Hello to everyone ! We are a new subscriber. We don't have long experience in cruising , only 2 cruises so far , but I think that this nice group of people with the owners of the channel at the head will help us learn a lot of new and useful things . Thank you
We’re booked on MSC in May - from Miami to Marseille. Your FB post made me a bit nervous - we’ve sailed with MSC twice before…once was good, the other not so much. Hoping that your experience was more due to the new itinerary. Will you please share info about the activities during sea days? Lectures? Arts & crafts? (Hubby would love to do some painting/watercolor - wondering if we should bring our own supplies). Thanks for sharing!!
I'm thinking the MSC snafu was more because everything was new. We were let down by the onboard activities. If you like to dance. There's at least one dance class a day (salsa, bachata, etc.) The arts and crafts class was kinda basic...both involved cutting paper and drawing. There was no instruction nor a teacher, per SE. We brought our own drawing supplies. There's bingo, but no trivia. I think because of the language challenges on board, there's not a lot of game show stuff. There was a pickleball court but no organized tournies. Of all the ships we've been on, MSC's activities and entertainment were the least interesting.
I'm desperate to do a repositioning cruise. Joey's not so thrilled with the idea of so many sea days. He thinks he'll be bored. We've the Panama Canal booked for later this year. 16 days from San Diego, down the coast of Mexico, through the Canal, back up the coast and ending up in Tampa. There are more sea than port days that trip, so we'll see how he copes before I bring up the idea of a repositioning again. P.S. I kinda liked the beard.
We adore our sea days. They're a nice break from port after port after port. It's a nice rhythm. Steve and I will go the whole day not seeing each other! Sorry about the beard, but Chris loves it that way.
Im actually looking at a cruise right now which is from Dubai to either Messina Italy, or Rome Or Genoa (choice where you disembark) its also with MSC which we haven't cruised with before. I'm liking the ports on it and the price is great also. It's 18-21 nights depending on the final destination. Thinking we would prefer a balcony though for that many nights. Its actually a Grand Voyage not a repositioning cruise. I'm liking that it would cut our flights from sydney australia by only having to fly to Dubai and cruise the rest of the way to Europe.
Our last cruise from Italy to Saudi was on MSC. We had some challenges with their lack of communication and customer service, but I loved the ship, the ports, and the low price.
That's a great cruise. We found on repositioning cruises we're not in the room much because there's so much space on the ship so we don't feel we'd take advantage of the balcony much
My wife and I live in southern Italy. We would like to begin testing repositioning cruise concept from Europe ( prefer departing from Italian port if we can) to America. We are very very new to repositioning. Can you tell us which company is your favorite, did you get balcony or inside cabins and why? Which port did you use from America to Europe and vice versa? Thanks in advance for your help and prompt response! Take care.
Oh welcome! We tend to end up on Princess mostly, use Fort Lauderdale in the US, Barcelona/Rome/Southampton in Europe. We like inside cabins because they're dark and sleeping is great. Also cheaper!
I really enjoy your videos. Am Looking for a cruise for two from the US to Australia, October, / November and the cheapest one is just under $3000 pp. so 6k ! how did you find that route for 4k for both of you?! Im looking on vacations togo. Any more advice, tips or tricks ?! TY!
Good question. We have 1 "nice" outfit that we wear on formal nights. Cruises have become more casual, and we really don't need a tux and a ball gown to fit in.
For 2024, please don’t expect repositioning cruises, at least those between the USA and Europe to have few passengers. Almost all such cruises are going to be sold out! Completely full! Do a trial booking to confirm this & you’ll see how few cabins are unsold.
Wait a moment…are you able to live your life on cruise ships on a nominal budget of $4K a month? That’s insanely affordable. How is this done? Where do I sign up!!!???
Yes, we absolutely can. See our next video that goes live on Sunday at 5 pm for all the details of our budget. You'll be amazed at the rich life we live and how much it costs. Coming on 6/4 a complete breakdown of our budget. Subscribe with alerts!
It's okay to call it a "boat"...I call it a boat all the time, but my wife tries to correct me to call it a ship. She's from Eastern Europe and she's trying to correct my English. As far as I'm concerned, in American vernacular, a boat is the same thing as a ship. It's like calling a copy a Xerox or a Coke a pop. My answer to that correction is: You know what I mean. Besides, the most famous cruise ship was call a "boat", it's the Princess ship from the TV show "The Love Boat". That's where calling a cruise ship a boat got started....
You can call the cruise ship a boat if you want. There is a difference. You can put a boat on a ship, however you cannot put a ship on a boat. A lifeboat is stationed on a cruise ship. You would not call an aircraft carrier a boat. A tugboat assists a cruise ship when maneuvering in a port. Yes, there was a tv series called The Love Boat. I am sure the name came from someone who was not familiar with nautical terms. Such is Hollywood.
@@druegillis1744 Yes kind Sir, I know the actual difference. The comment was about the use of semantics. Semantics is the study of meaning in language. It can be applied to entire texts or to single words. For example, "destination" and "last stop" technically mean the same thing, but students of semantics analyze their subtle shades of meaning. They both have the SAME MEANING. The whole point of my comment is that nobody should care whether someone calls a cruise ship a boat or a ship. Everyone knows what it means when it is said in the context of a cruise ship, calling something a "boat" is not referring to it being a cheese burger, a tractor trailer or an air conditioner.
Wow 2 new continents! Egypt & Asia! Congratulations you guys just discovered a whole new continent! 9:20
Thank you. Australia coming up in October!
This is interesting why did I not know about this ! Makes sense ! Looking fabulous 😘😘
It's a great strategy
Great video. We are newly retired and love the idea of a repositioning cruise!
They've become the "workhorse" of our strategy. Congrats on your retirement. Hope to see you on a cruise!
What a great adventure!!
Thanks. When will you go?
Thanks for the video. We just booked our first repositioning cruise in November 2023 from Rome to NYC. P.S. Love Steve's look!
Awesome. You'll have so much fun!
I do too!
Latreash, how did you book?

