Yeah you should check everything when you plan to go and nearby sites also like Đerdap boat sightseeing tour to see Tabula Traiana and king Decebalus in rocks of Carpathian mts. like Argonaths in LOTR but only face, Silver lake nearby, Roman site of Viminacium, Lepenski Vir neolit archeological site, monastery Tumane for health and safety...
Yes I am learning that there was a lot near there to see and do. The trouble is that we were with my in-laws and they are older and can’t do as much as we can. But next time we plan to see all of what we missed 😅
Many people visit museums (and a fortress is a museum) during the weekends, so museums are closed on Mondays. This rule applies to almost the entire world. Some choose a different day, like the Louvre, which is closed on Tuesdays.
In Canada museums and most attractions are open 7 days a week. Same in Egypt. Same in UAE. So I wouldn’t say that this rule applies to the whole world. Given that people who travel and visit these places are often coming from other countries, they aren’t necessarily coming specifically on a weekend, which is why many places are open daily. Either way, I learned my lesson to double check before going.
I don't have to convince you of anything. You can easily check the information online. Museums need one day to organize and clean the museum or update collections. I believe some work 24/7, but that's not the rule.
You had an alternative though and visit Tumane monastery, a little town of Veliko Gradishte and Srebrno Yezero (silver lake). Nevertheless it is a shame Golubats is not open in Mondays, at least in the summer.
Me too. I tried looking it up but can’t find any information on the structure that’s on the cliff. Looks interesting. If anyone knows I hope they comment.
@@gamal-salem Some say they are abandoned mining facilities. I emailed the Golubac visitor centre asking if they had any information or history, but no response.
A loooot of museums, all around the world are closed on Monday (because they are open on weekend) and it's the same with restaurants. Anyway, you should always check the working hours and plan your visits.
I lived in Canada for 12 years, as well as UAE and Egypt and all 3 counties have museums and attractions open 7 days a week so it would not be obvious to me that it would be closed on a Monday. Many people were also there on the same day, other tourists, so clearly the Monday rule is not know by everyone. I also said in my video many times that I should have checked lol people do make mistakes.
@@gamal-salem it was a bummer but I hope you'll have an opportunity to visit the location again. It's very interesting. On the same drive from Belgrade, there is also one in Smederevo. And on the Romanian side there is a huge head carved in the mountain across the Dunabe river that you can see from the road that you took. I wish you a nice time exploring historic locations in Serbia and thank you for showing the interests in our history. I have only had great experiences with people from Egypt.
@@plagosusthank you so much 🙏🏽 I really love Serbia and hope to see more when I return. Thanks for the tip about Smederevo! I still have more content to post about Serbia but will also start show a bit about Egypt as well afterwards so I hope you stay tuned 😊

that video was amazing ,two hours drive for djevrek :P and amazing view :) life if good , have a great day guys :)
😅 we try to have fun no matter what. My father-in-law wasn’t too impressed though lol 😂 Thanks for watching!
Viminacium. It's on Danube, pretty near Golubac.
This place beats all sites in an area.
I wish I knew this before lol Hopefully I will go back and will try to see this site as well.
And Silver lake, Ram fortres, Lepenski Vir, Đerdap gorge and national park, Iron Gate...
@@janakolasinac1686 thank you!

@@BelgradeArch hopefully I get to go back next year and see more. It seems like a nice place.
You could visit silver lake while you there also you have another fortress in that area call Ram fortress
I have to keep this in mind for next time. Thank you!
You could go see it from the river. Small boats make tours every day (even on Mondays) from Golubac town to fortress. Quite nice.
Oh man. I really feel like I missed out lol we need a tour guide next time or something! Thanks for the info.
I want to know more about those more modern constructions in the cliff (eg 7m06).

Very interesting. If you find anything out please share. It looks so strange that structure on the cliff.
