We took Reagan on her first plane ride to California! It was an interesting experience and we learned a lot! Flying with a toddler can go on one of two ways and my biggest tip is just to go with the flow and keep calm.

I've been there for sure!! I have 8 amazing children and learned real quick how to deal with an incredibly over tired child on a plane. My saving grace was snacks!! Every little kind of snack you can think of got put on the tray as well as small toys.
One more thing to consider is her ears. Babies can't pop their ears as easily as we do and the pressure builds up causing pain. I was always told to give them juice or something they really enjoyed when taking off and landing. The swallowing will help tremendously and you'll see a huge difference. I also walked the isle a lot because it was a wonderful distraction with all the different people smiling and talking to my little one as we strolled through the isle.
Don't worry Momma you did all the right things and everyone around you can see what incredible parents you are.
6:39 adorable little spunky baby. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!
Oh I totally understand. My 1 yr old daughter completely missed her nap one day that we were doing a ghost trolly tour with some family. She missed her nap and the tour started at her bedtime 😬. She wasn’t having it, I was mortified, and her dad ended up having to miss the tour and took her back to the truck. Whenever I see moms in moments like that I feel for them, more than anything. They didn’t choose the toddler tantrum...the toddler tantrum is choosing them lol.
When my daughter was 4.5 months old we moved from Puerto Rico to Arizona during the summer. And then we took a 3 hour bus drive from Phoenix to Flagstaff. She was not happy. Now she is 24 years old.
U cud make a goodie bag for ur immediate seat mates on plane with a snack & ear plugs and a note that says "thanks for being kind during the flight with our lil one"..apologies and thank u in advance😊....ur doing great!!
I just went through what you went through with my almost one year old baby girl. We flew to Texas and she was not being herself (since she’s always been a good baby) and the 2 hour difference REALLY hit hard on her. She was non stop crying the first night and wouldn’t go to sleep! She wasn’t even that bad as a newborn lol poor thing. She was fussy throughout most of the trip but on our way back home she did sooo much better and now she’s back to her regular routine/sleeping schedule 😊
I take Tylenol before every flight because my ears hurt. I dosed my kids as well. They were always calm and well behaved and never screamed and cried. My youngest was a 1 year old.
Her little ears may have been hurting, did you give her something to drink after take off? Sometimes that helps. Listen to me, someone that has never had kids. I just live vicariously through you all and other YT families.
Sis I feel your pain! I just traveled with my 18 month old while pregnant, with my husband and he didn’t cry but he yelled on the top of his lungs for the last 30 min of our flights and it was 2 going and 2 coming. He did better the way back but still very stressful and exhausting!
aww definitely it could be her ears bothering and you can always ask your dr they sometimes give them medicine for that or also give her a bottle when the airplane is departing and 15min before landing always helps because swallowing opens up the canal of the ear so it makes it not hurt. There's always a first time.
Will be flying with a 16 month old. Only 1.5hrs. I only chose that flight to get him used to an airplane before we fly across the country when he is 2. I am nervous. BTW Southwest cancelled our original flight so we are taking a flight around the time he normally wakes up in the mornings. That does not include waking him up to drive to the airport and get through TSA.
Very spunky baby but just very cute!!! Hope your next flight is better if not..yes what can you do!!! ☺️😍
I was Blessed with my daughter flying nicely but... I did have the trip from he'll when I drive with her Godfather & his brother from California to Vancouver, Canada in the back seat of a 1980 TRANS AM with an 15month old teething molars... We stopped overnight in Grant's pass Oregon & surprised we didn't get kicked out for a screaming baby all night long and then packed up for the last leg of the trip to Vancouver .... Ugh !!!! I felt your pain & your helplessness 🥺😳😳😳😢
GBY ALL 🙏❤💙💖🤗... 💙🧸🤗✝️
Can’t play craps with baby girl’s naps. 😂😍 Hope your flight home goes better. Love you!!!❤️
We brought our baby, 11 months, on a 5 and a half hour flight to California, luckily he did not cry once but let me tell you he got ALLLLL the screen time that day. 😂 our flight was at 6:30 am so I had to wake him up at 4 am
I watched her like crawl/flee from the scene for like 100 times, soooooo cute~~~~~~~
Also, I’ve read do not check a car seat. They throw it around and it gets ruined …. Just what I’ve read in car seat safety groups online. Just wanted to give you a heads up
My daughter just turned 1 the first week of July. I. Her first year she has been on 6 flights and 2 cross country road trips. 😳🤣. Let me tell you, her first flight was Terrible!!!! It was all new and she didn’t know what to expect. There is light at the end of the tunnel. All the rest of her flights she has been amazing! Even when a flight attendant spilled ice cold water all over her and I while she was sleeping. I always way over pack but I would rather have it and not need it than not have it and need it. I use the same tricks as you, thought engaging toys and a couple of new toys. I also bring all of her favorite snacks. Fingers crossed that your next flight is better! 🤞🤞🤞
Pausing to say you don’t own anyone on those flights apologies! People need to accept that babies/kids may be in their plane and they may cry. It’s so easy for them to bring headphones nowadays. They can get over it! I’m sorry it was rough for you guys, I know my anxiety as a mom would have been high but you did all you could and kids will be kids.
