What is heartbreaking is the key in which this solo is written...
Only for strings. As a brass player, I would be quite content
@@tylerboltenhouse5442 clearly the solo is for violin
Not too hard tbh
@@TacticalStrike Violists love 5 flats, just play everything in 1/2 position
@@WoodburyWrestling 5 isnt horrible, 6 sharps or flats is where i personally go bonkers
"heartbreaking vibrato" ... what a marking
I recently went to the Mariinsky theatre to listen to Gergiev conduct Shostakovich 4 and hear Lorenz play as well because he's the concertmaster of that orchestra and let me tell you his solo in Shostakovich 4 was soooo beautiful, truly an amazing musician, so expressive and colourful
Lucky. Shostakovich 4 is my favorite symphony of all time. Might be the greatest symphony of all time too. It definitely is at least one of them
one of the greatest moments in all music
One of the best renditions of this glorious solo I've ever heard. Bravo!
What a great concertmaster mr Nasturica is! One of the best in the top europeas orchestras in my opinion.
Is not an exageration, that's a tear-breaking solo.
This passage gives me goose bumps!
Has there ever been a piece written that makes audiences cry more than this song cycle?
Kindertotenlieder
How can anyone manage to sing at this moment. I’m just sitting here quietly crying….
yess that heartbreaking vibrato!
Wunderschön!!! Berührend bid zu der tiefsten Seele!!!👏👏👏👏👏😍❤️🌹🌳🌼😪🌹🎶🙏🎶🎶🙏🎶🎶✨🌿✨🌿✨🌿
Four Last Songs - Vier Letzte Gesangen of Richard Strauss -- Stunning solo violin in "Going to Sleep" movement
Will, as you are getting older the more this 4 Last Songs will brake your heart more and more.
Yes, I've noticed much the same as the years have gone by.
The memories of those dear to us that we've lost pile up with the years, and as they do this piece only gets ever more poignant as it brings memories of them flooding back. Music eh?
"The Most Heartbreaking Violin Solo" 1:01!
Strauss è stato veramente un grandissimo compositore. Questi ultimi 4 lied sono qualcosa di meraviglioso, senza dimenticare l'immensa grandezza e bellezza dei suoi poemi sinfonici.
You're not wrong!
It's by Richard Strauss! What else would you expect?
Yes, Yes, Yes and Yes!
Is it not beautiful to watch as the soprano listens.. before returning .. ah music.. ah peace...
Beautiful and cool notations, but I hated the cliffhanger ending... let them finish the damn phrase!
Lorenz Nasturica❤
Hey, I just randomly remembered about your channel, but couldn’t find your old videos, did you delete them? And yes, that solo is great indeed.
Yes, and maybe I'm going to have to the change to the British barrister head piece to get my playing in line w that
HOW DARE YOU CUT IT OFF THERE
I know exactly what you mean !
💎
The three guys from Berlin Phil. Should learn from him…..!
It is all in his hair 😮
Diana is the best
Sounds a bit like Rosenkavalier by the same composer
Exactly. It's particularly audible starting at 0:23... but he's permitted to quote himself, eh...
THAT'S A WIG!!!!! NO way that's NOT a wig!!!!!
Loved this solo though.....
Jokes aside his hair literally never changes. You might have a point
Is that Strauss, Mahler, who's the composer and piece? I never heard that
Description
@@ihH6053 And the name of the singer ?
@@hansdekorver7365 Her name is Diana Damrau :) check out her rendition of Mozart's Queen of the Night aria, it's unbeatable!
Richard Strauss, “four last songs”.
@@hansdekorver7365 It’s Diana Damrau
Diana Damrau!?
Of course, it’s Strauss.
sound quality is too bad to appreciate
What is the name of the violinist
Lorenz Nasturica-Herschcowici (Bucharest/Romania) Munich Philharmonic symphony orchestra.
@@Altam02 Due to the political issue he left the orchestra since months
@@Altam02 Thanks. And the name of the soprano ?
Yes. But why is he wearing that Halloween wig?
I guess it is the lack of context, not hearing everything that led to this solo - I find a cute melody, but nothing that makes me weep.
listen to beethoven 16th quarter the penultimate mvt is like a copy of this but beethovens better
Need to baroque-tune that instrument so you can play your way outta that trash violin key!
No it didn't. Shove your clickbait titles
Celibidaches Son on violin !
Munichs Major fired the conductor, because he is russian !
What is more heartbreaking is that he was sacked for not supporting western imperialism enough. Anyway, it's their loss, good luck finding a violinist of his caliber and experience.
Not going to let this slide - have you considered that Russia’s invasion to annex a country with its own ethnic and national identity is the definition of imperialism? Probably not, with your thick skull. Somehow, you’ve managed to dream up the most utterly incorrect take of all time, which is that defending ukraine against imperialism is ‘supporting western imperialism’? Wow
@@andrewnix6480 And have you considered that the Western imperialism with invading or destroying other countries is as bad as the Eastern imperialism?
@@mylkrym I'm not speaking with idiots
Most unfortunate is the soprano soloist, a terrible singer strangely admired by some.
Why?
@@leilathomas2536 The wobbling, which afflicts virtually all the singers before the public today (aside from early music specialists), is to me intolerable.
bad russian guy
Very bad guy. To perform with Gergiev !?!?!?
