- (PLEASE READ TO THE END!) Highlight reel from the morning runs of the 2020 Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum's Diesel Days. It was supposed to be on a Saturday and Sunday, but severe weather postponed the Saturday show to a sunny and nice Sunday morning. The Sunday PM show stayed more or less on schedule. The Budd RDC did not run in the PM show.. Thanks to all for the updates on the GP-30/GP-40 mistake. AS you have no doubt read, MANY have already pointed this out but its not worth taking the video down to fix so thank you but no longer neccesary to comment that i mixed up the geeps. All comments made after 930am EST to that effect will be deleted and blocked.
I love how the Western Maryland Railroad had dual facing P5 horns on their F units
The horns are Nathan m5 . And one set on engineer side face forward. The horn on fireman side face rearward.
The guy who got off 8905 at running speed engaged in risky behavior that is not allowed on most railroads today. Otherwise, great video.
Then he is caught throwing a water bottle into the woods. Nice....kind of neighbor I would like to have.
@@robertg.9964 Calm down Greta, or did he dash your hopes and dreams?
It’s great they used 7100 again. Haven’t seen them use it until now. Nice footage!
Those Budd cars brought back some memories. Use to commute on them from DC to Martinsburg.
Fun fact: we here in Oregon have 2 sets of Budd RDCs running on TriMet WES Commuter Rail service as contingent fleet. One set came from Alaska, and the other(currently sitting in the Wilsonville yard) came from Trinity Railway Express.
Woah look at 236! Can’t believe it’s operable!
It’s an EMD of course it works
I remember seeing the Budd's running through Hazelwood towards downtown Pittsburgh.
The Port Authority had this crazy idea about commuters driving to McKeesport and taking a train to Pittsburgh and they ran it for years. Can't tell you what happened to them. It's been many years since the train station was torn down and the right of way repurposed as a bike trail.
Thoughts:
That SW-7 looks brand-new.
Great M-10 on the WM F7! (M-10 is two M-5's at once)
That GP38 looks all the better with the Ches-C and ditchlights!
7100 is one sharp engine!
That GP7's S5T is one of the best I've ever heard!
9913 was done JIT. (Just In Time.) However that's one nice silver RDC!
6944... No words, that awesome
10/10
Did you notice the litter being tossed off of the walkway of the Conrail SW-7 into the weeds? That is so railroader.
That area already has so much litter. That was a real bad move.
@@BSPIVEY100 When my father ran locomotives on the B&O water was provided in a large glass cooler and drank using cone shaped cups that held about six ounces. Common practice was fill, drink, toss out window.

I had to stop and watch this video , The B&O is my favorite Railroad And America's very first Railroad . I used to ride the BUDD cars from Downtown Pittsburgh to Mckeesport in the 70's & 80's
The narrator skipped over 8905 was also Penn Central.
could have disappeared in editing, not sure,,
I don't think it was ever painted in PC though.
was there Sunday. RDC didnt make a run and the WM F7 died in front of the crowd. Was a nice show all the same
I'm a train and I approve this video!!!
Gp30 not 40.
Neat collection none the less!
Sorry was going off what I could recal. I love the B&O and am glad they are doing more shows like this.
@@joelbiallas2520 The GP-30s are getting to be even more scarce than the older GP-7 & 9. I'm glad they've preserved this one operational.
I don't know if you realized but B&O 6944 is a GP30 not GP40 as you listed. Love this video! Great work and thank you for sharing
yeah sorry,, misremembered lol
04:33 That Locomotive is the MARC F7A.
6944 is a GP30
That RDC looks pitiful smoking as it did. The maintenance should have included work on the prime movers.
they JUST got it running that morning and it was broken by late afternoon,,
Glad that you were there - just wish your shots were less shaky..
That's a GP 30, not a 40.
Awesome video
That 1st western Maryland was adorable! How does a person learn when to show up for these shows?
Go on the museums FB page and sign up for notifications. They hope to have similar events in 2021 so now is the time to sign up.
Where is this museum located?
Baltimore Maryland. The birthplace of American passenger rail
**GP30 not GP40**
All Athearn locomotives running.
Why was that guy jumping on & off the engines? Good way to get a broken leg! All he accomplished was to spoil someones pictures.
Tourist railway with volunteers.
Hey Jumbo, you gonna go volunteer and show these guys how its done? If not, toddle along please....
