Great reaction. This is a rarity, it was the first song they recorded entirely in English that does not have an alternate Japanese version. 'From Dusk Till Dawn' was on the international release of the Metal Resistance album (2016) - the Japanese release had 'Syncopation' instead. They had only ever played FDTD one time live - at the Hollywood Palladium in 2017 - before the 10 Budokan 2021 concerts where it finally got two more performances and we finally got this pro-shot video from the DVD to see it performed. When they played it in 2017 it was filmed, but because of some sort of copyright dispute the pro-shot video was never released. All we had to see of that performance were a lot of shaky and not great quality fancam videos (oimatsu おいまつ has done a great job putting the best of those together in a compilation and he has cleaned up and remastered the live audio too). When BABYMETAL held a poll to decide the top 10 songs for their 10th anniversary 'Best Of' album a fan campaign had FDTD voted up as one of those 10. It was actually not included, but we did finally get these 2 more live performances at the Budokan 2021 concerts and the pro-shot video we were craving. Although it is all in English it was never easy to make out the lyrics (especially with no live performance on film) and the lyrics have never been published. All we have are some "best guesses" most of which are probably way off. The (probably) closest guess to date is to be found on the Babymetal Reactor Resource video subtitles.
Nice one, thanks! "FDTD" is considered a rarity for many reasons: style, vocals, language, song's release, live history, etc. Regarding the musical style, this is a rare mix of dream trance with metal. Vocally, the song starts with some of Su-metal's falsetto (not the first time we hear her doing it). But it's even more impressive when she sings those crazy notes in her head voice with full power. Lyrics are fully in English (which is still a rarity now) and they never published them officially (so, the subtitles here may not be accurate). They only released it on the international version of the Metal Resistance album (2016) while the domestic (Japanese) version includes "Syncopation" instead. The song premiered live in 2017 at Hollywood Palladium in LA but they got some issues with the live footage (apparently regarding copyright, which is kinda ironic) and it wasn't performed again until 2021at the Budokan, where this footage is from. Note that BABYMETAL themselves don't take down channels or videos. It's either their record label, an authorized distributor or even some live streaming platform which apparently has the legal right to do it. 🤘🦊
@@WelcomeToDANISHVIKING Yeah, because they put it up on RUclips when L43 was still in movie theaters all over the world. Too bad, because they were an amazing source of good videos for reactors.
Yes, you needed subtitles, but the Foxgod works in mysterious ways, and you pick an all English song 🤣 Love this song. I wish they would do a performance of it with 3 vocals again 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
About the channel that got taken down: it was not official in any way, it's just a fan account. They uploaded the whole movie/Blu-ray of the latest concert which people can go see in the movie theater right now and buy on Blu-ray. Babymetal took it down on all channels on RUclips. Nobody was doing reactions on that latest concert as far as I know.
Nice reaction. Yes, the song is beautiful. I call it a giant diamond presented to the queen. It was written by Yuyoyuppe, he also wrote Monochrome. He has has also written some great songs outside of Babymetal as well. I could recommend some awesome songs written by him for others acts, but you probally won't get many views because even most Babymetal fans won't know the connection. He has written hundreds of songs, and I pretty much have all of them in my YT playlists. It's a shame he isnt more widely know because he's a musical genius. I managed to catch a completely random live stream by him yesterday live chatting (in Japanese) whilst working on a new song (which sounded awesome), and there was only about 40 people watching. He was very chilled and happy.
It helps in places. In paers zhey have s lot of songs, zhat are very fdificult to translate. This does not happen by accident. They try to find materials that are difficult to translate. Andvin this song Su shows her incredible range.
"what's going on?" pretty much nails it. To my knowledge this is the only BM song where we get no official lyric sheet. Partly due to the distorted way Su sings, people can not really agree what the actual lyrics are at some points. I therefore listen to it more as a piece of acoustic art of stunning beauty. Sadly, this was only performed very rarely For the Fox Gods end is a bummer for us overseas fans, but he clearly overplayed his cards. Jeg haaber at du er kommet godt ind i 2025. Hilsen fra Ruhrdistrictet!
Nice job👊🏽⚡️A beautiful song performed to perfection🦊🤘🏾
Love this song, absolutely beautiful. I totally thought it was a synth/keyboard at first...until I realized it was Su's vocals lol. Blew me away! 🤘🦊
😊
I love Su metal sound❤️
