’s looks dumb and judge the painting. Then he tells you to sit back and let him finish.
It looks strange now until you see the whole image. Then you sit back and let him finish and look again and see a absolute masterpiece that you did not see the first look you judged his painting too early. In music like Kendrick’s you miss a lot of substance if you listen one time and only leave with a few things you heard. Because his songs are not surface level he’s going to make you think about every single line.
In his song you didn’t catch the references, entendres, alliteration, metaphors, similes, hyperbole and personification all in his music. That’s how Kendrick is we live in a time period in hip hop where music everything is fast food. Once you bite into the first time you already know what it’s going to taste like every time. The industry has endorsed all these degenerate rappers to make us get use to fast food music.
They did this to make our attention spans for music way shorter and to suppress the power of our brains on what we are capable of comprehending. It’s so bad to where we don’t want to actually use our brains to analyze songs and other things in life everything is short reels. It’s to where we’ve become accustomed to just expecting club bangers with no meaningful impact. Just manufactured music to appease to our mood at the moment same as fast food to suppress are hunger at that moment.
