The other thing I would be concerned about is whether the vehicle had ever been in an accident severe enough to compromise the integrity of the batteries and battery compartment. This might not show until much later when a battery or two decide to undergo thermal runaway..
Battery life/condition and replacement cost have been an obvious concern of mine for some time. They do not want to talk about it. Thanks for getting it out there.
The Nissan Leaf has a battery SOH gauge right in the dash, twelve bars that disappear as SOH decreases. Something like this should be mandatory on all BEV vehicles.
There is more. The Battery Management System software needs to be updated to give a correct SOH if you use a ODB2 connector. Known issue for Renault Zoe's. SOH went from 89% to 98% after the BMS update. So people think the battery is not that good but that is not correct.
I disagree re Tesla, I have one nearly 4 years from new,and it's been amazing, the only car that's literally cost me nothing during that time , except for the insurance but it's a performance car that does 5 m/kWh so hard to beat...

Thanks that’s a great issue to look out for as well!
Have an EV and absolutely agree with this. Especially as it can be variable based on owner habits

That's great to hear!

Great to know. Many thanks.
👀 very useful information - fantastic.
THANK YOU !
Glad it was helpful!
Supertip! Thanks.
The LEAF is the only EV that I think does give you SOH on the dashboard.
that's awesome!
A move the right direction but not accurate, it will loose its first bar at 85% so it can seem to be excellent but in it had lost already 14%.
@@jeanpaulmartin9696, given the age of the battery, 14% degradation IS excellent.
I have a Bluetooth obd2 dongle used with the carscanner app. It shows battery SOH.
That’s great, there are indeed some apps and cars that support it.
When everything is EV, how will the army work?
That sounds offtopic.
Maintenance CHEAP? 😂🤣😂
