The dragons are fantastic. It does get frustrating when the pattern does not go as expected. Your perseverance will get you the results you are looking for. Thanks for doing the footwork for us and the review. It helps a lot.
Thank you!🥰
That black speckled dragon is just adorable! The eyes look perfect too.
Thank you!
Robin, thank you so much for testing my Frankie the frog!❤️❤️❤️ you are amazing as usual!
You are so welcome!
I am a big fan of the serpentine stitch. Looks same on front and back. Can't straight stitch binding to save my life😂
Cute plushies, as always! When I have to work as I go bobble stitches, I wait till the dino, etc., is finished and go back and add the bobbles by slip stitch, bobble, and fasten off. I agree the dragon is adorable.
That is a great idea, I'm going to try that on the next one. Sure would beat doing all that math 😂
@@KnottingHookCrochet 😆
That’s also what I do. Much less headaches lol
Oh, I’m going to go see if I can find a tutorial for adding the bobbles afterward!! Great idea!
Love that black dragon. I need to try that pattern.
When you do, be patient with the bobbles!
I think I’ll stay away from that dragon pattern. I would have the issue you’ve had and totally give up. Bravo for you keeping to try to figure it out. Did she have this tested? On the mermaid, is the hair crocheted on or is it a cap and you sew it on? Love the bee and the frog is cute and a great idea. Would be great for a gift card holder! 🦋💖
I had 3 different people comment that they were testers and how good of a pattern it was.the mermaid hair is a cap. I didn’t even think of gift card holder that is a great idea 💡
Hi, I get so much inspiration from watching your vids. Thank you. I loved the crab (it's quick and easy) and encountered row 6 where the error is. So, at the end of row 6 we are told to (sc, in next 4 stitches, inc )x3 simply make that 5 stitches and it comes out at 36 st. of course one could just go the extra 3 st to get the count. Love the dragons also, that may be the pattern I'm poking for. Thanks again!
Wonderful!
love the dragons!!!
Thank you!
I was having the same issue with the dragon! Every time I had to attach the parts or make the spikes, I was way off! Glad I'm not the only one 😅
I’m sorry you had issues with the pattern but at the same time it makes me feel better knowing I’m not alone!😂
The bee is the cutest ever that I’ve seen! I have an order for a bee right now that I just bought a pattern for. Now I’ll have to get this pattern too! I love the black and blue dragon. Tension makes a huge difference with patterns. I give you credit for your perseverance. You take this phrase seriously. If you first don’t succeed, try try again!
It's just one of those patterns that I really want to work for me. I hope they sell!!😂
*excited* Another Knotting video!
Hope you enjoyed it!
I bought the Dragon pattern, And a bunch of Madelines lol, I will be trying out the crab too.
I love your videos!
You give detailed reviews of your experience with the patterns, which allows me to choose to try them or not to try them based on my own crochet level. You are more advanced than me so some I may try after I get more experience in crocheting.
Thank you for all the videos!
Have a super blessed weekend!
Yay! Thank you! That crab is so cute, don't forget about round 6
@@KnottingHookCrochet
I took notes on your reviews on the crab and the dragon patterns. 😁
Everything is so cute. Thanks for sharing! Have a great weekend! 🙂😘🧶❤
Thank you! You too!
When I saw you tried some new patterns i was rlly hoping u tried Gennas! It seemed very up your alley. It turned out rlly cute
I made another one last night completely different😊
The eyes on the black one are cute. Great choice. Love the dragon.😊
Thank you! I thought they looked good too!
Love the black dragon 🐉 the eyes are perfect 🥰 your color combinations are spot on 😊
Thanks Vicki! 🥰
I love the crab, the dragons my favourite is the first two. Thank u.
Thanks!
Ithink the bigger eyes are perfect! Great choice! i really love the crab. He's adorable.
Thank you 🤗
🐝🐝🐝You are one of the busiest bees I know!!! 🐝🐝🐝 I think that might be the cutest crab pattern I’ve seen, love all your makes, will be listening out to hear what you work out with the dragon pattern. Have a wonderful weekend Robin! 😊💕 edit: added bees 😄
I try to bee busy 🥰🐝I think that crab is so cute and easy! The wheels are turning on that dragon😂
The dragons are so cute. The eyes are perfect on the black dragon. You are great company while i crochet and knit. 😊
Thank you!!
