What makes you think this video was catered to you? 😂 Look, When I switched from international travel vlogs, originally, to making vlogs in Atlanta, I would get similar comments and pushback. I ignored them all and eventually all of the comments changed to positive ones. It’s called a learning curve. It happens whenever a channel has a change of content. Soon comments like yours won’t even exist anymore because the more I make Dominican hood vlogs, the more Dominicans and Spanish speaking folks will tune in. There will be so many comments from people who enjoy the content that comments like yours will simply stop. Give it 3 months. Mark my worlds 😂

Well, in 2020, you were one of the leaders of this category (edgy travel vlogs). You were a bit innovative with your impromptu visits and interactions with "barrio gente". You showcased a surprising warmth and welcoming nature to the people in these disreputable communities which were broad-stroked as "no go zones".
In some ways, your approach was similar to Capricornio (hunting for tiguerres), but in other ways, your approach was a nice divergent in that you ventured into those barrios as a true "lost gringo outsider", which normally piqued the curiosity of gente you encountered. And your innocence and charm worked! For the connections you made were genuine! You were the ultimate "lost gringo" looking to connect with the Dominican people. This is what pushed you to the top of the category in 2020/2021.
Of course, post-pandemic there has been an explosion of people trying to do similar or the exact same content. But please know that Miko's content of being a "curious gringo" deep in the barrios of DR or favelas of Brazil chattin w/ regular people would still be a hit. Much bigger hit (IMO) than all these clichéd aspiring (often delinquent) rappers trying too hard to look cool. Instead, consider a regular boy who's a mechanic or street vendor working hard everyday, trying to make it. You can hit up some small towns in the countryside where local boys can take you to beautiful waterfalls or even the bateys where Haitians are grinding in sugar cane fields nearby the local breweries or rum distilleries.

I lived in Los Minas as a missionary for my church. The one area I had the hardest time understanding their Spanish. Moved to La Romana and poof...I could understand everything. Looks like they took out the favela down by the river. A shame...good people down there.