Welcome aboard!
Love Steve's new look!
me too!
Thanks for all good information
Thank YOU for following!
Great video. We keep thinking we need to try one of these one day soon as we really dislike flying and have all kinds of time. Thanks for sharing.
And no jet lag!
If you fly one way to reach the Ship or return home, then there will still be jet lag.
Like to see a few videos before deciding to join channel. The casino isn't crowded. Petra is an ancient city. Vacations to go is really good.
We hope to have yoy
We are doing our first repositioning cruise in April 2024. 15 days, Miami to Barcelona Spain, on Oasis of the Seas.
It's such a great way to get to Europe! Bring drawing tools.

Thanks! We are thinking of a repositioning cruise but it maybe awhile.
They work well for us.
In our experience these routes don't sell out, so you may be able to get a good last-minute deal

@@EatWalkLearn I agree they are a nice break. But too many could get monotonous lol.
Great video! We're doing a 16 day Alaska/Hawaii in September with NCL. Going to be interesting to pack for!
Wow, it will be!

Hi… found your page today researching renting a car in Italy. I’m still here..
Which cruise line we’re you on that traveled the Suez canal?
It was MSC

We just did some research that suggests waiting as long as you can before buying. Check out the video we just published today.
We went on Majestic lady Nov from La to Sydney for $4400
Doing one from Seattle to Tokyo 9/30-10/15 2024. Have you guys done this one? If so, what was the weather like out on sea days and in Tokyo?
We did it in reverse in April. It ranged from nice to chilly, calm to rough seas. We loved it
@@EatWalkLearn Glad you guys enjoyed it. This will be our first repositioning cruise.
How do you manage needed clothing on cruises?
Good question. We have 1 "nice" outfit that we wear on formal nights. Cruises have become more casual, and we really don't need a tux and a ball gown to fit in.
I cant find where you can search for repositioning cruises.
Go to vacationstogo.com and click on All Regions>>Repositioning

It drove me batty, when you both called ships a boat!!!!! I don't think I will watch your video again.
