Looking at this tank really makes me reminds of that old and classic 1988 movie "The Beast"; an American movie about Soviet T-55 operating in Afghanistan war. Funnily enough, the "T-55" they used in that film was a Tiran 4S, and they acquired the tank from IDF surplus stock thanks to the assistance of Dale Dye- Military technical advisor that also famously known for his role in Saving Private Ryan (technical military advisory/training, and acting as one of the commanding officer in Utah Beach that gave Captain Miller to save Private Ryan) as well as his role in Band of Brothers (training/advisory, also acting as Colonel Sink)

I loved that movie, but i read somewhere that they actually used a Tiran 5, i might be wrong tho.
The Beast utilized Israeli Tirans to simulate soviet tanks. It's a fantastic movie that was sleeped on during its inital release.

7.7 line up is pretty good, you need them magachs in your lineup. However, Isreal needs light tanks at 7.7- 11.3 throughout.

IRL the tiran series was made out of captured tanks… some made into APC’s
I think that's one of the reasons that they put a 105mm in it, they can easily supply themselves with 105 munitions but Russia probably wouldn't have agreed to sell them more 100mm shells.
They need to add the Tiran 5 and 6 also... and M-50... freaking Gaijin.

If you look at the tank from the side it looks like the front is raised more compared to the back. Not sure if its accurate or not but it gives you less gun depression.

I prefer the 100mm on the non S model. The BR412D is such an amazing round and trading it for 105 APDS feels like a sin.
Love these tanks. I love the tank also, and it looks like the skin on the T54s on Far Cry 6, such a clean skin. Love these video, was aswemo to watch.
I want to get my hands on the Far Cry 6 tank skins for the tech tree vehicles, but WT live doesn't have them :(
i've been playing this tank and i prefer this over the tiran 4 because of the apds stock and GOAT camo it gets
edit: best way to differentiate the 4 and 4s is the roof mg placement
Also more best way to differentiate them is that the 4S has centric Bore Evacuator while the original Tiran 4 has a bore evacuator near the muzzle. the "S" name in its designated Tiran 4S doesn't stand for something random; it stands for "Sharir", the IDF designation of their locally-produced M68 rifled gun lol
I think the ztz59a is best t54 BR wise, has a vertical stabiliser, laser range finder and br412d at same br but only 100m but I'd trade for 5mm less for the other benefits
This thing reminds me of the tanks from Far Cry 6. Skin and all. Only difference being the 105mm.
Tiran means Tyrant in Hebrew, we called it this way because it was used by dictatorships.
Damn, that's a neat camo. I love Israel's TT, even though it could still use more vehicles, I like the whole idea of taking anything available being soviet or western and modify it to suit your needs.
The biggest issue with Israel right now is that they start with a very rough lineup with pretty bad performing vehicles, so it's really hard to get into. The HEAT shermans as cool as they look are trash in WT, and let's not talk about the missile half track...
The M-51 is trash? News to me. I'm having a blast in it.

Not sure if this is better than a T-54 tho. Judging by the turret of the tiran, it's based on either the T-54 1949 or T-54 1951. And both of them have acces to HEATFS and APDS which perform very similarly to this + the devastating APHE.
I've always thought about it. Maybe its a dumb idea, but what about the idea of a winch system in those times you get stuck without a team mate to help?
justin, you mentioned you might change the decal to have a beard and everything. Does that then require us to get it again? Aka do we get to have both or will the new one not make it into the game?
I still prefer T-54 1951, Type 59 and ZTZ59A.

I used to play the fuck outta this thing. It's actually super effective against Russians in general or anything that mains aphe and has good armour. Or it was until apds got fucked up and now it feels shitter than heat
Leo1 has better mobility, better sights, much better reload and its lower br than this, why?
And better turret armor since leopard turret can stop APDS for some reason.

I wish I could get into the Israeli tree without buying a premium, but the M-51 is just absolute trash. Slow, basically no armor at this BR and the HEAT has so much post-pen a rude word would deal more damage to an enemy. No to mention the shells have a hitbox twice the projectile's size, making them snag on trees or gun barrels.

So gearing up domestic production is important.
US sold in limited capacity, France pulled out on many deals, Britain sold in limited capacity, most of their stock were vintage WWII and scrapped vehicles from various countries near the region..