I feel like it would be so much more to have a connecting flight! We just took our 4 month old on his second flight. (Also out of Denver actually). I can't believe it!
I flew with my 4 month old and thankfully I was able to nurse her for the take off and landing, so she slept for about 80% of the time. I’m still nursing but at 13 months now, I don’t think it would be such a smooth flight 🤣😂
But you’re right! You’ll never see these peeps again so survive, get off the plane, and forget about it!!
My daughter and grandson 6 mths old their took there first flight from San Francisco to London with three flight changes.
Part 2; she said it was difficult to keep him on the same schedule. Both mom and dad took turns sleeping and watching the baby. She made good bags for the people in the seat in front and behind them to thank them for understanding. It was a huge thing, the flight attendant wanted a bag, too. So you both did fine. Now my next question is where do you buy the peanut butter puffs from?
People who were annoyed have probably never tried traveling with a kid lol I would urge them try it then keep judging 🤷🏼♀️ I’m sure now that you guys learned what works and doesn’t, the next flight will be much better haha
We’re taking my daughters first flight in like a month. My first as well. I’m extra nervous
This stuff isn't easy. Props to all the parents doing this and not being afraid to travel with their baby. Forget any other passengers who get butthurt, tbh they were miserable anyway!
I got willames syndrom i was born with it oxox Hugs
Please don’t feel bad that she cried and had a rough time! Babies cry. It’s the only way they can really communicate. I’ve been on flights with crying babies or upset children. Not a big deal. I just pop in some headphones or ear plugs. I HATE when other people make a big deal out of kids being kids.
🙏🏼 for a better flight home! My daughter flew at 3 months for the first time so she basically nursed the entire time. My husband was behind me with our boys (2 &4).) The man who sat next to me was literally trying his best to get as close as he could to “watch” me nurse. CREEP! Hubby switched seats with me immediately but had our 2 year old with him. He annoyed the hell out of that pervert for the rest of the flight. All i could think of the whole time was karma Creepy, KARMA! 😡😂
Eww so creepy
how have you been feeling since your pregnancy now that you Orlando missed your second trimester and your flight to how did that
The air pressure changes, especially taking off and landing-also turbulence. Have her suck on a sucker, which makes her swallow, which keeps the air pressure more steady and doesn't hurt her ears. She was probably traumatized, so it may take a few flights before she forgets this one! lol
Maybe u can do a red eye for your next flight and maybe u guys can sleep
Maybe her ears were bothering her as well...I went thru that back in the day, some older lady said maybe it's bothering her ears.. I said yeah maybe
You guys are both warriors because parents traveling with any baby in general, you get the ugly looks and yeah it's hard but it's a normal thing. So kudos for making memories with your baby. Sarah and banner, you guys are doing great. Oh, but I got an idea! Next time you travel have mini kids headphones and have them listen to music or travel with halloween mask on, trust me shes either be weirded out or she will play with you. Safe travels and I'm a fan of you too.♥️
Sarah , I love your little hoop earrings , where did you get them?
Target! They came in a set of three! Here is the link🤗 rstyle.me/+8sXuCYiE0o-ouBVN06z85Q
Great video
It's not good to check car seats when flying. They poorly handle it and it shouldn't be used afterwards.
Dad’s face in the beginning was my husband’s face when we first flew with our baby ! 😂😂😭 He said he does not want to fly with the baby until he’s about 5 but I’m gonna try to talk him into trying again lol
I felt bad for you guys . That must have been tuff . With the jet noise and all the talking I bet most people didn’t hear her or they put headphones on . That’s what I do.
When a baby screams on a flight I just try to be patient and know they can’t help it and the parents is just doing their best as well to pacify the baby.
My ex husband was dam useless. On a flight from London’s to Miami our toddler tipped her drink onto his lap . He said “Ghad damnit! If I had a parachute I wld bail out now “
Hmm 🤔 well I should have found him one .
“it was a shit show “
you know if sarah cusses, it was bad😂
Could it have hurt her ears ?
Omg this is probably going to happen to us in June 😅 We booked the first row, so we don‘t get to see the annoyed faces 🌚
My name is karina oeters i 32 but docter say i really 8
Ears!!!! On the plane. Usually is the issue.
Her ears could have been hurting. I know this may be frowned upon but maybe a lolipop would help.
