This is one of my favorite scenes ever from Sonny and Brenda. "You really think it's just that simple?" "I can't say I'll marry you, if I think, that there is...anything, that could go wrong...between us..." Beautifully delivered lines, especially if you know the complete history between these two.

I still believe deep down inside Sonny loves Brenda. They don't want him to show his love for Brenda. That would ruin his disgusting life he has with loudmouth. And now it seems Nina is a love interest for him. Pathetic.

The ONLY reason why he is not with Brenda is because she just VISITS the show. I don’t like when she comes back because I want to see her end up with Sonny and currently that is not how the show is written. It would be weird to see him married to Carly if she did return. I’d rather enjoy som of these clips where they do get married.People joke for Sonny leaving her at the altar back in the 90’s but he left her to protect her NOT because he didn’t love her. As for goofy Jax he left her at the altar because she kissed Sonny. That’s because these 2 will forever be the love of each other’s lives....period!
this is also why I kinda wish she never returned. Both of her returns in 02-03 and 2011 ruined the storyline and reputation of Brenda. Production should have paid her what she wanted to keep her on in 2003. Then, we could have seen Sonny and Brenda become a powerful mob couple with beautiful children. He doesn't fit with Carly and it sucks that they gave him so many kids with other women!

Sure, he can have some girlfriends and hookups like normal gangsters do, but then when Brenda returns he could always go right back to her with no complications. That's the route they shoulda gone with. If Vanessa didn't want to come back full time they could've just had her be the "girl that got away" and the woman that Sonny drops everything for. Maybe write that their children are in boarding school and Brenda is in europe.

If Brenda (Vanessa Marcil) had stayed in 98, she and Sonny might have eventually gotten back together and married in 1999, he would not have been Michael's father. Carly/AJ/Jason would have to sort their drama without Sonny in the mix (THANKFULLY!!) They would have had kids; a boy and a girl, they would have eventally broken up. then gotten back together, Then Brenda would have "died" because of the mob. Sonny would have had a big breakdown, Brenda would return after almost 1 year. she and Sonny would reunite. They could have had a story with Brenda's dad coming back from the dead involved in dark/mob business and trying to push Brenda and the kids against Sonny. A custody battle over the kids and then Brenda and Sonny would stay some time apart as co-parents/ shared custody and eventually found their way back to each other. LOL So many possibilities if Vanessa Marcil had stayed and if Guza hadn't ruined GH. Oh the possibilities. One can only dream! I do hope Vanessa Marcil returns in 2015.

They had 2 encounters which was when she called the penthouse to talk to Jason and Sonny picked up and never said a word. She knew it was him and went there for closure. They met and said goodbye. The other time was when they saw each other at the Nurses Ball. By this time she was engaged to Jax again. In 1998 Vanessa left GH and Brenda was presumed dead after her mother ran them off a cliff. Vanessa returned in 2002-2003 but Sonny and Brenda never got together until 2010-2011.
I always wondered how she could ever trust him again after her breakdown. I assume distance, maturity, perspective.... and Jax dumped her in 2003. At that point, felt bad for Brenda , all her men betrayed her. This scene is after Sonny had gone to Rome to find Brenda, then when he found out the Balkan was after her, he had Jason bring her back to Port Charles..... maybe that renewed her trust in him.
In the end Brenda got her heart broken by Sonny yet again I'm a Snb fan but enough is enough Brenda deserve to be happy and not wasting her life pinning for the likes of Sonny he's not worth it !! Never thought I would say that but it's true!
