I'm homeless, and make a lot of my work with found items, usually just picked up off the street, but occasionally I'll see something pretty on the top of a trash can, like after birthday parties at public parks. A couple of videos ago, I was prying a piece of paper apart, cut it up, and eventually pasted it to the front of my calendar- and now, what was once the wrapper on a water bottle, is now an abstract background of lakes and mountains with a neat wedge cut out of it where the logo used to be. A lot of cigarette and marijuana packaging goes towards my decoupage, especially when I can find the special edition Camel packs that spotlight artists. I've also picked up countless pretty beads and confetti from abandoned parties, marbles, and sometimes little figurines. Sometimes I'm even able to reunite an item with its owner!!
