Wow. I used to train at a gym with this guy. He was always respectful to me when I was a kid.
Hell ya! Love me some Pu Pu platter! When I was a kid that was my families tradition. My mom and dad would take me out on Xmas eve for Chinese and my dad always got us the Pu Pu Platter. I thought it sounded hilarious as a kid!
They both passed away in 2017 and I miss them a lot.
Remember in that Pixar movie a bugs life when the flies ordered pu pu platters and it was actual 💩 lol ! Also rip to your parents 🕊 🙏🏽

I didn’t have time to watch this when it came out but knew that I wanted to go back for the commentary and comments. It didn’t disappoint! I’m surprised that you enjoyed it so much, I’m no health nut but the grease gets to me. Love how you didn’t know the names of a lot of the food 😆
We used to eat Chinese every Friday, that or Papa Gino's. I miss PuPu platters and good fried rice. The only thing you didn't mention that you had, was chicken fingers. They were my favorite, especially dunked in duck sauce and hot mustard. Good stuff!!

That's what's nice about Chinese restaurants. They're usually open on holidays were everyone else is closed. It's a nice option for single people. Just tried your blue Power Aid drink. I liked it. It reminds me of the taste of cotton candy.

Geoff, I never knew what a PuPu platter was, so thanks for teaching me something that I've never seen before. I love the pork fried rice as well. I have been craving Chinese food for the last couple of months. The place I like to get mine is take out only, and they weren't wearing masks the last time I went. So just trying to be cautious, I keep talking myself out of going there. I also saw the video of you eating all that pizza with Molly! Congratulation on getting that done. It did look pretty good!

MSG is a seasoning (monosodium glutamate), it is also found naturally in some foods, like i tomatoes, I’m not sure what else it is found in naturally. I think people contribute a food’s umami flavoring to MSG, although I could be completely off base and confusing the wrong seasoning here… love watching your videos as always!

Not sure if there are a lot of differences between Canada and USA but what u call an egg roll we call spring rolls...our egg rolls are fairly big in size, where as the spring rolls look exactly like the ones you were eating. Always awesome to see the capacity of how much food you can eat.

Looks are deceiving but as you said ,Chinese food is very greasy, dense and very filling. It looked delicious. Shuteater said you have to pre-book your KFC Christmas Dinner in China. The pu pu platter from my best local Chinese restaurant contains: chicken wings, two beef on a stick, two spare ribs, some fried wontons, two shrimp toast, two shrimp something deep fried in a batter, two egg rolls.
Looks like you have some boneless spare ribs.
I love shrimp toast. Not very many Chinese restaurants have it on the menu where I live.

Yeah the shrimp toast is good. Little triangles. Kind of heavy/greasy but good. Tho... if they were any bigger they might give you a heart attack.

Yum! To tell you the truth, I've never had a poo poo platter and didn't know what was in it. Now I'll probably order one. My old standby for Chinese food is lo mein with chicken beef and shrimp. Now I'm really hungry for Chinese food again, doggone it!!!

Ooh this got to be one of my finest challenges I ever seen you do I would totally get this but with no beef ribs and no chicken right now either . I'm not eating meat but I would normally get only chicken products and seafood products no beef.

Chinese takeout almost always gets bigger as you unbox it because they usually pack the food so dense.
Chinese aunties got you when your wallet doesn't.
I could eat this but I’d take a while to eat it, that’s a LOT of starchy carbs but most of Americanized Chinese food is. I usually do 3 plates when I go to a Chinese buffet. Two regular food plates and a dessert plate.
I would get their sweet n sour chicken with white rice, 4 egg rolls, 2 cream cheese won tons and their hot & sour soup for my first round. Second round would be their general Tso chicken, peanut chicken on a bed of lo mein noodles with 4 spring rolls , 6 chicken wings and egg drop soup and fried wontons for the soup.
My dessert plate ( because they put them on the dessert line) would be 12 peel and eat shrimp , 12 mussels , 4 deviled eggs , rice Krispy treats ( usually 2 of those) some chocolate pudding and these weird cream filled cake pin wheels. All this with two glasses of sweet tea or Diet Coke ( cannot stand how strong regular coke is), diet cuts down the acidity.

You can film inside the restaurant, just set up phone on table. I've seen it done hundreds of times. "Darren Eats" does it all the time at buffets
Chinese food tends to fill you up quick due to being heavy and greasy. I often can eat massive plates of Chinese while friends have the smallest portions. I also find it digests quick and I can eat a ton and be ready for more just a short time after. Been a while since ive had Chinese though. Its definitely best to eat it right after cooked if you can. Quality drops off a good bit the longer it sits.
That's an appetizer for five that haunts them for hours...lol! Perhaps, you could have bought more to make it a challenge.

You should try a challenge with Japanese food. I love steamed rice and shrimp or beef with broccoli when I get Chinese food.

I like appetizers in general but l really like Chinese pupu platter. There's a restaurant in my town that brings it out on a three-tier platter with a flame coming up in the middle. Very dramatic and tasty.
