Super Street Fighter II (SNES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

- A playthrough of Capcom's 1994 Super Nintendo versus fighter, Super Street Fighter II.
Played through with Cammy on the highest difficulty level. The best ending is shown, since I didn't lose any matches.
A pretty excellent playing port. It suffers a bit compared in some respects to the Genesis port because of the smaller ROM size (the SNES version is 32mbit/4mbyte, while the Genesis cart is 40mbits/5mbyte), it still retains just about everything that made the arcade original so good.
The only real negative in my mind here - this game was among the first of Capcom's SNES games that threw as much reverb at the music as possible, making the music pretty tinny and grating, and well below the quality of the music in SF2T (sound quality that is, I like Super's remixed versions of the music well enough). At least it isn't as bad in SSF2T as it got in games like Final Fight 3 and Mega Man X2/X3.

The '90s will always be awesome!!!
bell yea
what about 2020s technology is dope. in the 90s our phone was plugged into a wall. to play music was big clunky cd that fit about 7 to 25 songs or so. in the 90s they was still using tape players, had to manually rewind stuff listened to. people would shop in brick mortar stores back then instead of amazon.
People always talk about the regular SFII games, but this one is the way to go in my opinion. Still own this wonderful fighting game.
I agrree. This is my favorite of the classic SF-games.
Nope. SF2: Turbo is where it's at.
@@cuervojones6454 what's the difference? Besides the characters
I also think this one is the best of all.
@@christiankonez8073 Street Fighter II Turbo allows for a more challenging, faster gameplay. It has updated and more polished portrait designs of the cast, and even includes the four final bosses of World Warrior: Balrog (formerly known as “M. Bison”), Vega (formerly known as “Balrog”), Sagat, and M. Bison (formerly known as “Vega”). It's basically Street Fighter II: Championship Edition ported to the SNES. Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers is an extension of the original Street Fighter II which, once again, includes four new fighters: Dee-Jay, Cammy, Fei Long, and T. Hawk. Just like the last update, the character portraits are polished and redesigned once again, but this time so are the original sprites! Only by a little bit tho. The most noticeable change is that Guile is more muscular than last time.
Cammy was always my fav player in SSF 2, I named my daughter after her. I was hyped as a wrestling fan that she had the frankensteiner and German suplex in her move set
No one cares
@@coleredmond845930 people cared
You can tell all the graphical/music power went into the new characters stages , Cammy especially. Great song.
The snes seemed tailor made for this game it’s a better port than sega ol have to say
@@blastprocesthe SEGA version has more modes of play and more animation on some of the New Challengers (like Cammy). Too bad the music and colors are messed up without a ROM hack, since it’s the better playing version in spite of the inferior sound.
How superb was games back in time
Thanks. I remember forcing my mum to go kilometers away lol to another town to rent it as there was only one video game shop in the area. I played it ALL weekend and loved it. I then purchased it was amazing. Really good memories.
Still one of the coolest game intros of all time
and ending credits. and music and game play and story and graphics had it's charm this is the best fighting game of history
Yep 👍🏾
My favorite fighting game of all time. Pure masterpiece!
I love SSFII on SNES grew up on it in 1994 I was 9
SNES was the ultimate home arcade.
Until the Sega Saturn came out.
@@Rocket1377 eh Neo Geo AES was the ultimate arcade back then because it was the arcade at home. Sega Dreamcast was up next
This was the first time I ever heard Cammy's stage music. Every classic iteration since has rocked!
I don’t care if the sound isn’t as good as Turbo on the SNES. The full roster will s what mattered to me as a kid😊
Nice gamplay with Cammy! She is a street fighter waifu!
Oh my gosh the music from the capcom screen brought back memories
When I was a kid I would very much enjoy seeing Cammy’s victory pose. So much so they had to give me a nerve calming pill
i could hear all the remarks from kids watching you and standing in line behind you to play at the local arcade...
"youre cheesy"
"i got next"
"i can beat you with zangief"
This is by far the superior version between this and the Genesis version. My only small gripes are the missing announcer voices at the beginning of the rounds and the continuity of the music between rounds
They did the announcer during tournament mode so not sure why they missed it out in vs.
Naa, Genesis version ve better music (At least never stops between rounds), better controls and the movement in screen is much more fluid than in Snes.
@@fernandopalmeira622 No, the Genesis music on this game is absolutely terrible, Capcom never trully shined on the Genesis, they seemed more focused on Nintendo at that time. Capcom would make up for it on the Saturn, but their Genesis games that they did, many Genesis fans felt were disappointing on the console. Doesn't matter if the music does not fade between rounds on the Genesis version, when it sounds as awful as it did, it completely negates that.
@@fernandopalmeira622 Genesis owners are forever in denial. Like, it's ok to admit your fave system has inferior graphics and music.
@@scienz I was a Snes and Genesis owner =P
I just got to give the man a like because first thing he did was put the level settings all the way to hard. You know you a beast when that is the first thing you do.
👍
Cammy is my favorite hottest character of Super Street Fighter 2 because of her finest pose! ❤️👌🏿
I just realized that there is no announcer voice for the "Round 1/2/3 - Fight!", unlike previous games.
So strange they left that out, but included the voices for the different countries names. That takes much more space!
Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers for Super Nintendo is now on New Nintendo 3DS and Wii U Virtual Console.
One of the best fighting games ever made
One of the best intros in the history! 😍
Cammy stage song and fei longs were my fav for this version
Honestly, a very good port, I even prefer it to the arcade original because of its higher game speed, it's like SSF2 Turbo without supers. But the missing "round # - fight" voice bothers me, the Genesis version has it, but the rest of the Gen. port sounds awful...
Still so much better looking than anything SEGA has EVER put out! The Sega SF2 was hard on the eyes and ears..
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...
this is Cammy vs the WORLD?
PERFECT!
GO CAMMY!
Fun fact!, modes 3 and 4 for Snes can display up to almost 2050 colors!!! (BG1), and still having the other 256 colors for other background layers and sprites. And always remember that the best Snes games, technically wise are SLOWROM games. There was an agenda, in my opinion, to promote the PS1 and step aside the 16bits consoles which were more capable than everybody thinks, this part is so true, that's confirmed.
The real Snes port of SSF2 was the FM Towns one, same resolution (256x224), same amount of colors on screen (256), even in the options menu when configuring the inputs you can see that there's a buttons layout featuring the Y,X,B,A,L,R (Snes), and even other featuring the A,B,C,X,Y,Z (Sega Genesis), which could imply that these version was originally intended to be for these consoles, cause making the FM Towns port, which looks amazing, and plays amazing, is a little bit too much for a computer that almost nobody knew and it was used basically at schools. Of course, let me remind everybody that the Snes is perfectly capable of reproducing the FM Towns one, like Gizaha says (he made the Killer Instinct Snes MSU1 patch), CPS2 gameplay and looks are easy for the Snes, in 256x224, and the Snes development manuals confirm that. We should DEMAND Capcom to re port every SF2 games and others to Snes and fix that error, the bargain that they gave us, the memory?, by the mid 90s this wasn't an issue anymore so imagine nowadays.
Congratulations ! It was a pleasure to see you winning in the hardest difficulty mode !
lol. Vega sounds like a girl!😅 but Cammy almost met her demise to him.
+Lysandra Nemesis Would explain her scars! And why he protects his beautiful face :)
The bonus stage music reminds me of snes smash tv.
In England, Cammy has brought me here
Love that game!!
Now to wait until Super Street Fighter II Turbo.
A excelent gameplay! 😉👍
Did T Hawk dirty! LMAO

