How come with the mini implants snap ins you don't have to wait to use them like the regular sized implants where you have to wait months before yo can use them as snap ins?
You will still have to wait a period of time for the minis in order to integrate with the jaw bone! Everyone's timeline may be slightly different. Thanks for the comment!
@@askdocjoc9861 so in other words the mini's are not buried under the the gums and then revealed months later, it's just you can't use them as snap ins until they they integrate
@@megahipsmegahips731 Yep! There are circumstances that practitioners will snap a denture down immediately on the mini implants, however, it is my philosophy that it is safer for health and proper healing of the implant to wait until osseointegration has occurred!
does anyone write here what is actual cost average + -- , or approximately . every one in 100s videos talks about same things and differences but no one about most important thing affordability and price. it doesn't have to be i dollar exactly 2000 more or less .
i just got quoted $29,000 for upper and lower snaps; includes bone grafting, temp set of reg dentures and permanent ones. Also my extractions, this was the total cost. Going on Tuesday to make the appt. after much research on both. My decision came down to having someone very close in case of any emergency. half hr drive. I need that for assurance.
I have 5 minis uptop and 4 bottom how do I get traditional implants for fixed denture? Do the remove and replace or can they add and work around the minis?
I just got implants for my snap on dentures, but they do not stay snaped on! Especially the bottom ones. I can knock them out with my tongue, which I'm terrified about if I'm talking or heaven forbid kissing someone, and they pop out. Why is this happening, and how to fix it? I have 6 implants on my bottom arch. The attachment is gold and kind of pyramid shaped and has a little Ridge indent around near the tip and the device has those rubber rings in it. Os there a better shaped attachment I can use to anchor the device in better with? Ty
Hey Marguerite! You can but there's not a lot of indications for that. One may be if you have enough bone for standard implants in one area, but only enough bone for minis in other areas. However at that point it may make more sense to just do all minis. Thanks for asking!
Any advice on how to stop sucking on dentures? I can't stop, but it's so uncomfortable to do. 😫 Also, my jaw aches when I have them in. I haven't worn dentures in 4 years, so I'm assuming my jaw is misaligned, perhaps? Is there a way to ease that pain/help realign my jaw?
What is the success rate of placing mini dental implants? What is the life span of mini dental implants? If the bone rejects the mini implant is there infection?
Kat! Thanks for your comment. So the research is limited about the long term success rate of mini dental implants because they have only been used as a long term treatment option for about a decade (where as standard dental implants have been used a lot longer and thus more research with regards to success has been done). Before that they were used as "temporary" implants while the standard implants were healing and were removed after healing, but what they found is often the "Temporary" mini implants were healing with the bone just as well as the standard. There are some studies that have shown success rates for minis in lower jaw above 90% or higher! It tends to be the case that many for failures, as is the case with standard size implants, in the upper jaw. This typically is attributed to the poor/soft bone quality seen in the upper jaw, and this issue is even harder to deal with when you're using a very small implant (harder to get great stability because less surface area in contact with bone). As is the case with both standard and mini dental implants, we can't know the exact life span as it is different from patient to patient. One person may have their implants for over 15 years, while another person may end up losing them at 5 years. There is no way to predict this. The best that can be done is properly care for them both professionally and at home to help increase the chance of longevity! When an implant fails (both standard and mini), or if bone "rejects" implant, it is possible there is an infection, but also possible that the implant failed to "osseointegrate" with the bone. These situations have to be properly examined by your dental provider. Thanks for your question!
Hi doc. I have a quick question. In 2019 I had 12 mini dental implants placed. (6 top & 4 bottom) I have the snap on kind with horseshoe style on top. I hate them!! I can't wear the bottom, they don't fit right & I have 1 top implant on top left that barely shows & hurts so bad when I snap the top denture onto it. It is possible for me to get only the teeth type & not what I have? I think they may be called a bridge? I think they may be more comfortable & I would wear them all the time instead of just when I go out to the store, Dr. etc. I only wear top ones. Can you please let me know if this is possible? Thanks in advance. Becky
Hello! I have been struggling with my mouth since I was a little girl due to health reasons. I wanted to know if I am able to get a mini partial snap on to secure my mouth on the back? The dentist i go to now told me that on order to get implants I need a sinus lift and that seem like a lot of work! Can you please help me in what options are available, I haven't smiled in many years in public. If I find the right dentist I know that I can have a decent smile back
Hello my name is Savannah I’m 33 Years Old Way too young to have to worry about dentures are used drugs about 11 years ago for about 3 Years of my life but I’ve been clean for 11 years now. When I got clean my teeth were in great shape but for some odd reason as years went on my teeth are falling apart someone told me it was probably because of my Gingivitis but I don’t know. Getting traditional regular dentures really scares me don’t want to have to worry about them falling on my mouth that’s for sure but when I heard about snap on dentures that’s something that I really want to do. I’m just scared and my teeth need to be fixed really bad I would go with clear choice implants but that’s like $50,000 or something and I cannot afford that. What would the cost be an estimated range for snap on dentures because I really need to start getting my teeth fixed ASAP I should’ve probably done this five or six years ago but I didn’t.
Hi Savannah. I just saw this post. I got mini dental implants in 2019. 6 on top & 4 on bottom. I have the snap in style with horseshoe top ones. My total cost was $10,000. $800 per mini implant, coming to $3200, but my dentist threw in 2 free ones on top. The dentures were over $2000 per denture & they are crap! I had 2 bottom wisdom teeth removed before any of this was done, otherwise it would've been cheaper. I now wish I would've gotten just the teeth style instead of the denture style. The bottom don't fit right & they have been remade 3 times now! I don't wear the bottom ones at all. I only wear the top when I go somewhere, otherwise here at home I don't wear at all. I have 1 implants on top on left side that you can barely see, why I have no idea, & it hurts like hell when I snap my denture in place cuz of it. Do plenty of research h before getting these. I used to wear regular dentures with fixodent to hold them in. I got dentures in 1997 for the first time. I was only 32. Good luck & I hope I helped you a little.
Thanks...
Thank you for the clarification

There's actually something called the fix on 6 which is a hybrid bridge for mini implants.
Thanks for the comment Jake! I have heard of that and know of dentists who do it. I personally do not do this treatment for certain reasons.

You need 34 more mini implants placed and have fix bridge no need to removed the existing…mini dental implants can support fix appliances
If you are in USA call Ted Shatkin in Buffalo NY
Does mini last life time if eat only soft food.

Thank you kindly!
Can you do a combination regular and mini on the lower jaw

Correction, I have 8 minis on top, not 6.
