@@JoeMurphysGuitarlessons I picked up a guitar for the first time in forever during the start of lockdown. It's been hard-going no lie. However with your teaching i'm now playing one of my favourite songs of all time. My partner also loves the song. When i try and play and sing it to her tonight my version will also include "My love".
Hi @joe , when you say G chord but it's further up the neck what position are your fingers? Does it work in barre chord shape for all F also? Excuse my lack of knowledge, very new, but oldie learner!
@@JoeMurphysGuitarlessons You taught me how to play one of my favorite songs in 5 minutes. i never thought it was so easy. I hope one day you do some Ocean Colour Scene stuff like "Big Star"., simple chords too but i´m having some issues with the strumming and the tabs i´ve seen online somehow seem to sound different. Anyway keep up the good work.
Hey Joe, Apologies, newbie and really enjoying the lesson. Just wondered about the G chord you play, as does not look like the picture..seems different pattern and further up the fret board? Cheers
Steve Bannister all he is doing is playing the F chord on the 3rd fret which is another way of playing a G. The F and G chords played he are basically easier ways of playing bar chords and you get a bit of different sound. Richard Ashcroft plays the F chords like that in a lot of his songs but as for the G chord he would play it as a standard G matey is just trying to make him self look better than he is ( it’s an old trick)
I’m guessing you are just starting out on your guitar journey. It is indeed a G I play in the bridge, however I have chosen to show the open G chord diagram to keep it simple. I just play the G in a half barre position on the 3rd fret, same chord different position ! Hopefully you can understand that ?
You need to get out out of your little room entertaining faceless people..buy a ticket and travel around ..and you will entertain people in rag a muffins bars.and live a life..why ?? your good.
If only it were that simple.. I'm not in a position to just up and go around the world looking for gigs.. I have played professionally over the years, not just in "My little room" The only realistic way of that happening, is if I had a manager who sorted it all out, for a percentage of my earnings and I don't see that happening any time soon. In the meantime, i am trying to build an audience over at Patreon, see link in description, to free up some time from my day job, so I can help the community as a whole with my lessons. Some people are actually earning a living doing this, unfortunately I am not one of them 🙁
All I wanted. Straight up no BS.
Well projected, easy to follow . Appreciate your time, efforts & helpful ways.
Cheers Mate 👍🤙
Exactly the comment I was going to leave. Nice one Joe !

Lyrics:
My friend and me
Looking through her red box of memories
Faded I'm sure
But love seems to stick in her veins you know
Yes, there's love if you want it
Don't sound like no sonnet, my lord
Yes, there's love if you want it
Don't sound like no sonnet, my lord
My lord
Why can't you see
That nature has its way of warning me
Eyes open wide
Looking at the heavens with a tear in my eye
Yes, there's love if you want it
Don't sound like no sonnet, my lord
Yes, there's love if you want it
Don't sound like no sonnet, my lord
My lord
Sinking faster than a boat without a hull
My lord
Dreaming about the day when I can see you there
My side
By my side
Here we go again and my head is gone, my lord
I stop to say hello
'Cause I think you should know, by now
By now
By now
By now
By now
By now
Oh, by now
Oh, by now
Oh, by now
Oh, by now
Oh, by now
Oh, by now
Oh, by now
Oh, by now

In the bridge when the diagram shows G, you are playing something else.
