    I spray a little trim tex glue in my dust mask before I start sanding. Wowee! Pole sanding has never been so much fun.

    I just discovered that I need to widen my cased open / drywall opening 1/2 inch. (Yep, I’m pissed) I’ve never done drywall before but this video gives the confidence I need to do it. Thank you for posting this. Especially since I was planning on the metal tape method. Now I won’t.

    Great video! But I have a question. It other videos I seen people saying to leave a space near the bottom open and without the bead. you didnt meantion that, but yet in the video I can see you did leave a space. How do you finish the rest of the corner?

    as an experienced drywaller, I find the vinal bead to be the hardest... it bends and flexes so much it's actually difficult to get a straight edge all the way down, my opinion, the steel corner bead is by far the quickest and easiest.

    • @ivaneatoniii5025

      Agreed, 20 yr drywall finisher, I love how he says, if your not experienced it is gonna be harder, Well who the hell is experienced besides the guys who do this for a living who come here and just laugh at the shit they see. I laughed alot here. Metal bead, Tin snips, and a hammer and drywall nails, cut your bead, put it to the wall, eyeball it, and if the rock was hung correctly. It will go to a 90 angle almost perfect. An if not, FLOAT THAT BITCH. . Flex, I only use flex on a 45 angle that is over 8ft long. Plastic bead. Ill walk out the house first.. Plastic bead is junk, First time a kid goes running through the house, and bumps it. Then A handyman or homeowner is hear watching this video.. METAL IS THE ONLY WAY. If I did not have any bead on site. Id paper tape a bead first.

    solid video, wished I used the plastic corner bead instead of the aluminum bead because of all the extra fasteners, adhesive spray is such a hassle-free and quick installation for corners.

    Im not crazy about your idea of putting plastic on the corners other then round arches, if the wall is bowed in anyway it just follows the bow and doesnt look too good which is why the beadex you can at least keep it much straighter

    I am confused at the part where you say check to make sure there is light You are ensuring that there is a crevice inbetween the corner and the other end of the bevel part of the drywall? What if you are doing a bulk head and its not a bevel end of the drywall? I am confused about this part of drywalling in general.. where two boards meet does it have to be bevel end of both of them? If it is not than can it ever be taped properly without having mud protruding from the wall?

    • @jordanmorris4220
      @jordanmorris4220 7 лет назад

      soldatheero you have to have room to get a few coats of mud on to the bead if the was no light the bead may show and could crack

    • @eqvamilion
      @eqvamilion 7 лет назад +1

      The way the corner bead is built, if installed correctly even on the butt end of drywall, you'll be able to see light.

    • @tkdtres
      @tkdtres 6 лет назад

      A corner bead has a pronounced nose, that nose will extend out from the drywall. When you place one side of joint knife or trowel against the nose of the corner bead and the other side against the drywall there should always be a gap/light in between them. That is what you will fill with your compound. It does not matter what drywall connections are there. If you do not have that light or gap you can just adjust the corner bead. Type in Kody Horveey, he has a video on corner beads with clear instruction. You can also learn from him how to plaster different drywall seams. He will show you how to fill in the beveled edges and build out where there is no bevel. There are different techniques for different seams, do not get discouraged all you need is practice. I see you asked this question a year ago, I image you learned all this already.
      Good day.

    At 3:00! WHAT DO YOU DO IF YOU CAN'T SEE ANY GAP? How easy is it to re-adjust the corner bead after it has been sprayed and attached? I am watching this video because I wish to learn!!! But you are not teaching.

  • @mansardmanor3869
    @mansardmanor3869 3 года назад

    Extra work
    Extra cost in materials
    Extra time to slow process
    You skipped the plum of the corner
    You skipped the Quarter Round trim
    You skipped the mud n paper corner bead
    You could also turn the trowel at an angle to slide the mud from outside into corner
    So you have one move rather than a hundred little moves
    But got the idea 🙃