Love the eyes on the black dragon.
Thank you!
Keep trying the dragon. I made one and it came out on the first try! Not off at all on mine.
I’m curious are you yarn under or over? What yarn did you use? Hook size? Please and thank you!😊
I love them all!! But that black dragon sure stands out with those colors🤩 now im curious how the 5th time will work! Lol.
I didn't want to count so I am trying something completely different with it. Not sure yet how it will look when finished but so far it's going good!
I love the color combos you used for the Dragon! I purchased that Bee pattern right away! Can't wait to make that one
That bee is a cutie 🥰
Love your dragons! The eyes are not too big! Love the bee too! The others are cute too, but those are my favorites.
Thanks so much 😊don't tell anyone, but mine too!
They all look so cute great job
Thanks!😊
The colors are nice on the dragons and the 15mm eyes look good 😊
Thanks Chelsea!🥰
The black dragon is my fave, eyes look perfect!
Thanks! I really like that one too.
The dragons are super cute. 😍 I haven’t bought the yet but this is good to know in advance!
They are super cute when completed!
I love your videos! You do such beautiful work. ❤❤. The dragons are fantastic!
Thank you so much!🥰
Love the bigger eyes on the dragon!
Thank you!
I've also been working on the new dragon but only up to the wings. It's nice seeing the pattern made up and although I like all 3, I really like the black pom pom but I only have one skein and it is designated to my boho small turtles so I'll have to check my yarn stash for the next one (this first one for me has to be Pink)
That was the first time I used the black Pom Pom and it’s so much easier to work with than regular black
The dragons are so cute! I know Genna uses a size H hook with Premier parfait if that helps.
I hope you will share how you make the spade ♠️ tip or point me where I can find the instructions 🙏.
i love the black dragon and the eyes are fine.
Thanks!🥰
I also bought Gennas dragon pattern yesterday and made 2 of them. Mine look smaller than yours. I used parfait chunky yarn and didn’t have much problems with the pattern. I did adjust where the back bobble stitches went for the spikes. I also tack down my wings some so they didn’t flop around. Love your bee!
Good to know you didn't have many issues, I'll keep trying because I do really like the end result! I used parfait chunky on 2 of them and the first one was Toucan. I think I'm going to try a different wing, not sure yet. I think this pattern has so much potential!
I always tend to use bigger eyes then the pattern calls for. I love the big eyes... 👀👀
Love the bee, so cute. I'm a huge MMC pattern fan!
Thank you! 😊
Love your videos ! I purchased the dragon pattern and so happy I watched this video first so I know what I might be getting myself into lol 😊
Go into it open minded it could just be me but maybe not. It’s so darn cute and I’m going to figure out how to make it work for me 😂
I prefer the bigger eyes actually!
I think I do too the splash of color gives it more character!
So crazy, everyone’s tension is so different! I crocheted 2 of her dragons with 2 weights of yarn and was stunned that I didn’t have to adjust a thing. Maybe she and I have the same tension 😂 the wings were a bit tricky for me too but I figured it out eventually
Do you consider your tension loose or tight?
Such a cute bee. Love the cow. I love cows. I thought you might be here today. Love your videos
Thanks! How did you know?😂
@@KnottingHookCrochet it had been a few days and it’s Friday Lolol!
I always struggle with placing bobbles or arms/legs because I have naturally tight tension! So I’ve started just eyeballing where things go because they never match what the pattern says😅 All the dragons are adorable !!❤
If tension is consistent throughout your project you wouldn't think it would make a difference.🤷♀️
Love the dragons, the colors you picked are amazing 🤩 and eyes are perfect. Thanks for sharing I didn't get to buy Genna's dragon pattern yet
Thank you! 🤗
I did the same Genna pattern and had the SAME problem. I just figured it was me and made adjustments
I think there are a lot of just mes out there😂
The dragon is adorable.
Thanks!
Dragons are sooo cute love the first one
Thanks Helen!🥰
None of my bobbles or attachments lined up. Im using bernat blanket with an 8mm hook. I have very tight tension as well.
Can tension really make that big of a difference? I'm seriously going to try it with yarn over and a different hook and see what happens.
