    No matter how tough some of his lyrics are sometimes, I'm convinced that he's an introverted artist at heart.

    I think Nas was just caught off guard with her question to him about that verse. He was there speaking about how rappers are not just a bunch of rhyming street thugs and that actually have mind and vision for creativity. Her question was in total opposition to the vibe and level he was on at that time and place. Nas is a living legend and still one of the best lyrical Mc's to bless the mic.. peace.

  • @downtoearthx9393

    Nas respects Kendrick. Kendrick also referenced Nas, Andre 3000, and Eminem as the best rappers alive in his verse in Control. Kendrick has referenced Nas several times as one of his hugest inspirations. In all honesty though. I feel like Kendrick Lamar is amazing and will have a bigger impact than 2pac before his death. Good Kid Mad City is the best rap album I've heard since T.I.- Trap Muzik.

    Nas doesn't need to do anything, he's shown, he's proved, he's asserted his mark in not just hip hop, but in history. No matter how many generations pass, the new kids need to know this. Too many kids basing hip hop off of today's amalgamation of sound. Base it off Nas, he wrote the damn guide.

    Maybe not the best verse from him, but one i could think of is his verse on "B-Boyz" (which he randomly wrote on a day when Birdman called or something). And the best line from it is: "Die in a lake with a date with a catfish back flip head first smilin'. When fish die, they turn over with its back to the water and stomach to the sky. Kendrick calls this a ‘backflip’. And seeing as how a catfishes mouth is in the shape of a frown, if it was dead upside down it would be smiling, technical enough?

  • @CloudTribe
    @CloudTribe 10 лет назад +34

    Nas is like 40 and considered one of the greatest hip hop artists of all time he doesn't give a fuck what kendrick said. He's not about to lip some kid whose half his age unlike fuck gay-z and pfaggit diddy who are so insecure about anyone threatening their status. Don't get me wrong kendrick ill and is something hip hop hasn't seen in a long time but kendrick would need another 3-5 albums to be even allowed to be in the same league as nas.

    Out of all of these younger set of rappers, you're saying that Kendrick doesn't have skills? The reason why Kendrick Lamar does have success is because of the fact that Kendrick Lamar can and does rap about almost anything, when other industry rappers seem to be one dimensional. Pac could do the same exact thing. I think that's what Kendrick meant by saying he was Pac's offspring and the King of NY, and because Pac was raised in NY. It wasn't meant to be taken personal, just friendly competition

    I notice it's common interview etiquette among rappers when asked about whatever popular diss that's trending , even if their clearly rubbed the wrong way it's something that was said by that diss, to play it down like their collected & unbothered but you always end up being able to like physically see that they feel some type of way .

    Nas is playing chest right now in this interview he is smart. First he's going to get that Hennessy Money in the bank account. Then when he puts his album together which will be highly anticipated since Jay-Z hasn't addressed Kendricks East Coast & West Coast Dominance. Now Nas is in the position that he was in when Illmatic & Stillmatic came out. He will hold on to his East Coast Queens Bridges Finest Crown. You know he will address this on his album i'm waiting patiently! Stellar Art!

    the difference between kendrick and nas is simple; one came out in an era with the greatest hip hop artists and made a legendary album without a legend on it... the other came out when the rap game was at its all time low and made a good album with legend(s) on it. Nas had that attitude and had concepts, cockiness, and was god gifted lyrically, you can't even put kendrick on his level.. thats why i said nas would put lil boy to rest. New York hip hop> the rest and im from Vancouver Canada.

    Anyone who thinks Nas didn't destroy Jay needs to do their research... And anybody who compares Kendrick to Nas needs to stop listening to hip hop, we all know the score if Nas went there, it'd be over for Kendrick. Nas is a guy whose first album will always be the best platform for every rapper, this is a guy who made Rewind, Black Girl Lost, I Gave You Power, Ether, UBR and Life is Good which was album of the year in 2012. You can look in Nas' eyes and see he was holding back. There was a time where if an MC said he was King of New York, every MC would step up and battle him for the crown. I'm guessing the industry cats are keeping dudes from stepping up and challenging Kendrick. Either that, or the vets that stepped up in the past are getting bored. Either way, I really did expect Nas to say more, being one of the illest MC's the 5 boroughs produced.