I think it's cool you actually used one of the New Challengers!

So on the hardest difficulty, T.Hawk just kept doing the same move over and over? LMAO
"You had an accident and lost your memory. Don't you remember?"
ironic
goodness, does Zangief think he is Blanka or something?
You are very strong my friend. I've always underrated cammy but Is a good choice. In my opinion sagat Is the strongest enemy ,Is very fast but you beat him easily
To think it would take until 2017 and USF2 for Capcom to release an arcade presentation accurate representation of SF2 for a Nintendo home platform continues to boggle my mind. That until then, THIS was the most accurate SF2 home conversion they had. For 23 damn years when they had three systems afterward that could’ve more than done it. CvS2 got a port to GameCube, before SF2 got an arcade accurate conversion. SNK had numerous games on Wii. GGXX was on Wii. But NO SF2 outside of the SNES and Genesis ones... Jeez Capcom....
And I know someone will bring up SSF2T revival, but that game was so bug ridden, unoptimized, and just cheaply made that it ruined what would’ve otherwise been really good.
Wasnt hyper street fighter 2 on gamecube? On the anniversary collection?
@@jorgelugo9473 Nop
because only recently did it become cool to play these old games. But let's be real, this is just as good as the arcade. SNES was such an amazing system.
Hi Score Girl brought me here. That manga references SF2 so much.
The best street fighter version
For the most part, this is a pretty good port of the game. Though I don't much like how the distorted voice samples. And the punch and kick sound effects sound more like weak slaps than hart hits.
Wow that ending had me dry heaving.
your videos are so COOOLL👍
Cammy a galega Top deste game.
Cammy é linda
Cammy is beautiful
That thumbnail though 💀💀
you weird jit
My favorite game
It's amazing how Cammy (a freaking teenager) has a little boob bounce in the US release, but lord forbid Mai from Fatal Fury 2 and Special have it (and she's a grown ass woman), the world would explode. Thankfully NoJ didn't have the stick up their asses that NoA had. As for using Cammy, I could never do well for her, the only Street Fighter female I ever had any success with was Sakura, but at this point she hadn't debuted yet.
Animation and gameplay is better on Gênesis. But the Sony soundchip make the difference this time. Even with missing voices, SNES wins this one
Great version. Nintendo does what genesis don't.
Why was the sound in this game infinitely worse than it was in sf2turbo?
Hay
question: how she can use the toilet with that suit?
Maybe she just pulls the crotch of the outfit to the side?
The snes is much better version
jeikksON I agree.
jeikksON I love the music from the SNES version.
Totally
T.B.H., the Genesis version was also very well done, and had more megs, (and the announcers voice all the way) and what not. That being even if I won't dare argue for those who understandably say the SNES game was the superior port at the same time though. But I truly believe the Genesis did better with Champion Edition/Turbo than Super Nintendo however.
@@freakyfornash The rough sound and low color palette of Championship Edition really didn't do itself many favors for the Genesis. When a fan does a sound and color hack that trumps the Capcom made version, then you know something was wrong. I'm sure you can find that version on the internet for a Genesis emulator, you'll appreciate it far more than the original Capcom made version.

Hello anyone!
Is this street fighter 2 super snes the best one worth getting?
I think so. It's life a deluxe version of StreetFighter 2 Turbo.
The only real difference is new player costumes in this one. The background colors are different. Also, this installment features 4 new fighters not in SF2 Turbo (T.Hawk, Cammy, Fei Long, DeeJay.)

Ooh okay lol makes sense now
Good game but the soundtrack was awful in this one ruined those epic tracks
The colors in this game sucked. Same as the arcade. DHalsim stage looked horrible in SSF2. The contrast was too much. The green and all. So many stages just had way too much contrast. The World Warrior for me was always the best stages. Even over Champion and Turbo.
thats not snes super street fighter II
I bought this game when it came out way back when because of all the hype. What an overrated game.