I love your bee. The arms are not too long.
I thought maybe it was just me with the arms.
Crazily enough, I only had to adjust my stitches in one round of Genna's dragon! And I almost always have to adjust in everything! I wonder if it's the difference between jumbo and super bulky yarn? I did mine in jumbo! They turned out super cute though!
I'd try a jumbo to see, but I don't have the yarn and I'm not letting myself buy anymore this month. I need to recoup so funds 😂I've been buying yarn like crazy.
Cute dragons. I can’t wait to see your next one. Do let us know how it went when making notes on it.
For sure!!
I love the black dragon and the eyes are perfect. I had to tweak her possum pattern to work for me. Try yarn over it may help. 5 to 6 stitches off seem like alot to me. I could see 1 or 2
Right!! I'm going to make a whale then go back to the dragon.
Love your dragons!🎉❤
Thanks!
Great video. I love genna's dragons. I wish I could crochet them. I'm working on a shawl for the spring/summer. Tfs jen in south dakota!
You'll get there.
Hello Robin, I love your channel!! I just wanted to mention that I did the dragon pattern today and had the same problem with the placement of the spikes. On my second dragon I decided to just mark the stitches and add in later. What I noticed though is that when I did the next few rounds my dragon neck twisted and the placement of my marker moved. I think this is what is happening with the bobbles not lining up well in the original pattern. I am going to try one more time with a looser tension. Hope this helps.
I did try another time (actually a few more times) my last one I did very loose tension and did the decreases the same way Genna does hers (see her bee tutorial 21:50) she does an invdec different from most people. But doing it that way it turned out much more in line!
I like the big eyes on the dragon. Your John makes me laugh, has he ever guessed right?
I showed him a spider this morning and he got that one right 😂😂but usually no!
On dragon nose I think could use a color
Another thing for the crochet frog to hold: A battery charger. Something soft to put in your bag with a useful bit inside just in case you need it
good idea!
Robin if it makes you feel any better and if you think John is bad at guessing what your stuff is, my husband is the same freaking way!!! I have been doing your axolotl pattern which sells GREAT for me BTW so thank you so much!! He did not even know WTH an axolotl was and he is almost 54!! Don’t worry I went to google and educated him fully 😂😂😂! Even when you “mess” up I think your makes still look perfect!!! You’re just freaking awesome!!!
Sandy that makes me happy that my little Axolotl is doing so well for you! It also makes me happy that John is not the only one! Maybe it’s a guy thing 😂😂
The only reason I know what axolotls are is they put them in Minecraft a few years ago and so it was all over the youtube world what these animals were and why they were putting them in Minecraft!
Love the black dragon with the big eyes. What about curls for the mermaid hair? (Jellyfish legs? )
That’s an idea!💡
The dragons came out well, love them. I don't have the fortitude to keep persisting with a pattern. I'll make a note that says 'NOPE' and the reasons why and file it away, never to be tried again. 😅
I will try at least twice, sometimes it's me and not the pattern.
@@KnottingHookCrochet please keep us updated
Loving the bee and yes still only 90cents SCORE ❤ lol. I did notice the dragon pattern in Etsy and it says two sizes, is it possible someone copied and pasted but forgot to change numbers? I would think the tester would have caught that but 🤔 just a thought. Every thing you make is awesome! Thanks for sharing with us all and may your day be filled with Happy Crocheting 🧶 ❤
The 2 sizes is just using 7 weight vs 6 weight yarns. 90 cents is definitely a score!!
@@KnottingHookCrochet oh well that definitely makes sense and me old brain didn’t think of that lol oh well just trying to help 🤔
@@nancywilliams798 it is misleading
If there is no stitch count I also add the row/rnd on my own, I just can't deal with out it! Lol I think it's my ADHD and it's peace.of mind that if needed, I can cpunt the stitches.
Cute makes! And thanks for the feedback on each pattern. Those crabs are silly and I might need to make one, so thanks for the heads up on row 6. 🧡 The dragons are really cute but I will need yo wait awhile before I try that one. And the wings look like fruit slices to me. Especially the yellow orange one 🤭
Thanks Nic! I like the crabs they are quick and fun and yes a little silly! The wings, mixing fruits with the animals is real popular so looking like fruit slices might be a good thing 🤣
@@KnottingHookCrochet 😁 I will try to get a crab done before crabbing season in July.
