Always moisten the air in the microwave before popping any popcorn in the microwave, really makes a difference in the popcorn:
I set a coffee mug in the microwave with 1/3 cup and heat for two minutes, then pop the popcorn. Makes a world of difference!

  • @strivingformindfulness2356
    @strivingformindfulness2356 3 года назад +6

I was given one of these (1.5 quart), and it works ok. After doing a couple of batches as per instructions, I decided to melt some butter in the microwave, in a small bowl, with some water in a separate small bowl, so it melts but doesn't splatter. This also serves to "preheat" the microwave (an old microwave popcorn tip). I put the popcorn in for 3 minutes, and the popping stops at about 2.5 minutes. Most kennels popped, but making popcorn on the stove top with a 5-quart Dutch oven is more effective (keep it moving!!) for more kernels popped. Nice for portion control, if one makes and eats only one batch in this microwave device.
Side note: when I was buying my most recent bag of popcorn kernels, a mid-to-late 20s woman asked me how to make this kind of popcorn; she'd only ever had the folded-bag microwave popcorn at home! I don't believe this is universal, but I weep to think that the majority of an entire generation might've reached adulthood, with the only at-home popcorn they know comes out of the folded-bag microwave variety! It's convenient for sure, and also not very healthy. (Nor is that flavo-col, or whatever the name of the movie theater style "butter;" that 💩 ain't meant for human consumption, in my opinion. Nasty taste, nasty rush to the bathroom after three handfuls of popcorn with that 💩on it! 🤢😖)

I'll tell ya, I have one and my Granddaughter has one. She luves hers, and I dont like mine. Her popcorn turns out great and mine is badly burnt. This thing is so stinkin cute too!!! I have the yellow, and she has the red. I got the yellow to go with my yellow Sun Tea container. Too many seeds uncooked, and smoke billows out. The popper was too hot to touch.Took 5 mins to cool down. The only thing that I dont like about the design is, the handle. I think it would look better and feel better with a chunkier handle. A good 1-2" thick.
I am going to try working with it a couple more times. If no improvement, it will make a cute flower pot, and use the lid for opening stuff.
Thank you for sharing your video!

On 5th batch, each time trying it a little different but they all burn. So sick of trying to eat burned popcorn. The glass orb is pretty but an unfortunate failure. Too much heat builds up in the center so it burns at core. Sad. Back to pot method.

CLUE to the BEST Pop Corn made in this popper:
    Follow suggestion below.
    1. Pour Extra Virgin Oil to cover bottom of popper, heat for 30 seconds to 1 minute depending on the power of your microwave.
    2. Follow directions as per measuring popcorn and putting butter on top.
    3. Place in microwave and add 5 Minutes... stand close first time to know when to shut off
    4. When popcorn pops and there's an interval of 2 sec. between pops, popcorn is popped.
    Perfect! Fluffy & delicious!

Bought it, used as directed, did not like results..!! May use in a pinch, but doubtful.! I will try my way of popping corn next.! Add ghee, which contains no water, thus no soggy corn, just enough to cover the corn about half way when its in a single layer on the bottom....that will take care of any butter mess in or on the microwave.! Next add preferred seasonings to the ghee and corn, and then start popping.! In your use, I heard like what sounded like a lot of unpopular corn when you shook it, hopefully, this method will eliminate any butter accumulation in the MW..!! I will repost soon with my results, good or bad...till then try at your own risk..!!

I just use my fry pan with a bit of olive oil or coconut oil.
Med high heat. When 1st pops pop the lid and shake n shuffle it jiffy pop style..when done poppin pour into bowl and use residual heat on pan to melt butter. Even better when slighlty browned butter.
      ...movie popcorn..enjoy🍿

Those bags are riddled with chemicals that were designed for the purposes of being very nearly indestructible, thus once they've entered your body, they tend to not leave. Evidence of this are the estimated 99% of human beings within the USA with PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid, or "C8") in their systems.
      Anyway, enjoy your bagged deathcorn!

I own this thing, it burns my popcorn every single time. You can either pop it too short time so you've got a bunch of unpopped kernels left over, or any longer and you've got burned popcorn. There's NO happy medium with this thing. I advise not purchasing this, and instead getting the silicone rubber folding bowl thing with the clear silicone lid that you put in the microwave, those work way way way better.
