It’s the fun singing Game Show that’s coming to Australia it’s The Singing Bee based on the U.S. show that aired on NBC in 2007 hosted by Joey Fatone with the premiere getting 13,100,000 viewers the biggest summer show premiere since Dancing With The Stars in 2005 on ABC in mid 2007 it was announced that Channel Nine had picked up the format to air an Australian version of The Singing Bee with auditions for contestants taking place In Melbourne in August then on September 24th 2007 it was announced that Joey Fatone would host The Singing Bee Australia after the original plan was to have David Campbell as host but was unavailable due to other commitments it premiered on Sunday October 7th 2007 and airing on Sunday night’s at 6.30pm up against Australian Idol on Channel Ten and National Bingo Night on Channel Seven in the ratings the format has 6 contestants playing a series of games and only 1 winner will become The Singing Bee Champion and will play in the Bonus Round called The Final Countdown for a chance to win $50,000 it has a House Band led by Dorian West and had back up singers in Andrew De Silva, Rob "Millsy" Mills, Lucy Holmes, Judd Field and Sandii Keenan it got solid ratings for Channel Nine in 2008 it became The Celebrity Singing Bee with Tim Campbell as host airing sporadically between 2008 and 2010 The Singing Bee is recorded in front of a LIVE studio audience at the legendary Studio 9 at the Channel Nine Studios in Melbourne this is The Singing Bee enjoy the video.