@@AntisocialAuntie you can do it! It’s easier than the snake or the Axolotl
@@KnottingHookCrochet Really? It looks more complicated than those. Okay, I will try it. I have seen people doing stuffies with worsted weight held double. Wouldn't be as cute, and might be fiddley, but I have more color choices on my wall. Have you done anything like that?
@@AntisocialAuntie Yes that will work and would give you lots of practice. I've done them to do my keychains with or when I want to test a pattern and not waste my plush yarn.
Love the dragons, the blue one is my favorite only because of the cute visible face and I am partial to blue. How do you add the triangle to the tail if you don’t mind sharing?
I sewed it on. Put a small amount of the tail inside the spade and sewed through all 3 parts plus the parts of the spade that are not covering the tail tip.
@@KnottingHookCrochet great thank you! Now I just have to figure out how to do the spade :)
@@CaMT888 i started with 4 sc in mc. rd2 (1sc, inc) x2 rnd 3 (2sc, inc) x2 and increased my sc count by one on each round until it was as big as i wanted it.
@@KnottingHookCrochet thank you so much, you are so sweet! I will try it. I just made the knotted loveys’ dragon but no arrow tail. The arrow really defines the dragon. Your flying ducks / birds you made the other day were so cute, smaller, they would be great for baby mobiles. Well done :)
I also got her dragon but haven't made it yer!
Just be patient with those many bobbles LOL
The dragon is cute lying down, but when you hold it upright I'm sitting there going "What is this?"
ooooo I love that blue one
It was hard to get a good angle to show it. Definitely looks better lying down.
I did a pattern 13 times of a rabbit. I had one row, the same row, that I had to adjust every time on each of the rabbit. Still not sure why.
Doesn’t it make you just a little crazy 😂😂
wow I can't believe she came up with a no sew dragon., I am thinking's its due to your yarn under method. Did you look at the reviews of other people making it?
I bought it the first day so there wasn't any reviews posted at that time. She does yarn under as well so I don't think it's that. I do think the decrease method may play a part in it. She does not do an invisible decrease the usual way.
How did you get your mermaids head from being floppy? I stuff mine quite a lot but the head is still slightly floppy? Appreciate any tips you can share. Thanks!
Are you using the same pattern? I can't say for sure except I stuff pretty firm and when I start the head that 1st increase round is pretty tight.
@@KnottingHookCrochet It's a different mermaid pattern but dolls in general I find a challenge to get the heads sturdy.
I’m so surprised by your experience with the toucan yarn. It does catch a bit when frogging, but I find it a WORLD more durable than parfait chunky and light years more durable than sweet snuggles lite. Honestly, except for Posh & Baby Bear, it’s my absolute favorite yarn
I really like how fluffy it is and how it feels but if I make a mistake and have to frog I have to cut that part off and reattach. I thought parfait was rough with frogging but this is worse and with both sewing is awful.
Hi there! Was wondering where was the cow patter from?😊
The link is in the description.
I just ordered the dragon pattern. I did send msg, asking Genna how she decreases? Both loops or flo?
How did you decrease ?
I did front loop only. Do you think that would make a difference?
@KnottingHookCrochet it could? I let you know what Gennas reply is??
Everyone decreases differently, and I read her pattern and it didn't specify?? Or did I miss it??
@@pattievon6904 I just double checked it does not say.
Good point!! Please let us know what she says when you get a reply. That would make a difference.
So I just watched a few of her tutorials and she does her decreases different. She goes into the FLO of first stitch, pulls up a loop, then goes through the second FLO and pulls up a loop again, then pulls through all 3 loops. This might make a difference for sure. Her Bee tutorial is only a few videos back on her page and shows it fully if you want to check it out (at the 21:50 mark in the new tutorial).
Ask Heather to make one and see if she has the same
we were just this minute talking about that. She said she's going to get the pattern and give it a go.
Couldn't you just surface crochet a bobble by going into the row 🫣
Someone else suggested that and I’m going to give it a try it sure would beat doing all the math! 😂
Yet
I knew what you meant 😂
