I found a valve at my friend’s house that looks exactly like the valve in the logo, I took it home and I’m gonna repaint it so it looks new. But when I saw it, this song played in my head as I picked it up
The year is 2025 at E3. The lights slowly dim. The Open Your Mind intro for Valve plays with this music. After the intro, past Half Life game covers appear. The Half Life 3 logo slowly fades in, and the crowd goes wild.
DynamiteDancer102 The reaction for Half Life 3 would be pretty big, yes, but I'm sure that the reaction would be fucking EXPLOSIVE if they announced Ricochet 2.
Do we really need another Duke Nukem Forever? Another game that used to be expected for so long, and nobody remembers it anymore? A dead meme? You people will never learn. YOU WILL NEVER LEARN. There will be no Half-Life 3. It's just a meme, that is alive for as long, as it does not exist. And Half-Life 3 will never be published. It would be maybe... let's say, in 2009. Or 2010-2012. It'd be ok. But at this point, there is no way this game will ever be released. And for a good reason. Because it's impossible to develop an FPS game that would pull 300% again out of this genre and create a plot and gameplay that would be such an absolute hit as Half-Life 1 and Half-Life 2 were. And secondly look at the most recent Valve games. Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Will Valve really create a game that would require so much effort to create, when they can make thousands of dollars of Steam and skins? Why would they make an another FPS, when there is already abundance of them on the market, while they can just savely profit from Steam sales? Because let's face it - nobody would even appreciate Half-Life 3. It'd be forgotten very fast no mather what, and then Half-Life would collapse as another franchise, that died with disapointment, as nobody would wait for another Half-Life sequel anymore. Just like Diablo 3. Valve knows it and that's why Gordon Freeman will never return.
Seeing that Valve Logo in VR combined with this song let me know that Valve hasn't lost it's touch quite yet. As long as they continue to use this song and have the valve sticking out the back of Coach's head, I can still trust them.
Yeah, i kinda noticed how much Black Mesa and Aperture are like Macs and PCs. Black Mesa's stuff is all dark and utilitarian like a PC, whereas Aperture's hardware is white, shiny, and doesn't accomplish much.

"Ah, tick-tick-tock. Is that the sound of a Geiger counter or my lifespan counting down? It's both! That's right. Here at Black Mesa, when we talk about "half-life," we mean it in more ways than one. So make your peace, and come to Black Mesa. That feeling of stepping out of the pipe, thinking that you'll land on flat ground, only to be met with a narrow cliffside as a jet flies past is just amazing.
This iconic song is played in all three HL games when: Gordon Freeman walks past the cliff & saw jet flies by at Surface Tension chapter Adrian Shephard enters contamination room & encounters first Shock Trooper at Crush Depth chapter Barney Calhoun went inside Xen and attempts to jump floating rocks at Focal Point
Steam is the greatest achivement of Online gaming and a cloud platform for games. Delaying HL3, well maybe Gabe ate the Hard Drive it was stored on by mistake. Otherwise you can't deny that they are THE BEST game developer out there.

Well in order to creat a portal using aperture's device, you need to shoot at the destination, rather than back mesa's teleportation contraption to anywhere as long as there is another contraption
Yes, I only listen to this song on Blast Pit where I can elevate down to the railroad to the pool of ooze. I don't want to listen to this song in Surface Tension while going through a pipe in where Adrian Shepherd sees this kind of cliff.
@BAlOHAZADO Of course, Wolfenstein 3D was the beggining of a good fps, i still have it on a floppy somewhere, but Half-Life really pushed the boundaries.
Just beat Half Life 1 today. I don't know what they were thinking with the Xen levels; scenes like the one where this played were what made the game for me. Coming out of that drainage pipe and seeing the jets fly past, or firing the rocket engine on the tentacle things, or launching the satellite, those are the parts I'm going to remember.
Well, in terms of Tablets and stuff, Samsung > Apple and in terms of technology, in the Portal 2 comic LAB RAT on the table doug was working at you can see a portal gun, the GRAVITY GUN, and a Combine health charger, and an HEV charger.

I don't know how they would even develop Half-Life 3 at this point. The expectations are through the roof. They would have to pull a masterpiece.
DynamiteDancer102 No, G-Man saying "Time, Dr. Freeman? Is it really that time again?" as the HL3 logo fades in is much better.
