I grew up in the 50's and 60's and this was one of my all time favorite records back then.....This 1981 live version is totally awesome......I found this video just a few days ago and keep playing it several times a day......I miss those days and the music was the best....Nothing today compares to these songs and the entertainers......
It's looks super sound like gaslight theater in new horizons show documentary about biography book club fun more information interview review history and bring them back to gaslight theater show
Originally they were to sing Teenager in Love by Pomus and Shuman, but the song was given to Dion/Belmonts. Pomus and Shuman then wrote Hushabye for them. Did okay, huh?
Oh, I love this so much! There are so many songs I grew up hearing on the radio but had never seen the artists. Many times I didn't even know the name of the artist or group. It's only now with RUclips that I can find things like this and see songs performed that I've loved since I was a kid. Such a treat!
Great music. Great talented artists. The ‘40 ‘50 ‘60. ..wish I’d be around at those time. Loved them all. I admire your work, and grateful for kindly sharing. Have a nice evening🙂everyone.
Mint Crush has that right! These guys look great in their Brooks Brothers inspired suits. I would love to see some of Rock stars get out of their grubby flannels & sweats.
@@nightbloomer4739 I absolutely AGREE with you. Sadly a lot of them look unkempt like they just roll out of bed in the mornings and out through the front door 😔
One of the greatest oldies ever recorded. The epitome of the greatest musical time in history! Great live performance too. Never saw it before today. Thanks to who ever made it available!
One of my favorite groups from back then. This sounds as good as their original release. I was about 13 when this song hit the charts. Thank you Lord for those times.
I think the above was from the Lamp Post oldies show that was on TV in 1981 (along with the Jive Five, Randy and the Rainbows, and others). I know I recorded it on my old RCA top loader VHS tape machine. I remember thinking at that time, that it had been 22 years since Hushabye was a radio hit, that I bought the record on a 45 back in '59 --and that it seemed so long ago in my life at that time. And to think now that 36 more years has past since 1981. Where did the years go!
I had just turned 14, my voice still closer to a Sorano than a tenor, and I played keyboards and Sax. An older group, by that I mean they were 17-19 yrs old lost their high tenor to the Draft, so I was supposed to fill in for a few weeks until they found a permanent replacement, they thought I was too young, until we went on the road, and had some good success, lasted almost two years till the voice changed and my High Tenor days were over, Wouldn't change it for the world. Jay and The Americans, Kenny Vance, and these guys were my role models,
A Celestial Oldie Classic... "The art of music is divine and effective. It is the food of the soul and spirit. Through the power and charm of music the spirit of man is uplifted." ~ Baha'i Writings
Foi um fenômeno que passou na terra entermo de cantor, sua trajetória foi difícil a qui na terra com sua família, más deixou saudades sua vida foi igual um cometa Haley Deus te abençoe a onde estiver.
Exactly the way this song should be presented live, and exactly the way the audience should behave during the performance of a song of this genre. Personally, I like hearing and seeing the artists, not hearing the guy next to me sing, or the guy jumping up to "party" in front of me. Not a Stones, Dead, or Kanye gig. Was the standing O omitted? Kudos to Phil and John in particular, but also to all the guys. Not easy to sing live and remain totally cool. Can anyone ID from left to right, and who are original members? Great understated, classy performance.Bookmarked in my faves forever.
💯 Perfect Performance by The Mystics. 💯 The audience was respectful and appreciative. The audiences of today (2021) are disruptive and immature acting."😡
Yes and sadly, "the more things change". Saw the Beach Boys their first U.S. tour in '64 and even on the front row, couldn't hear anything but screams, the entire show. Had to be there.
