Guess I've never put two and two together, I think you're right about big stache Al😅 Most of your videos I watch on the couch or in my room with full concentration. I'll be honest, was working on a saw in my shop while watching the last video and totally missed the potential problem! Mighty fine solution👍🏻
Thanks for the kindness, Tinman. I do appreciate your knowledge and your ability. Thanks for sharing. I can feel it in my bones that I will port a saw someday. Thanks!
Thanks again for all the info Tinman😅 And I got a 046 red lever it has a little porting but seals are trash and piston skirts are shiney so I got a project for $150😊😅😂
Aircraft do commonly use Brass buttons on wrist pin. It absolutely contains the gudgeon pin in the piston. Circlips on yours keeps it out of the ports 😊. I thought immediately about that, if you have lathe, easy fix. The metal that you might have effected is minimal, if you kept it that quick, no way you could ruin the load area. Done deal, let er rip!
A guy might want to ad another plug in the wrist pin on the exhaust side as well to keep the weight a little more balanced. A thought not 100% sure that's even gonna effect it much though. Yeah it being 1 gram difference it might not effect it having that much more weight on one side of the piston
The traditional family is very important. There is nothing better than watching your children play and grow.

Great video cant wait to this saw run, I think it will run great thanks for sharing!
You should wing the boost port to flow the mix to both sides, not over the top of the piston. Compress the depth as you open the width.
Hi Tinnman!😀😀
How did you know that I have a big mustache. LOL!!
But I also have the ZZ top beard to go with it.
Take care buddy!!😀😀
Logger Al
I would have, but SheWhoMustBeObeyed whines and bitches till I trim it 😢
Cause your name is Al? Lol

Great teaching with saws and life! Thank you Sir.
Some fancy work will be interesting to see the final product. 👍👍
The professor at his finest!!!
A boost port most definitely helps. 👌

73 and have had a reasonable mustache since 1968……Randy is the common name but my friends call me Whiskers😮 😊
Lol
Machine a little plug out of aluminum and press it in the pin on the port end
Play the game take the educated chances and build a monster. TC Mahalo Tinman 🤙🤙🤙

put a teflon button in the piston pin. vw guys used to do it.
A six by eight foot bump out would accept a mid sized lathe, but a ten by twelve foot one would get a big un in! Framing buddy, easy peasy 😂
Ya! QD! Canada 🇨🇦 💪
Beauty. Would it be much harder to turn one from scratch? Thats what i was thinking.
That's an option if a guy knew what material and how hard it would need to be to not fail.
Just picked up a Sachs Dolmar 111 today. Winter list lol
Thanks again Mr 👍
I assumed you were going to run a stuffed wrist pin, I've had older saws with stuffed wrist pins and mopeds, I would only cork the exhaust side
Elegant solution
Can’t wait to see this saw running
I got an xl76 and it came with a little red barn piston with a hollow pin. Do you happen to remember if the oem pin is hollow? Thanks in advance.
I can't remember I'll have to check am old video
I looked at some old vids, that model has open ends on the wrist pin
.
@ wow thanks pal! I was looking at some of your 1000 sub days trying to beat you to it.
