bts can speak/understand japanese very well actually and they do release japanese albums like most kpop grps do. it's very common. japan is a huge marketplace for kpop as many ppl there love the genre + idols/grps. bts, twice, seventeen, txt, etc. are super popular among japanese ppl specifically from what i know

just a heads up A LOT of K-pop groups drop Japanese albums. The albums will have a couple of new songs on it and then older songs turned into Japanese versions. I was curious about this too but the reason they do this because Japan’s marketing is even bigger that Korea’s so this allows them to become much more known. So basically it’s just a marketing strategy that works very well.
Can't forget when Joon fought with his sister so when both had some work outside of house and it was raining Joon took all the Umbrellas in the house so that his sister can't leave ,🤣🤣🤣
Its actually when they both were still in school. He said because she's a girl, he can't hit her. So when they fought, he got ready to school early the next morning and turn on the lights in her room then left. He also brought her umbrella to school when it was raining so she doesn't have one. Ngl i would've never thought to do petty shit like that its so smart.😂

they actually have four albums in japanese (face yourself, the journey, youth and wake up) summary: as groups usually grow a lot in japan it's normal for them to make versions of songs and create some in the language, attract fans grow in the country its a marketing that works. I lived in Japan and bought all their Japanese releases. When I go to their concerts I’m all messed up bc I learned a lot of their songs in Japanese so I’m a mess with the chanting. It’s actually kinda funny belting out the wrong language, people give me the funniest looks then laugh. Good times!
They all can speak Japanese (I don’t know to what extent, but they can), I also heard some of them talking in mandarin
they obviously know some phrases in a lot of different languages, but as of speaking more freely, it’s Japanese, english, mandarin and obviously Korean
everyone in BTS speaks Japanese, intermediate to advanced level. Namjoon and Taehyung are fluent as far as I know. some members also speak mandarin (jin and hobi), V is taking spanish lessons and spoke abt learning french. Namjoon is fluent in English and all the members are taking lessons

1. HYBE bought 100% of Ithaca Holdings, Bieber's label since 2021. So BTS' company actually owns their label now (in which BTS also have stocks in HYBE) so they're a part of their family of companies/labels.
2. BTS have tons of Japanese albums (and Japanese original songs + some of their korean songs sung in Japanese too). Namjoon is fluent in it. The members studied it, with Jin & V being the closest to being fluent (a few years back, idk now since they haven't practiced in a while). The rest of the members know enough survival and entertainment Japanese but not as fluent as Namjoon.
3. Suga (and the rest of the members) were visually bored during most of their US interviews (not all) during 2017-2018 cos they've been getting the same or silly questions over and over again (and there were barely any questions about their music aside from the generic ones or the "which american artist would like to collab with" question). Aside from that, they were tired since they're doing about 3-5 interviews while preparing for their performances.
4. The one where Namjoon mentioned another underground rapper that auditioned (that was in the same "group" as BFree) because they're ragging on him being an idol while there were others from the same underground scene that tried to become one too and they're hypocrites for criticizing someone trying to get into mainstream while they themselves want to do it (just not succeeding).
5. The way you guys were making fun of the interviewer saying they like the first 20 secs is hilarious! 😂 The guy interviewer was tryna be funny but it just came out as cringe cos the excitement looks unnatural.
Bit of background re: Beiber being in the same company as them - technically this is true, HYBE bought out JBs company so they’re colleagues (not sure if completely bought out but yeah - someone correct me if I’m wrong lol)
I think justin bieber is signed it multiple labels? i believe hybe bought multiple ones though. pretty sure they also bought one that justin bieber and ariana grande are signed in together.

Kpop idols usually have to learn Japanese, Mandarin, English, and a bit of Thai (a least enough to speak on stage and for interviews) because their primary audience is in Asia. At 7:55, the fan said ''you're dropping a Japanese album soon, so why not drop one in English''. The way I see it, English speakers, we often feel entitled to getting everything in English. See it like that, when American artists produce music in English, it's not as if they take the time to translate their song into every language for foreigners (and usually foreigners don't complain, we just learn the language you know). But whenever, a foreign artist makes music in their own language, it always has to be translated into English. RM is smart. He sees through people. Even though that guy did not have any ill intent, a lot of fans and interviewers are just straight-up pushy and sometimes ignorant😩.
bts does have japanese songs ! they rerecord a lot of their already released songs in japanese because they have a huge group of fans there, etc :))

In fact, almost all Koreans speak Japanese very well. Because, from an early age, they watch a lot of Japanese anime (without subtitles), and they study Japanese well at school. but English is in the third place in education at school, and because they hardly watch English shows, etc. many do not speak English.

I think you guys watched BTS intro before maybe you don't remember. They can all speak some Japanese. Namjoon is fluent in English, Japanese and Korean. They're all at least bilingual. They also have a lot of Japanese songs and they have Japanese albums, performances.

All the members can speak japanese (and mandarin though Jin and J-hope seem to be the best at it) 😄 It's like a predicament for all idols since they promote a lot in Japan too aside from Korea (ergo why they release japanese albums/music) and with the latest 3th and 4th generation idols, it looks like english became a predicament too since k-pop gained great popularity in the US and internationally, there's a lot more idols who can fluently speak english when it was quite rare before

Some idols come from Thailand, Japan, Filipines, America, Canada, New Zealand , Australia, Vietnam, Macau , Hong Kong, Germany, etc... so it makes sense that a lot of them speak 2 or more languages.

a lot of koreans speak japanese. I think it's because of history. but I'm sure it's most likely celebrities speaking japanese. probably because of marketing strategies. tae is not japanese haha he loves anime tho. I remember him imitating some anime characters like brook of op.
US is biggest musicindustry and Japan is second biggest, Europe is 3 but pieces (UK, German, France...). Japan is near SKorea so many kpop groups try make it big there (BTS is allready biggest in Japan too😅)

@05:31 Hybe is the parent company. BigHit is a subsidiary of Hybe. Hybe bought Ithaca which was Scooter Braun's holding company that manages Justin Biber, Ariana Grande and Demi lovato. Scooter is now the CEO of Hybe USA. When Hybe bought Ithaca, it also acquired Ithaca's subsidiary, Big Machine Label Group which has Sheryl Crow signed, so....... BTS, TXT, and Lee Hyun are the only artists that are signed to Big Hit but all of the artists are under the HYBE umbrella along with a whole lot of artists because HYBE has a lot of subsidiaries. I think that BIG Hit is the only one that controls its own business though. There's a video where someone breaks down the whole thin but I don't know ho did it or where it is.
