  • In todays video I show you how to make my Swiffer reusable mop pads, I made these 4 years ago and have made a ton since lol I figured today would be a great time to share the pattern with you! In this video I go over the pattern and show you how to put them together but I also discuss the difference between hook and loop velcro. It can be confusing when your looking at it online and cant really see it so I give you a short tutorial in that as well lol. These mops are a literal life saver and I hope you enjoy this video.

    Good for you, you never know what you can do until you have to make it work - you were meant to do what you have - I have been sewing for 45 years and I need to do something with my time as I am partially retired. I am going to try your mop pads - love that they can be washed and used again.

    Girl I have to say that you and I are so much a like that I am sitting here towards the end of your video tearing up. Granite you have support from your husband to which though I don't and so that is added pressure on me in anything I want to do. I want to see that all of my talents (which I was telling you briefly in another one of your videos)don't just get washed down the drain because my stress, chest pains, fears, doubts, worries all that on top of having no support system and having no money to pay the bills that are placed in my lap. Everytime I hear a bit truck come by I am feeling my heart rate go up, ears open in fear that someone is here to pick up my car because I just have not been able to keep up. I know exactly what you are talking about and seeing the look you give puts it even more into perspective too as I am feeling like right now. I just want to be able to pay off my debts, keep working on what I love to do then to be able to financially be able to help people in my community that are hurting, struggling and being so overwhelmed inside of losing it all. I want to be able to help a family or person with paying on their bills, to be able to set it up so they won't have to worry about getting food in their homes to feed their kids or worry that their cars will be taken from them etc. Your down to earth self on a video showing and telling how you do and got started is sure helping me to use what I have, quit getting more, and to take the leap of faith and allow God to put his hands into my life. Thank you.

    Excellent video, thank you for sharing. Why did you decide to use batting on your pads, seems like it adds an unnecessary amount of bulk. I think your pattern could be modified to work on any kind of dustmop!

    • @faithwerksdesigns6197
      @faithwerksdesigns6197  5 дней назад

      I thought it needed the thickness to clear better, you could push down on it to scrub. Most mop heads aren't flat or super thin so it made sense to me.

    Why is the soft Velcro across the among us fabric? Wouldn’t the stuffed mop head be in between the straps and among us fabric?

    • @faithwerksdesigns6197
      @faithwerksdesigns6197  Год назад +1

      The velcro attaches to the bottom of the mop so it doesn't spin around 🙂

      @@samanthatansley nope, I buy in bulk so it sits there till I need it and if I run out of the other first I just order more so they match up. We never throw things away around here lol

    Do you have to use batting in the straps?

    • @faithwerksdesigns6197
      @faithwerksdesigns6197  2 года назад

      I'd suggest it for beefing it up, If you just used cotton fabric after a little time it would get warn out and your straps wouldn't last as long. If the thickness has you worried you can always just use one piece and see if that would work.
