I love this incredible Wickett and Craig old world harness leather. It makes superb belts, regular or cartridge.
This is a ranger style cartridge belt. (Identified by the billet and chape sewn and riveted over the body of the belt.) A very traditional style that came into being with the development of brass cartridges for firearms.
Very nice! Three Agar France videos in less than a week. Awesome!
Mr France does such a beautiful job and the designs are out of this world. Thank you for your time.
Watching a Master at Work !!! A real show piece as always.
Very nice!
Beautiful work !
Pretty cool
Love your videos
Very nice looking belt. Do you use a specific pattern?
Cool video. Just please find some music to cover all the heavy breathing
For real.
Very nice work, thank you for sharing. If I may ask, how wide is the base piece of leather that the two billets and bullet slots are attached to. The buckle billet and hole billet look to be 2" wide, which would suggest that the wider belt they are attached to would be maybe 3.5-4 inches wide. Thanks again. I learn from these type of videos so I appreciate you sharing your skills on video.
The main belt is 2.5 inches wide and the billets are 1.5
Какой внутренний размер пряжки?
Where did you get that picking iron and which model skiver is that? Both are a lot better than mine and I’m looking to upgrade. Thank you in advance .
The pricking iron is Vergez Blanchard, I think they can still be purchased at Rocky Mountain Leather. rmleathersupply.com and I'm not sure which skiver you're talking about...is it the splitter you mean?
@@agarfrance9272 Thank you for the response. Yes I mean the splitter. Sorry for the confusion.
The splitter is a CS Osborne #84 splitter, they’re a nice piece of kit but they’ve become fairly pricey, you could expect to pay around $1000.00 or more.
@@agarfrance9272 Thank you. I'll look into them. I live in Germany so everything is expensive in this hobby.
OMG I wish I could be half as good as you .❤
As usual , great video. @2:24 what is that clear liquid? Leather hardener? Water?
Neatsfoot oil

👌👌😍😍👌
Yes 👍👍 Very Fine Work Of This Belt With Cartridge Rack. WELL DONE 👏👏👍👍😃😃
I was wondering about the rivets...you placed the billet rivets before you did the lining, but the cartridge strap rivets after the lining. Is there a reason why you went in that order? Beautiful work, by the way, but you probably get that a lot! Working on a cavalry draw ranger style belt and holster myself, love watching your work for inspiration!
Thank you for these videos! You teach so well without saying a word.
But you could perhaps explain what you are doing and why if you used a few words. Information on your choice of leather, the weight used, your edge finishing products etc would be useful rather than just your breathing.
@@andrewgray9663 Sometimes that information is listed with the video, and he always puts his email address for questions.
Outstanding as always 👏 👌 👍
Beautiful as always! What did you put inside those weights you made? I need some for my shop but I don't what dense substance I should use.
It's lead shot
@@agarfrance9272 thx!
